Abstract: An actuating device for protective roll bar fastened to a side hoop installed in a motor vehicle comprises, in combination, a slidable tubular sleeve, a coil spring cooperating therewith and a releasable latching means. The device permits an easy and rapid exit or access to the vehicle. The roll bar combined with the device offers increased safety for a passenger in the vehicle in case of an accident.

Abstract: A portable medical apparatus for use in diagnosing, testing and/or treating simultaneously various types of body disorders, including neurological or muscular abnormalities, by non-invasive and painless procedure comprising essentially an amplifier interconnected with a sensor, a meter, a threshold control, an electronic driver, a transducer and a power supply in the form of a low-voltage battery, stimulates living tissue by electromagnetic energy produced thereby for transmission thereof to the afflicted portion of patient's body.

Abstract: An illuminating spinner adapted for detachably affixing to automobile wheel having center hub cap removed therefrom is described. The spinner comprises a plurality of wings having apertures in front walls thereof, a central front opening covered detachably by a cap and a closed rear wall. An adjustable adapter secured to each wing locks the spinner on the wheel. Electrical circuitry situated inside the spinner, including light-emitting diodes in the wings, provides illumination to the spinner.

Abstract: A durable dental holder for a toothbrush and its combination with means for supporting a tube of toothpaste is described. The holder comprises a pivotably mounted flap having an opening for the passage of a toothbrush handle and a pair of longitudinal notches in the lower portion of its front wall for a gripping engagement with a flexible tube of toothpaste.

Abstract: A portable, rigid carrier for ice skates comprises an upright wall having two lateral panels and narrow front and rear sides, each side being provided with a central longitudinal slit adapted for insertion of an ice skate blade. An ice skate fastened to a shoe is held in a fixed position in the carrier by means of a spring-loaded locking means cooperating with an adjustment means, both means being located between the two lateral panels. There is also described a carrier comprising a pair of spaced upright walls joined by transverse spacers and provided with registering apertures in the walls. A bag disposed between said walls is included for convenient storage and removal of articles needed by a skater.

Abstract: A portable, flexible, refrigerating pouch for carrying and storing insulin needed by diabetics to prevent it from deterioration is disclosed. The pouch comprises an insulating layer and a liner whose structure provides separate compartments for a refrigerating agent, a vial of insulin and a syringe.

Abstract: A fluid-handling apparatus having a magnetic drive comprises a rotatable driver member and a driven member provided with blades for imparting motion to a fluid and mounted on a stationary shaft forming a one-piece unit with a thin diaphragm positioned between said two members which comprise a plurality of permanent magnets. Each magnet has a central aperture dimensioned so that the attracting force is substantially equal throughout the body of the magnet.

Abstract: A device for playing a ball game by hurling a ball against a wall and catching it on the rebound is described. The device comprises a hollow, cylindrical, elongated body member having an open end, a closed end and an opening having a partially arcuate configuration extending through a major portion of the body member. The inner surface of the body member defines a passageway for the ball when it is either thrown or caught by the device.

Abstract: A locking device for maintaining two electrical cords in firm contact with each other comprises a longitudinal bar, a portion of its surface being serrated, a fixed end member secured to one end of the bar and an adjustable moving locking member slidably mounted on the bar adjacent the other end thereof. A plug and a socket connected thereto are positioned between the two members with the locking member being adapted to form a binding engagement with the serrated portion of the bar thereby preventing the two cords from being separated.

Abstract: A flexible insulated lunch bag adapted for transportation and storage of food comprises a liner disposed in the interior thereof, means for opening and closing the bag attached near its top and a carrying means affixed to the upper portion of the bag. When empty, the bag can be folded or rolled up to a fraction of its overall length.

Abstract: An air-supported shelter for covering swimming pools, warehousing, greenhouses, recreation areas, climate control, pouring cement foundations and the like uses. The shelter system includes an inflatable enclosure and a blower assembly for inflation thereof. The enclosure is attached to a base by a plurality of anchors which hold a cable disposed in a hem forming the lower portion of the enclosure. The cable is connected to a tautening device by means of which an air-tight seal between the enclosure and the base is attained. The entire shelter system with the enclosure in collapsed state may be placed in a housing for storage or shipping purposes.
