Abstract: A message filtering system is provided including a message management unit and a message monitoring unit in communication with the message management unit. The message management unit is configured to send and receive message over a network and to route messages to the message monitoring unit based on a message source, and the message monitoring unit is configured to parse the message and locate identifiers in the message and to re-route the message based on the identifier located in the message.

Abstract: A method for providing access to a passive optical network for services to homes or businesses from two or more telecommunications service providers and a billing means is described. A first service provider connects to a point of presence at one side of passive optical network. The provider transmits the appropriate services through this network to an authorization receiver. The authorization receiver is used to receive a periodic authorization code from the network provider to enable the appropriate services from the service provider to be transmitted to a subscriber at a home or business. The authorization receiver enables an optical fiber path to be established for the services to flow to and from the home or business.

Abstract: The present invention provides methods and systems for automating data transactions in a CLEC interface model. A computer-implemented method for provisioning trunk circuit orders is provided with an interne interface to a computing device to exchange information. A trunk order issued by a first organization is received at the computing device. A first notification of the trunk order is sent to a second organization. A confirmation in response to the trunk order is received at the computing device. A common interface is provided for information exchange. Processing time is decreased for modifying, creating, and deleting trunk circuits in a telecommunications network. Records are maintained and automatically cataloged with time and date-stamps to keep a history for reference.

Abstract: Devices and methods of entraining a substance within an airflow are disclosed. Condensation aerosol delivery devices and methods of consistently producing multiple doses of a substance, such as a drug, having high purity, high yield, characterized by a particle size distribution appropriate for pulmonary delivery, and which can be administered to a user in a single dose are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method of planning a network architecture includes receiving at a host computer system a request from a user computer to initiate a network architecture planning process, in response to the request, transmitting an electronic file comprising a first display screen to the user computer, wherein the first display screen comprises a question relating to a parameter of the network architecture, receiving at the host computer system a first response to the question, transmitting at least a second electronic file comprising a second display screen to the user computer, wherein the second display screen comprises context-sensitive content based on at least one previous response, receiving at the host computer system at least a second response to the at least a second display screen, determining at least a first action based on the first response and the at least a second response, and transmitting information relating to the at least a first action for display at the user computer.

Abstract: A system for controlling incoming and/or outgoing calls on a telephone system having a single incoming/outgoing telephone line to which multiple telephone ports are connected. The system includes a database of instructions for processing calls, with the instructions being determined by the line owner. The system also includes a central processing unit for applying one or more of the user-specified instructions to selectively process an incoming or outgoing telephone call. The system may additionally include a caller identification device for identifying incoming caller numbers, and may process incoming calls according to the identity of the caller. The system may also include instructions for processing calls according to the time of day, or other user-specified parameters. Another aspect of the invention provides a method for controlling incoming and/or outgoing telephone calls, using the system and instructions described above.

Abstract: Methods for implementing emergency services on a telephony network are presented. A server receives an indication from a telephone handset that a “panic” button has been selected. A call connection is determined and a call is connected based on instructions associated with the emergency call connection. Telecommunication devices for implementing emergency services are also presented. A handset, associated with a location identifier, includes a “panic” button and predetermined emergency call connection instructions are sent/received when the panic button is selected. The telecommunications device may include a database to store information associated with different handsets, a call processor to determine and make emergency call connections over the network when the panic button is selected, and panic logic to store preferences that control how the panic button is implemented on the system.

Abstract: A method, system, and apparatus for attenuating a dialing confirmation tone includes receiving an enable signal from a tactile user input device, generating at least one dual-tone multiple frequency (DTMF) tone, and communicating the at least one DTMF tone to a telephone line. The method further includes attenuating a signal level of the at least one DTMF tone by a predetermined amount to produce at least one attenuated dialing confirmation tone in response to receiving the enable signal, and communicating the at least one attenuated dialing confirmation tone to an audio output device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosed invention include a system and a method for bypassing an emergency alert break-in. An emergency alert break-in means any message, alert, and/or newscast that interrupts by preempting and/or modifying displaying of a regularly scheduled program to present information associated with an urgent and/or important event. For example, in one embodiment, a method is disclosed that includes receiving data from a media content provider; identifying from the data an emergency alert break-in; presenting a user interface that includes an option for bypassing the emergency alert break-in; and displaying a regularly scheduled program in response to receiving a request to bypass the emergency alert break-in.

A network server is provided and is configured to transmit a plurality of multicast streams of video content over the network. A scheduled start time for the transmission of a first stream of the multicast streams is assigned. A request for the video content is received at a first time, which is after said scheduled start time and the request is the first request for the video content received by the network server after the scheduled start time. The first stream is transmitted over the network only after the request.

A network equipment module is in communication with the service forecast module. The network equipment module is operable to determine an equipment need for telecommunications network equipment in response to the determined forecasted service need. The equipment need includes a list of equipment that is desired to meet the forecasted service need. A task module is also in communication with the network equipment module. The task module is operable to determine task needs in response to the determined equipment need. The task needs include a list of tasks that need to be completed to meet the equipment need. A project module is also in communication with the task module. The project module is operable to calculate a project start date. The project start date is calculated in response to the determined task needs.

The method includes drawing a coversheet from the dedicated coversheet tray to be positioned adjacent the printed file, the coversheet having a plurality of predetermined username positions and a corresponding plurality of predetermined barcode positions. The method further includes performing a barcode scan of the coversheet, determining at which username position to print the username based on the results of the barcode scan, and printing the username at the next-available username position.
