  • Patent number: 7260164
Abstract: An efficient filter circuit and method for filtering a loss of receiver signal prevents false signals caused by glitches. The short glitches that happen at the positive edge of the clock signal may be prevented from affecting the whole clock cycle. The false signal removal circuitry is effective against both false active high and false active low signals. A selectable majority determination block also measures the number of glitches or average signal strength to determine that a valid signal is present. A mininum pulse width of a glitch is settable.

  • Patent number: 7051297
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and apparatus for mapping platform-based design to multiple foundry processes. According to an exemplary aspect of the present invention, a predefined (or pre-specified) slice is successfully mapped on to a first fabrication process with a first set of design rules to produce a first result. Then the slice's ability to be mapped to a second fabrication process with a second set of design rules is evaluated to produce a second result. Next, the comparison between the two results is computed to produce a third result. The third result may be then used to modify the slice architecture, optimize the metalization process and/or modify the first or second fabrication process. The slice definition, the first set of design rules, the second set of design rules, the first result, the second result, and the third result may be stored into a database.

  • Patent number: 6976263
Abstract: A method and system for communicating across heterogeneous networks having components with dissimilar data structure definitions is disclosed in which determinations are made as to whether the sender is up-level or down-level and whether the up-level data structure size is greater or lesser than the down-level data structure size. According to these determinations, data fields for the decoded data structure may skip data or assign default values. The invention reduces upgrade costs and system down time.

  • Patent number: 6928843
Abstract: An enclosure assembly for enclosing a tamper-evident security seal sealing a hasp assembly comprises a first enclosure portion and a second enclosure portion. A post is coupled to the first enclosure portion for extending through the generally aligned holes of the hasp members of the hasp assembly to secure the hasp members together and position the first enclosure portion behind the security seal. The second enclosure portion includes an aperture formed therein for receiving the post so that the second enclosure member engages the first enclosure portion and covers the security seal. In this manner, the first enclosure portion and the second enclosure portion cooperate to at least substantially enclose the security seal. A latching member secures the second enclosure portion to the first enclosure to limit unauthorized access to the security seal.

  • Patent number: 6928598
Abstract: A system and method for protecting the values stored in a BISR repair block and, optionally, debugging the BISR repair logic without altering normal test flow is implemented by a circuit including a plurality of soft latches within the BISR repair block, the soft latches being coupled together to form a BISR scan chain for holding BISR repair information. A chip level scan enable signal and a scan hold control signal cooperate to control connection of the BISR scan chain to other scan chains during a scan test, so that the BSR repair information is held within the soft latches. A diagnose enable signal cooperating with the chip level scan enable signal and the scan hold control signal for enabling debugging of logic connecting the BISR scan chains.

  • Patent number: 6913429
Abstract: A bit retaining assembly for retaining a bit in a rotary tool, in particular a router such as a hand-held router, a table-mounted router, a pocket cutter, a laminate trimmer, a rotary cutout tool, or the like employs a planetary gear system for multiplying the torque applied to clamp the bit within a collet. The bit retaining assembly comprises a chuck for coupling the bit retaining assembly to the rotor shaft of the rotary tool. A collet is disposed in the chuck for receiving the bit. A nut threaded onto the chuck compresses the collet about the bit to secure the bit within the collet. A planetary gear system transmits torque applied to a housing member to the nut for rotating the nut on the chuck. Preferably, the planetary gear system multiplies the torque transmitted to the nut so that the torque transmitted to the nut is greater than the torque applied to the housing member.
