Abstract: A fastening element for connecting a housing to a printed circuit board comprises a first surface having a through hole for receiving a connecting element for connecting the fastening element to the housing, at least one first mounting pin extending from the first surface for mounting the fastening element to the printed circuit board, a second surface from which a second mounting pin extends for mounting a fastening element to the printed circuit board and a third surface connecting the first surface and the second surface.
Abstract: In one embodiment, a frequency agile receiver is provided that includes an antenna: a first diode having its anode coupled to ground through a first conductor; a second diode having its anode coupled to the cathode of the first diode through a second conductor, the antenna coupling to the second conductor, the second diode having its cathode coupled to an output node through a third conductor, wherein at least one of the first, second, and third conductors comprises a shape memory alloy conductor; and a tuning circuit adapted to drive a bias current into the shape memory alloy conductor.
Abstract: A mobile communication unit having at least one operating mode comprising a security unit for enabling/disabling at least one operating mode, whereas the security unit is designed in such a way that at least one operating mode is temporarily disabled for the user of the mobile communication system. A checkpoint communicating unit may be used to control the operating mode of the mobile communication unit. The checkpoint communicating unit may include a status extracting unit for generating a request for a security status of the operating mode or operating modes of the mobile communication unit. The checkpoint may also include a lookup table containing at least the operating mode or operating modes to be disabled in the mobile communication unit. A comparison unit may be provided for comparing the security status received from the mobile communication unit to the disabling status stored in the lookup table.
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatus for the provision of spinal therapy to two or more adjacent motion segments accessed through a trans-sacral approach. The spinal therapies include fusion and dynamic stabilization with and without a distraction of the most cephalad motion segment of the two or more adjacent motion segments provided therapy. The disclosure includes methods and apparatus to impart a distraction on a second more caudal motion segment after providing therapy to the more cephalad motion segment. Related concepts for the extraction of previously inserted devices and the delivery and removal of plugs for plugging the interior cavities of implantable devices are disclosed.

Abstract: Spinal motion preservation assemblies adapted for use in a spinal motion segment are disclosed including the process for delivering and assembling the spinal motion preservation assemblies in the spinal motion segment via an axial channel created with a trans-sacral approach. Many of the spinal motion preservation assemblies make use of a dual pivot. A number of different embodiments of spinal motion preservation assemblies are disclosed which include at least one component adapted for elastic deformation under compressive loads. The disclosed mobility preservation assemblies provide for dynamic stabilization of the spinal motion segment. Other variations and implementations of the teachings are disclosed, including the sheathed delivery of membranes in order to protect the membranes before and during deployment.

Abstract: The present invention describes a non-rotating bicycle wheel display assembly that remains absolutely upright in relation to the rotation of a bicycle wheel and in relation to a parked bicycle wheel. The invention consists of a pair of disk assemblies mounted to both sides of a conventional bicycle wheel and in turn, to the front and rear of a bicycle frame. The disk assemblies are manufactured of a light weight inexpensive material that is formed to the convex shape of an outer surface of the bicycle wheel and includes a bearing assembly made of a high density, self lubricating plastic. A plastic retaining mechanism is secured to an outer disk and a bicycle frame member to hold the outer disk in an upright position at all times whether the bicycle is in motion or stationary.

Abstract: A multi-channel communication device for transmitting on a first frequency band or a second frequency band is disclosed. The multi-channel communication device may include a first transceiver operating at the first frequency band, a second transceiver operating at the second frequency band, and a controller in signal communication with the first transceiver and the second transceiver, wherein the controller may be configured to determine whether the first transceiver and the second transceiver are in operation.
Abstract: A system for determining a route and for warning a driver of a vehicle and corresponding methods are provided. The systems include storage units that store road segment passage restriction data and vehicle passage restriction data. The systems further include a working memory unit and a processing unit that determine a route to be displayed on an output unit or that provide a warning signal output, depending upon both the vehicle passage restriction data and the road segment passage restriction data.
