  • Patent number: 4788749
Abstract: As turret 12 rotates on vertical axle 20, probe assemblies 14 are raised and lowered by cam track 29. Drive belt 76 engages the drive sheave 42 of the probes as the probes pass around the back of the machine, causing the probes to rotate about their longitudinal axes 46. Ring cam 48 urges cam sheaves 58 radially outwardly into engagement with the belt 76 to disengage the belt from the probe drive sheaves 42, so that the probes 34 rotate only during part of their revolution about the turret 12. Probe head 35 includes a stem 88 of parallelopiped cross section, with helical teeth 90 and 91 which extend at a radius from the acute angle into overlying relationship with respect to the obtuse angle of the stem.

  • Patent number: 4786226
Abstract: A connecting element for two machinery components or constructional components is provided with a threaded portion 4 used for fastening and an anti-fatigue portion 3 arranged axially displaced to the threaded portion 4 and consisting of several elevations 5 and grooves6, with the minor diameter d.sub.3R of the grooves 6 of the anti-fatigue portion 3 being made smaller than the minor diameter d.sub.3 of the threaded portion 4. The proportion is between 80 and 100%. The pitch diameter d.sub.2R of the anit-fatigue portion 3 consisting of the elevations 5 and the grooves 6 are larger than or the same as the pitch diameter d.sub.2 of the threaded portion 4.

  • Patent number: 4777677
Abstract: The mattress pad and fitted bed sheet (31) are formed by placing equal lengths of mattress pad material (58) and bed sheet material (61) in overlying relationship and sewing the narrower mattress pad material at its side edges to the sheet material. The combined work product is then cut to length, the end portions folded over, and the corners bevelled and sewn together. An elastic tape (48, 49) is applied to each end of the work product so as to draw the mattress pad and fitted bed sheet about the mattress. The structure enables the mattress pad and fitted bed sheet to stay in proper position even when applied to a foldable mattress (24) of a sofa bed (20), when the mattress is folded into its hidden position inside the sofa bed.

  • Patent number: 4773341
Abstract: Sheet material (30) is cut into rectangular segments (35). The segments are then moved parallel to their cut edges rapidly away from the cutting station into a slower operating first sewing station (40) where elastic bands are sewn to the cut head and foot edge portions of the segment. The rapidly moving trailing portion of the segment (35) of sheet material is temporarily accumulated at the accumulation station (39) and progressively fed at a lower rate from the accumulation station to the first sewing station. The head and foot edge portions are folded into overlying relationship with respect the main body portion by passing the main body portion through a U-shaped turn and at the same time passing the head and foot edge portions through a pair of 90 degree turns. Sewing machines are moved first inwardly and then outwardly across the folded edge portions of the segment, thus forming the sewn line of chain stitching at the corners of the bedsheet.

  • Patent number: 4771906
Abstract: The invention relates to a telescopic cover (1) in which the individual cover boxes (2, 2', 2") comprise a top wall (3, 3', 3"), two side walls and a rear wall (4, 4', 4") and the extending movement of the cover boxes is limited by a stop (11). At least for connection of the rear wall (4) to the top wall (3) an elongated profile (9) is provided which has parallel flanges (11, 12) on one broad side between which the top wall is retained and of which the outer flange (11) at the same time forms the said stop, whilst the inner flange (12) at the same time forms an assembly stop for the rear wall (4). This results in a particularly quick and precise assembly of the individual cover boxes.

  • Patent number: 4769872
Abstract: Birds 24 are placed on bird support mandrels 22 and their wings are spread into the recesses 68 at the peripheral portion of the rotary carrier wheel 11. As the wheel 11 rotates, the wings are severed from the carcasses by the wing cutters 12 and 13, the carcasses transferred to the carcass carrier 14, where the breasts are split longitudinally by the breast cutter 42 and the backbones of the carcasses are cut out by the backbone cutters 49 and 50. In the meantime, the previously cut-away wings continue to move with the rotary carrier wheel 11 where they are guided and cut apart at their joints by blade members 90-92.
