  • Patent number: 4947501
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for continuous wet-in-wet processing of a length of material in which a continuously regulated additional dosaging occurs using a treatment both of low content, the quantity of treatment liquor added being always exactly the quantity which has just been carried off by the outgoing length of material. In this way the bath concentration can be kept constant with a high degree of accuracy and the balance in the bath is also achieved quickly.

  • Patent number: 4939813
Abstract: An apparatus for removing the legs from the back portion of poultry includes a processing station (13) for use with an overhead conveyor from which the birds are suspended by their legs. The processing station (13) has a V-shaped guide plate (12) for receiving the back portion of a bird and means for advancing and gripping the bird. The advancing and gripping means comprises a chain (16) with outwardly projecting pins (17) extending about chain wheels (14, 15). The gripping and advancing means accelerate the back portion of the bird relative to the legs, and after cutting and scoring by cutters (19, 25, 31), the back portion is torn from the legs to leave the "oysters" attached to the legs.

  • Patent number: 4938343
Abstract: A preassembled display stand and container assembly comprises a rectangular box container including side panels and a bottom formed from interleaved flaps. A display stand has front and back walls and accordian foldable side walls with the front and back walls connected at their tops to opposed ones of the interleaved flaps. The stand is constructed and arranged to collapse to a flat configuration and wrap around the container to form a shipping configuration of the assembly, and the container and stand collapse laterally as an integrated unit to a flat stackable configuration of the assembly. When the stand is unfolded it supports the container and goods therein above the floor for display and sale.

  • Patent number: 4935984
Abstract: A vacuum refuse collecting vehicle has a tank divided into two hermetically sealed compartments by an internal sloped wall. The forward compartment functions as a water tank and the rear compartment as a waste containment tank. The capacity of the compartments can be increased by the addition of spacers to the cylindrical tank to make the tank longer, by changing the angle of the internal sloped wall, or by changing the depth of the concave end walls of the tank. The rear compartment is equipped with an upwardly tilting hinged concave tail gate for emptying the waste therefrom. The airstream which deposits the waste material in the tank is directed out of the tank into one or more bag filter housings, through an air pump, a silencer, and then to the surrounding atmosphere. The bag filters are so mounted and constructed that they may be removed through the bottom of the housings, thereby maintaining the upper portions of the housings substantially free of waste material.

  • Patent number: 4934197
Abstract: An indication is given of a method, and simultaneously of an apparatus, for measuring pressures and forces acting on arbitrarily shaped bodies. Employed in this connection is a piezoelectric film, which is provided on both sides with a metal coating. The piezoelectric film is bonded onto the body, and a charge variation of the piezoelectric film is evaluated in an evaluation unit, and employed as measure for the force acting on the body, or for the pressure. The metal coating (5) is partially removed from one side of the piezoelectric film (2) to form individual sensors (3, 4). Each individual sensor (3, 4) is coupled to the evaluation unit (10) via an electrical connection (8, 9). The other side of the piezoelectric film (2) with the continuous metal coating (5) serves as electronic shield and is connected to earth (7). The charge variation of each individual sensor (3, 4) serves as measure for the local force or the local pressure.
