Abstract: A pile jacket (15) is placed about a pile (14) before backfill earth (45) is filled in about the pile. The pile jacket (15) is formed of laminated sheet material (20) having opposed, parallel spaced outside sheets (21 and 22) and with intermediate supporting ribs (24) that maintain the outside sheets in spaced relationship. The indentations (48) made by the backfill earth (45, 46) in the pile jacket generally do not destroy the flat abutment of the inside sheet (21) with the surface of the pile, so that a slip plane is maintained between the pile jacket and the pile, permitting the pile jacket to move downwardly when the backfill material settles without transmitting a major downward load from the backfill material to the pile.
Abstract: A firearm trigger safety status signaling device includes electrically energizable audio and light signals that are mounted to a component of the trigger mechanism itself for actuation in response to movements of the trigger safety.
Abstract: A flashlight has a mounting plug by which it may be mounted to a vehicle dashboard socket at various orientations relative to the socket axis and at various rotary positions about the socket axis.
Abstract: Cookies 20 having irregularly shaped upper surfaces are received in an as-baked, horizontal attitude from the cookie oven first on a slick top belt conveyor 10, then on an edge abutment belt conveyor 11, where the cookies are delivered in edge abutment relationship to a timing belt 12. The timing belt delivers the cookies to cookie loading wheel 14 which reorients each cookie in series from the as-baked, horizontal attitude to an edge standing attitude and aligns each cookie with the preceeding cookie in the cell 56 or 57 of a turret 15. Once the cookies have been properly aligned in an edge standing attitude, the cookies are urged by the loading wheel into the cell, and after a predetermined number of cookies have been properly loaded, the turret is inverted so as to drop the cookies into an awaiting cookie tray 65.

Abstract: A chiropractic adjustment device for use in applying toggle recoil to a vertebrae comprises a headrest placed upon a set of compression springs mounted atop a base. The device includes a pair of latches that have a catch formed with a series of catch elements and a latch bar for catching and holding the headrest in various positions relative to the base.
Abstract: A rotary air lock feeder has a cylindrical chamber closed at opposite ends by end walls and a rotor mounted for rotary movement along the cylindrical chamber axis. A hopper is provided for feeding material into an upper portion of the chamber. A port is formed in each of the end walls to one side of a vertical plane extending through the cylindrical chamber axis at a height above the angle of natural repose of the material. So constructed, material fed into the chamber may be driven by the rotor to the bottom of the chamber and then lifted by the rotor to a position between the end wall ports and become evenly entrained in an airstream flowing through the chamber between the ports.
Abstract: A right angle clamp assembly holds two frame elements in a common plane and in angled abutment to form a mitered joint. Pneumatic cylinders are arranged to move the movable clamps of the right angle clamp assembly. A fastener tool has its discharge opening positioned on one side of the location where the mitered joint is to be formed, and a brace is positioned on the other side, with the brace being movable toward and away from the location of the mitered joint. The fastener tool is tiltable with respect to the right angle clamp assembly, and control means are provided for firing the fastener tool in response to the frame elements being gripped by the right angle clamp assembly. The fastener is inserted into the mitered joint at an angle formed by the frame elements to draw the mitered joint together.
Abstract: A marking and measuring tool has a set of channels in which a bar may be slid. The channels extend from a flat side face adapted to be placed flush against a side of a work piece with one side of each channel extending towards a common line located in the plane of the side face.
Abstract: The invention relates to a cabin-like cover, in particular for covering machines, in which the panels of the side walls have a U-shaped cross-section which is open towards the bottom and engages over a base frame so that the junction of the panels in the base frame is well protected against the entry of fluid and foreign bodies. In at least one side wall of the cabin-like cover a closure element is also provided and after it has been detached the individual panels of the side wall can be removed and thus later alterations to the side walls can be carried out without complete dismantling of the cabin-like cover.
Abstract: The invention relates to a tool for crimping, cutting, pressing or the like having a linear work path and a lever drive engaged between the gripping levers and the tool head, with two cover plates (1), each of which form an integrally enclosed frame and which are firmly connected to one another by an intermediately located, upper profile plate (2), and a lower profile plate (3) which can be moved up and down by the lever drive and is guided between the two cover plates (1) by a guide plate (16) being superimposed on the profile plate (3), which guide plate (16) extends into the frame (1), with the upper and lower profile plates (1,2), on the sides facing one another, forming or supporting tools which effect the crimping, cutting, pressing or the like.
Abstract: A self propelled riding mower includes a power unit (11) that pushes its cutter unit (12), and the units are connected together by an impact resistant pivot connection (25) which permits the cutter unit to pivot with respect to the power unit when travelling over uneven terrain. The pivot connection includes or is supplemented by bumpers (44, 45) carried by one unit in an array about or straddling the pivot bar (40) and pivot tube (58), and a bumper plate or plates (55) carried by the other unit that is or are maintained in sliding relationship with the bumpers.
Abstract: Apparatuses for mounting flashlights to bicycles have concave surfaces for directly supporting flashlights and which are releasibly held thereto by Velcro type material bearing straps. The apparatuses also have semi-cylindrical channels adapted to the placed in mating contact with bar elements of the bicycles and releasibly held thereto by other Velcro type material bearing straps.
Abstract: A rear support balance is utilized for measurement of the six components of he flight mechanics axis system for models mounted in wind tunnels. The balance has a balance body that is inserted between the model and the mounting. The balance body has an action beam 2 and a reaction beam 3 between which piezoelectric measurement pickups are arranged the respective emitted electric charge of which is a measure of the respective component.

Abstract: A mount for use in mounting objects to a side of a pickup truck comprises a clamp adapted to be clamped to a downturned flange of the side, an L-shaped safety bar adapted to be sandwiched between the clamp and flange with a portion overlaying the top of the side, and a bolt adapted to be passed through aligned holes in the clamp and safety bar in fastening the clamp to the flange.
Abstract: The floor is composed of parallel spaced beams (11) having flanges (12) and blocks (13) of polystyrene foam which are laid on the flanges to bridge the gaps between the beams. Boards (26) are laid on the polystyrene blocks, and are supported by the blocks, which form load-bearing members of the floor. The blocks may have flanged portions (14) extending over the beams, so as to provide heat insulation.
Abstract: The fitted bed sheet (22) and mattress pad (30) are connected together along the side edges (47 and 48) of the pad by stitching (49). The length of the pad and bed sheet are the same so that the foot and head portions (32 and 33) of the pad extend into and form a part of the foot and head skirts (25 and 26) of the pad-sheet (20). An elastic hem (35 and 36) is formed about the edges of the skirt at the foot and head of the pad-sheet.
Abstract: Previously eviscerated poultry carcasses with wings and saddle removed are moved on a series of carcass carriers (20) along a processing path with protrusions (32, 33) extending into the wing sockets of the carcass to hold the carcass on the carrier. A series of meat removing implements (46, 47, 60, 61, 62, 96, 116, 118 and 119) separate the meat from the skeletal structures of the carcass as the carcasses are moved along the processing path.
