Abstract: Method for operating a display device driven by at least one stepping motor with display scales, having the following steps: determining suitable step widths at least in ranges affected by stroboscopic flicker effects when driving in each case one stepping motor for moving the display scale in a measuring run when starting the instrument or on request, storing the determined step widths in the form of a matching parameter, and operating the stepping motor(s) with a suitable step-width resolution in the ranges that are identified as affected by the stroboscopic flicker effects to be avoided.

Abstract: An electronic medical information card (1) for storing an individual's emergency medical information on. The medical information card is stored in a storage sleeve (2) to attract the attention of medical personnel. The storage sleeve may be removably attachable to a user's driver's license, wallet, purse and so forth so that it may be easily seen by a first responder. In addition, the storage sleeve is water proof and fire resistant to protect the electronic medical information card from becoming damaged. The information on the electronic medical information card may be updated by an individual over the internet by sending updated information to a central location that updates the information in a central database and allows the user to download the updated information back onto the electronic medical information card.

Abstract: A device for calibrating retinoscopes for diverging and/or converging streak and spot retinoscopy and a method for calibrating retinoscopes to produce a given convergence or divergence of light emitted from the retinoscope from a fixed retinoscopic working distance to produce a predetermined pupillary reflex endpoint at neutralization of a refractive error, thereby resulting in a more accurate corrective eye prescriptions and evaluation of the visual system.

Abstract: A support tube (1) for use as an internal support for multi-tiered cakes (9). The support tube has a raised internal profile (7) comprised of raised ridges (8) located on an inner surface (5) of a perimeter wall (4). The raised internal profile strengthens the perimeter wall of the support tube, thereby allowing the support tube to support large weights of multi-tiered cakes when placed in a vertical position inside a multi-tiered cake.

Abstract: A bird cage assembly with cleaning sinks that allows a user to clean a bird cage (1) without having to move the bird cage or dirtying the area around the bird cage. The bird cage rests in a lower cleaning sink (2) having a perimeter wall (4) extending upward from a floor (5) that angles downward towards a drain (6) having a drain pipe (7) extending from the drain. A flange (8) extends outward at an upward angle from an upper edge (9) of the perimeter wall and acts as a gutter to catch debris and water used to clean the bird cage. An upper cleaning sink (17) may be attached to the top of the bird cage to collect debris and water from a perch (18) located above the upper cleaning sink. The upper cleaning sink comprises a perimeter wall extending upward from a floor that angles downward towards a drain having a drain pipe extending downward from the drain. The drain pipe empties into the lower cleaning sink.

Abstract: An adjustable door stop (1) having a bracket (2), which may be mounted to the base of a door (3), and a tubular section (4) that may be pivotally or hingedly attached to the bracket so that the tubular section may be folded up into the bracket when the adjustable door stop is not in use and down when the adjustable door stop is in use. Clips (5) located on the bracket hold the tubular section in place while the tubular section is folded up into the bracket. An extendable rod (6) inserts into the tubular section and may be extended out of the tubular section to accommodate various heights of step downs or retracted into the tubular section when the tubular section is folded upward for storage. A lever (7) on the tubular section engages a series of ridges (8) located on the extendable rod to set the extendable rod to a desired length.

Abstract: The present invention is a buffer device that is designed and configured to successfully and adequately buff and polish any desired surface without causing fatigue for the user, as well as without creating any swirl marks. In order to provide for such a product, the present invention comprises a frame having a cylindrical body secured thereto. A motor is coupled to the cylindrical body to provide for the body to rotate about a normally horizontal axis that is parallel to the desired surface to be buffed, polished, and cleaned or the like. Secured to the cylindrical body is a buffing/cleaning pad fabricated from a conventional material.

Abstract: A wheeled golf club bag carrier (1) having a base (2) with a tubular wall (3) extending upward a predetermined length. Wheels (4) attached to the underside of the base allow a user to roll the wheeled golf club bag carrier. One or more finger springs (6) may be attached to the inside of the tubular wall. The finger springs apply pressure to the bottom of a golf bag (5) thereby securing the wheeled golf club bag carrier to the bottom of the golf bag. The golf club bag carrier has also a support brace (8) which extends upward from the base and the tubular wall and has a retractable handle (9) attached thereto. A user may secure a golf bag to the support brace via a strap (10).

Abstract: A laptop elevation device (1) that attaches to a bottom surface (13) of a laptop (12). Each laptop elevation device has a fold-up leg (2) pivotally or hingedly attached to a base (3). An arm (5) is pivotally attached to the base. When the laptop elevation device is in an open position, the arm may be folded downward to engage one of a plurality of holes (9) located on the leg, thereby locking the laptop elevation device at a desired height. The base may be built into a laptop or attached to the underside of an existing laptop using an attachment means (14). The leg may also have a layer of rubber (11) to prevent the leg from slipping while in use. A clip (11) located on the base locks the leg and arm in place while the laptop elevation device is in folded position.

Abstract: A cabinet and a door are each provided with hinge sets having hinge parts secured thereto so that they can be separately mounted on the sane hinge parts that are mounted on a door frame and are connected by a hinge pin for each hinge set that support the door on the door frame, using a single hinge pin for and as a part of each hinge set. With this mounting arrangement, the cabinet and the door of each such installation can move independently in an arc about the hinge pins connecting the door frame parts to the hinge parts fastened to the door and the hinge parts fastened to the cabinet without requiring the movement of the door concurrently with the movement of the cabinet.

Abstract: A protective canopy housing (1) for a barbeque grill (2) having a canopy (6) with a vent opening on a top (22) with an elevated vent cover (8). The canopy is supported by supports (5a, b and c) attached to a grill by C-clamps (4a,b). The canopy housing can include side curtains (10a, b) which may be rolled up and secured along the sides of the canopy. The side curtains may include mesh and can be maintained in a down position during use to protect the users from insects. The curtains can be removably detachable. The canopy would preferably be made of heat-resistant material.

Abstract: A vertically attachable golf cart canopy having a folding canopy which allows other accessories, such as coolers and sand bottles, to be mounted underneath. The golf cart canopy has three components: a securing frame (1), canopy support bars (2) and (3) and a canopy (4), (5) and (16). The securing frame (1) is shaped so as to have two vertical legs (21) and a horizontal top bar (23). Frame structure tabs (8) are located at the base of the legs (21) wherein the support bars (2) and (3) are pivotally attached to the securing frame (1). Each leg (21) has a leg extension (24) with at least one securing tab (6) to secure the securing frame (1) to the golf bag support bar (18). The horizontal top bar (23) has a canopy holder (11) which holds the removably attached canopy (4), (5) and (16), a canopy flap (13) and a canopy fastener (15) in order for the user to keep the vertically attachable golf cart canopy in an upright position.

Abstract: A vehicle seat neck protection device (8) that protects and supports the nape of the neck (4) of a user wherein the device (8) has a body (27) of a predetermined size and shape and a convex surface (6) for positioning the device (8) behind the nape of a neck (4), a rear wall (10) located on the body (27) and at least one securing means (7) located on the rear wall (10) for securing the vehicle neck protection device (8) to at least one post (3) of a vehicle headrest (1). The body (27) may include a cushion area (12) that forms the convex surface (6) and a dense area (11) located between the cushion area (12) and the rear wall (10). In the alternative, an inflatable bladder (17) may form the convex surface (6) wherein a user may selectively adjust the degree of inflation of the bladder (17). The bladder (17) may also be automatically inflated upon strong impact against the vehicle itself. The device (8) may be retroactively fit onto an existing vehicle headrest (1) or may built-into a vehicle headrest (1).

Abstract: According to this invention, allergenicity in an indoor space is reduced by denaturing allergens in allergen reservoirs that are capable of producing respiratory or skin reactions and physically removing the allergens from the allergen reservoirs in the indoor space. The allergen reservoirs may also be treated with pesticides and fungicides/fungistats to prevent reinfestation of house dust mites, molds and cockroaches.

Abstract: A swaddle wrap to calm and comfort an infant has two panels. One that is both wide and long enough to wrap entirely both of the infant's arms and a second one to then wrap around the infant's torso and secured arms that then are attached between the legs. Hook and loop fasteners are used to secure the arm restraints, the swaddle and to attach both panels between the legs.

Abstract: A pressure-actuated light device (1) with a holding portion (2) that allows a user to hold the pressure-actuated light device in a user's hand. The pressure-actuated light device comprises a housing (3) which houses a light emitting diode (“LED”) (6) having a cathode (11) and an anode (10) extending from it. The cathode has one end permanently connected to the LED and a second end in constant contact with a negative terminal (8) of a battery (7). The anode has one end permanently connected to the LED and a second end separated from a positive terminal (9) of the battery by a spacer (12) which prevents the anode from making contact with the positive terminal while the device is not in use. When pressure is applied to a button (4) on the housing, the button presses the anode against the positive terminal thereby creating an electrical circuit which activates the LED. The holding portion may take alternative forms, including a fin (13), clip (14), ring (15) or elastomeric loop (16).

Abstract: A rear break away ballistics vest (1) having a front section (36) and a back section (11) that are securable to one another. The front section (36) has a first side front section (16), a second side front section (17) and an upper front section (18). The back section (11) has a first side back section (13), a second side back section (14) and a back section cover (12) secured to the back section (11). A release strap (44) is located on the front section (36) to permit a user to quickly and easily remove the rear break away ballistics vest (1) with one hand. A first shoulder strap (4) and a second shoulder strap (5) are connected to the front section (36) and extend to the back section (11). A first clip (38) is located on the back section (11) to release the first shoulder strap (4) from the first clip (38). Similarly, a second clip (39) is located on the back section (11) to release the second shoulder strap (5) from the second clip (39).
