  • Patent number: 7625805
Abstract: Trenches are formed in an SOI wafer to isolate low-voltage and high-voltage elements in the wafer. The isolation trenches are formed with trench coverings that do not protrude above the trenches. Vertical in-trench and horizontal out-of-trench isolation layers are formed and the trenches are then filled to above the planar surface formed by the isolating layers. The filling is planarized and a portion of the filling located in the trench interior is removed. A portion of the isolation layers are then removed and a portion of the filling is removed so that the filler and the isolation layers in the trenches are at about the same level. A covering layer is then deposited. The covering layer extends above the surface of the wafer and into the trenches down to the filler and the isolation layers. The covering layer is additionally planarized to about the top of the trenches.

  • Patent number: 7579976
Abstract: A radar detector is operated to suppress nuisance radar alerts by identifying a first signal in radar band of interest, e.g., having a frequency that is a harmonic of a first nuisance local oscillator frequency leaked from a nearby radar detector and identifying a second signal having a frequency that is a harmonic of a second nuisance local oscillator frequency leaked from the radar detector where the first and second local oscillators are companion signals. A detector is also provided that suppresses nuisance radar alerts by detecting a first signal in a radar band, providing a first alert designating the detection of the first signal, determining that the first signal is a nuisance signal, providing a second alert designating that the first signal is a false alarm, and turning off the second alert after a predetermined period.

  • Patent number: 7562145
Abstract: Connections from a client to respective ones of a plurality of application instances that receive data from a shared communication protocol stack are assigned by defining an affinity between the client and a corresponding one of the plurality of application instances. Connection requests received from the client at the shared communication protocol stack are assigned to the corresponding one of the plurality of application instances if an affinity is defined between the client and the corresponding one of the plurality of application instances. Connection requests received from the client at the shared communication protocol stack are distributed to selected ones of the plurality of application instances if an affinity is not defined between the client and the corresponding one of the plurality of application instances.

  • Patent number: 7544037
Abstract: A pallet clamping device is mounted between forks of a material handling vehicle. The device clamps to a stringer of a pallet using a pair of horizontally moveable jaws. The jaws are resiliently forced toward one another for clamping a stringer so that a clamped pallet will not move off the forks. The jaws are mounted for pivoting and sliding motion relative to mounting pins which, together with links coupling the jaws to a base of the device, tighten jaw closure if a pallet moves away from the forks. The pivoting and sliding motion of the jaws helps align the jaws with pallets not perfectly aligned with the vehicle. Depression of a foot pedal moves the jaws from a closed position to a latched open position for receiving a pallet stringer. The jaws can also be moved to an unlatched open position for receiving a greater width center stringer. Upon release of the operating device from the unlatched open position, the jaws move toward their closed position.

  • Patent number: 7543877
Abstract: A compressive member is used to bias a seat backrest into a predetermined position, generally upright as illustrated, relative to a seat base with the compressive member deforming to enable the seat to be pivoted by the application of force to the backrest. When used on a materials handling vehicle for which it is particularly applicable, the resiliently biased backrest attenuates forces that are transferred to the back of an operator occupying the seat when the vehicle is driven over irregularities in a floor supporting the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7543069
Abstract: Session state affinity is maintained in a workload balancing system that includes a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) routing server and a plurality of application servers. The application servers maintain backup session state information for a first session to a first server of the plurality of application servers at fewer than all of the plurality of application servers, detect the unavailability of the first application server at an application server of the plurality of application servers other than the first application and determine a second server that continues the first session. An identification of the second server and the first session is sent from an application server of the plurality of application servers to a HTTP routing server responsive to detecting the unavailability of the first server.

  • Patent number: 7532314
Abstract: A biological and chemical detection system is provided that detects and identifies biological and/or chemical particulates of interest. The biological and chemical detection system comprises a collector, a first optical device, a second optical device and a processor. The collector is configured to deposit particulates drawn from a fluid stream onto a sample substrate to define a sample area. The first optical device derives first data relative to at least a portion of the sample area, which is analyzed to determine at least one field of view and/or specific target location. The second optical device then interrogates the sample area at each determined target location, e.g., using Raman spectroscopy, to produce interrogation data.
