Abstract: The invention relates to a class-D audio amplifier. The class-D audio amplifier is configured in a current feedback mode as a voltage-controlled current source and a passive inductor/capacitor (LC) reconstruction filter. A portion of the passive LC reconstruction filter is situated in a feedback loop to an error amplifier.

Abstract: A pedestrian route navigation system (“PRNS”) in a vehicle capable of determining a route from a final parking position of the vehicle to a predetermined destination, comprising a final parking position unit and a pedestrian route calculation unit. The PRNS may include a display unit capable of outputting data concerning the route to the predetermined destination, and a transmitting/receiving unit capable of transmitting the data to a mobile information unit of the user of the vehicle.
Abstract: A system is provided for conveying information to an occupant of a motor vehicle. In one example of an implementation, driving-relevant information is obtained for example using sensors or a navigation system. An audio message is determined based on the obtained driving-relevant information. Spatial characteristics for the audio message are also determined. The audio message is output in the motor vehicle with the determined spatial characteristic via loudspeakers.

Abstract: A monitoring system is provided that is capable of determining when the temperature of at least one point along a refrigeration unit is not within a standard temperature range known for the operation of the refrigeration unit at the at least one point. In particular, the monitoring system is capable of alerting a technician or operator if, after a predetermined amount of time has elapsed after the refrigeration unit is expected to start, the temperature of the at least one point along the refrigeration unit is not within the standard temperature range known for operation of the refrigeration unit when the compressor is running. The predetermined elapsed time may be of a length of time necessary to allow for the refrigeration unit to complete a defrost and/or delog cycle and recover from such cycle. The monitoring of the at least one point along the system may be accomplished by the monitoring of a thermocouple.
Abstract: A packaged electronic device includes a die, a flexible circuit structure, and a barrier film disposed on the die. The die includes die circuitry and electrical contacts. The flexible circuit structure is bonded directly to the die, and includes electrical conductors encapsulated by structural layers. Each electrical conductor contacts a respective electrical contact. The electronic device is encapsulated by the barrier film and one or more of the structural layers.
Abstract: A method is provided for predicting the performance of a loudspeaker port and optimizing port design. The method involves defining the geometries of a loudspeaker port, modeling the bi-directional fluid flow in the defined port utilizing a modeling method known as Computation Fluid Dynamics (“CFD”) and analyzing the flow model to determine whether the flow characteristic displayed in the model represent optimum flow characteristics for port performance. To optimize port design, the geometries of the port may be altered and modeled until the flow characteristic represents flow indicative of optimum port performance.

Abstract: A treadle motion therapeutic device and a method of providing treadle motion therapy to a user which may be used as part of therapeutic modalities. The treadle motion therapy device adapted to receive at least one foot of a user in contact with a treadle such that the treadle pivots between a heel of the foot and a front portion of the foot to allow the user to move the treadle by using the front portion of the foot or by using the heel of the foot. The treadle motion therapy device having a capacity to store kinetic energy to assist in maintaining the treadling motion during a treadling session. Variations for other devices and methods are suggested.
Abstract: A noise test measurement system configured to measure a noise component of a transmitted RF signal is described. The noise test measurement system may include an antenna, a low-noise amplifier, a local oscillator, a first coupler, a first variable phase-shifter, a first mixer, and a processor.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for producing saline slush for surgical applications. Producing surgical saline slush in a slush bottle that is a rigid or semi-rigid, high integrity, sturdy container that resists punctures and leaks to better maintain a sterile barrier and does not rely on having an external object placed in the fluid to mix the slush. Slush is agitated by rotating the slush bottle within a slush bottle carriage around an axis of rotation. Agitation of the slush may be increased by including an agitation feature such as at least one fin in one or more sidewalls of the slush bottle. The rotating slush bottle is chilled. One variation is to keep the sterile saline in a flexible container and tumble the flexible container in a rotating slush bottle. Other variations are suggested.
Abstract: A Solar Access Measurement Device (“SAMD”) located at a predetermined position is disclosed. The SAMD may include a skyline detector enabled to detect a skyline of a horizon relative to the SAMD, an orientation determination unit enabled to determine the orientation of the skyline detector, and a processor in signal communication with the skyline detector and orientation determination unit.
Abstract: A navigation system and method having a function of alerting the driver to potential wrong way driving comprises means 102 for determining a position of a vehicle 300, means 107 for calculating a driving route of the vehicle 300, means 108 for determining a driving manoeuvre in accordance with the predetermined driving route 305, means 104, 105, 110, 111 for outputting indications relating to the determined driving manoeuvre to a driver of the vehicle 300, and means 109 for alerting the driver to potential wrong way driving including means 201 for detecting a potential wrong way driving situation and means 202, 104, 105, 110, 111 for outputting an indication relating to the potential wrong way driving situation to the driver.
