  • Patent number: 4893378
Abstract: The deboner (10, 110) carries a plurality of modules (11, 111) in a closed path through a series of processing stations. Each module includes a rotary bone holder (30, 130) that supports one end of a poultry bone (85) and a stripper assembly (31, 131) that is moved toward and away from the bone holder. The stripper blades (55, 56, and 155, 156) engage the poultry part (86) as the stripper assembly is moved away from the bone holder to strip the meat (87) from the bone (85). As the blades (55, 56 and 155, 156) strip the meat from the bone, the rotary bone holder is rotated by its sprocket (36, 136) engaging the sprocket turning protrusions (45, 145).

  • Patent number: 4886005
Abstract: A thread undercut attachment for use on multi-needle sewing machines uses a single piston actuated cutting blade which passes through the sewing area beneath the workpiece and above the loopers. To prevent the needles and loopers from becoming unthreaded or to prevent undue lengths of thread after cutting, apparatus is provided for creating a measured amount of slack in the threads leading to the needles and loopers, and then holding the threads firmly to prevent further payout of thread when the workpiece is pulled toward the operator.

  • Patent number: 4884318
Abstract: A poultry defeathering apparatus [10] is provided including a support frame [11] and a pair of opposed banks of picking fingers [12,13] mounted thereon. First bank [12] is mounted to carriers [23,24] and second bank [13] is mounted to carriers [25,26], with each carrier [23-25] being movably mounted upon the support frame [11] to provide adjustment of the spacing of the banks of pickers. The first bank [12] is releasibly supported at one end upon first carrier [23] by means of a latch assembly [28] while a second end of the bank is pivotably supported upon second carrier [24] by means of a hinge assembly [29]. The hinge assembly [29] and the latch assembly [28] allow the first bank [12] to be pivoted about one end of the bank and away from the opposing bank [13], providing ready access to the picking fingers for maintenance and repair. A retractable support wheel assembly [40] is provided for supporting the end of the first bank [12] to be disengaged from the latch assembly [28] and swung open.

  • Patent number: 4884888
Abstract: A method and device for contactless optical measurement of distance changes, in which two light beams (5, 6) are directed from a measuring table (1) through an optical system (9) in such a manner that they intersect on the surface of the object (11) and in the event of distance changes, the measuring table (1) is adjusted until a scattered light maximum is produced. The light beams (5, 6) exhibit a frequency displacement relative to one another, so that the scattered light which is produced is modulated; this can readily be separated from interfering light by means of amplifiers (15) which are selective in frequency, and in this manner an accurate determination of the scattered light maximum is made possible.

  • Patent number: 4884779
Abstract: A mount for engine, gearbox or similar parts of a motor vehicle has a bearing body (1) of elastomer material, the bearing body (1) being subjected to tensile stress. In the bearing body (1), a self-contained liner (6) is provided, which is elastically deformable in the plane of the bearing body, is of extensible, resiliently compliant material and has an initially spread, unstretched initial shape. Until reaching a stretched position, the bearing body (1) alone is subjected to tensile stress. On exceeding the stretched position of the liner (6), bearing body (1) and liner (6) are subjected to tensile stress.

  • Patent number: 4878477
Abstract: A barbeque grill has an upwardly open housing and a food support grill positioned adjacent the opening. A gas burner includes a tubular heating element positioned within the housing and an external portion positioned on the outside of the housing. The burner external portion is in communication at one end with an end of the heating element and at its other end with a fuel source and the heating element has a number of holes formed along its length within the housing. The fuel is ignited within the external portion of the burner where it burns in torch-like fashion producing heat and pressure that moves into the heating element causing the heating element to become red hot with excess heat escaping through the holes in the heating element into the housing. A disposable cooking pan has a corrugated bottom with a plurality of openings formed therein and is adapted to be supported on the support grill for cooking food.

  • Patent number: 4876845
Abstract: A self-propelled powered mower (11) and a towed trailing mower (12) are connected together by an adjustable height connector assembly (13). When the powered mower begins to move through a turn, the alignment detector cylinder (60) is required to retract due to the pivoting of the draw bar (21) and its angled support arm about the vertical pivot pin (50) of the connector assembly (13) (FIG. 3). The fluid displaced from alignment detector cylinder (60) causes the rod (56) to extend from height adjustment cylinder (55), thereby raising the forward portion of the towed mower.

  • Patent number: 4877378
Abstract: A pneumatic vibratory diaphragm pump, having a casing (12, 14) comprising an upper chamber (17) having an inlet (59) by which air can be drawn from outside the casing and a lower chamber (16) having an outlet (N) from which air can issue from the casing, an oscillatory armature (22) within the lower chamber to actuate a diaphragm (28b) of at least one diaphragm and valve assembly (28, 30) and drive (80,20) to cause oscillatory movement of the armature. Each diaphragm and valve assembly is arranged so as to induce air to be pumped by it from the upper chamber and to discharge air into the lower chamber whereafter the discharged air is issued from said outlet. Venting means (70, 74, 76) is provided to allow air which has been discharged from the casing into a container to return therefrom and exhaust from the casing when the pump is inactive.
