  • Patent number: 5014539
Abstract: A crimp press having an eccentric guide in which an eccentric tang having a bearing runs. In contrast to the known eccentric guides, the eccentric guide is not straight but instead has a curved region on one side. As a result, during the first 90.degree. of the eccentric shaft rotation, the tappet covers the greatest part of the stroke path, and in the second 90.degree. of rotation of the eccentric shaft, only a short stroke path is executed, during which the deformation of the contact takes place. A crimp press with the eccentric guide has a more lightweight structure, is equipped with a smaller reduction gear and requires a lower rotational speed of the drive motor, as compared to conventional crimp presses.

  • Patent number: 5006062
Abstract: A process for thermal treatment of solid particles in a fluidized bed wherein the solid particles by thermal treatment form a lighter weight fraction and a heavier weight fraction, relative to the total contents of the bed. The process is characterized by use of a selective heavier particle discharge conduit in the sloping bed support and maintenance of a discrete fluid fueled flame in close proximity to and above the opening to the heavier particle discharge conduit. This forms a higher temperature zone in and surrounding the flame, at least about 100.degree. F. higher than the remainder bed temperature. Circulation of solid particles through the flame and its surrounding higher temperature region is promoted both by directing of fluidization gas jets in the fluidized bed support and by the jetting action of the upwardly flowing heavier particle discharge gas.

  • Patent number: 5000104
Abstract: A trimming pressure foot that can be interchangeably attached to a sewing machine includes one scissors blade fixedly attached to a pressure foot and one scissors blade pivotable about a shaft. The cutting motion is derived from the up-and-down motion of a needle drive rod. To this end, a pivot lever which is essentially in the shape of an inverted T is used. The pivot lever is pivotable about a shaft connected to the pressure foot, and its upwardly protruding arm rests with spring pressure on a needle securing screw. A flank of the arm resting on the screw forms an acute angle with the path of motion of the needle drive rod. In operation of the sewing machine, the up-and-down motion of the needle drive rod is converted into a pivoting motion of the pivot lever. The pivoting motion of the lever is transmitted onto the pivotable cutting blade by a tang secured to the pivot lever and by engaging the inside of a slit of the blade.
