  • Patent number: 5118296
Abstract: In the formation of a dental restoration unit, a procedure for securely bonding composite resin material to a core structure is employed. A core structure comprising, for example, metal, is wholly or partially covered with a cohesion layer comprised of a blend of lithium, aluminum silicat and fused quartz silicate. The composite resin material is fused to the cohesion. The resulting restoration unit, such as a crown, is less liable to fracture than is porcelain, and can provide a surface which is no more abrasive than is natural tooth enamel.

  • Patent number: 5056753
Abstract: A safety support structure is provided which comprises a post with upper and lower ends adapted to abut firmly against a ceiling surface and a floor surface, and an accessory mounting region disposed between the upper end and the lower end. The post has a length adjustment means and a pressure indicating means to indicate whether the pressure on the structure, when positioned between a floor surface and ceiling surface, lies inside or outside a predetermined range so as to avoid inflicting damage on the floor or ceiling and to inhibit slippage of the post. The accessory mounting region carries mounting formations, to cooperate with laterally extending support accessories clamped to it and positively to resist axial and/or rotational displacement of the support accessories relative to the post.

  • Patent number: 5003904
Abstract: A keel assembly for a water craft. The keel assembly has a body having an aerodynamic cross section with a pair of side faces and a leading edge section. A portion of the leading edge section is movable relative to the body. A pair of vanes are spaced from and connected to the leading edge section to be disposed within a flow of water past the body. A pair of arms join the vanes with the portion. Movements of the vanes pivot the portion toward the direction of flow of the water to offset the effects of a negative pressure region occurring at the leading edge section.

  • Patent number: 4978959
Abstract: An operational amplifier is provided and includes at least two input terminals of one polarity and another input terminal of the opposite polarity. The amplifier includes an amplifying portion which comprises a differential section for receiving input signals applied to the input terminals. The differential section includes at least two differential amplifiers which form difference signals from the input signals. A summing section receives the difference signals and forms a sum result therefrom. A multiplying section provides an amplification gain to the sum result to form an output signal of desired gain. The amplifier is also provided with a feedback for applying an input signal to one of the input terminals, the output signal. The amplifier can be configured to provide amplification gains of 2, 1/2, -1 and 1.

  • Patent number: 4947148
Abstract: A horizontally mounted electrical cut-out device is provided. The device includes an insulator electrically isolating a pair of terminals and a fuse assembly comprising a fuse carrier housing a fuse element removably connected between the terminals. The fuse assembly is pivotally connected at one end to one of the terminals to allow the other end of the fuse assembly to engage the other terminal when the fuse assembly is pivoted. The pivotal connection is such so as to permit the fuse assembly to drop automatically to an open position following an interruption resulting from an overload or fault thereby establishing an open circuit condition. This increases safety and provides a visible indication of the open circuit condition. A latch is provided on the other terminal to engage releasably the other end of the fuse assembly to maintain the electrical connection between the two terminals.
