Patent number: 4669622Abstract: A hollow vertical cylinder is open at its lower end. A deck having an open communicating with the interior of the cylinder seals the upper end of the cylinder. A cap for the upper end has essentially the same shape and size as the top end. The cap has a first relatively small section and a second relatively large section. The first section is secured along a portion of its periphery to a corresponding portion of the upper end periphery by an integral living hinge. The two sections have adjacent edges disposed along a curved line which extends across the deck, these edges being secured to each other at opposite ends of the line and being otherwise unsecured to each other. The secured edges at each end of the line each constitute a separate integral living hinge. The first section is secured to the top end in a region spaced from both hinges. A prong is secured to the second section and is insertable into and removable out of the opening in the deck.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 1986Date of Patent: June 2, 1987Assignee: Anchor Hocking CorporationInventor: Robert A. Patent number: 4611382Abstract: A method of manufacturing a fistula consisting of a needle mounted on a plastic handle or wing. The plastic wings are formed by continuously extruding a plastic strip having the wing cross section. The outer end of the extruded plastic is blanked to partially shape and outline an individual wing. Thereafter, a needle is inserted into a hollow core on the endmost partially blanked wing and a needle guard is positioned over the needle. Finally, the completed fistula is removed from the end of the extruded strip by a final cut or punching for producing a finished fistula.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 1984Date of Patent: September 16, 1986Assignee: Joule' Inc.Inventor: Julie L. Patent number: 4586339Abstract: In heat transfer from a warm water source, efficiency is improved in a thermal energy conversion (TEC) by increasing the temperature of heat supplied to a turbine system substantially above the water temperature. This temperature increase is accomplished in a separate system by reacting gaseous ammonia with water to produce sensible heat at a high temperature; the ammonia is later fractionated from the water using lower temperature heat from the existing heat source. A single-stage temperature increase system (TIS), may be used or there may be an addition of a second stage for raising the temperature of the heat supply even higher.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 1983Date of Patent: May 6, 1986Inventors: Allen F. Reid, Albert H. Halff

Patent number: 4582003Abstract: A unitary multiple-shelved folding display stand intended to be made principally from corrugated board comprising a pair of triple-layer board side wall members hingedly affixed to a double-board rear wall panel and able to fold backwardly flat against the back side of the rear wall panel. The side wall members are joined by a plurality of elastic bands removably affixed near the forward edges of the side wall members by means of formed shelf support members removably secured to the side wall members. A plurality of triple-layer board shelves are hingedly secured to the front of the rear wall panel so that they may fold flush against the rear wall panel for storage or transportation and be unfolded down against the formed shelf support members for horizontal location and load-bearing support.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 1984Date of Patent: April 15, 1986Assignee: Ultimate Display CorporationInventor: Kenneth W.
