Abstract: An efficient economical process is provided to produce an intricate impressive display with outstanding marketing and advertising appeal. In the process, a grid and multiple images are formed, such as on a central processing unit, the images are masked and striped, and portions thereof are superimposed. The grid can be printed on a front web. The superimposed masked images can be printed on an underlying back web. The display produced by the special process can be used to form an attractive sign, billboard, educational game, toy, box, wrapper and other packaging.

The high performance grease can comprise a base oil, an aluminum soap thickener, extreme pressure wear-resistant additives comprising tricalcium phosphate and calcium carbonate, and a water-resistant high performance polymer.
Abstract: A filter device for cleaning water and having a reinforcing member for preventing reduction of filtering area due to deformation of filter membrane. The filter device comprises a generally cylindrical casing and a filter element contained in said casing for passing water from the primary side thereof to the secondary side thereof, the filter element including a corrugated filter membrane and a reinforcing member for supporting the corrugated filter membrane. The filter device is particularly suited for use together with a powdered absorbent such as activated carbon.
Abstract: Effective quenching is provided in a catalytic cracking unit to increase product yield and decrease thermal cracking. For increased benefits, the quench is injected at special locations. In the illustrated embodiment, the quench is injected into the oil product immediately downstream of an external gross cut separator before the product enters a disengaging vessel.

Abstract: Effective quenching is provided in a catalytic cracking unit to increase product yield and decrease thermal cracking. Advantageously, the quench is injected at special locations. In the illustrated embodiment, the quench is injected into the oil product immediately downstream of the oil product exit of an internal gross cut separator in a disengaging vessel.

Abstract: The inventive procedure more accurately maintains an inventory of a catalyst in an ebullated bed of a reactor in an oil refinery, especially a resid hydrotreating unit. The ebullated catalyst bed has therein three phases (catalyst, oil, gas). A first density measurement is made of the two-phase mixture in a freeboard zone i.e. in a catalyst free area above the ebullated catalyst. A second density measurement is made in the catalyst bed where all three phases are present. Density measurements are used, along with values for vapor, liquid, and soaked particle densities and corrections for gamma-ray absorption coefficients, to calculate the catalyst particle holdup in the vessel. From this, the amount of catalyst actually in the reactor can be calculated. Once this amount is known, fresh catalyst may be added to or spent catalyst may be removed from the reactor in order to maintain a fixed catalyst inventory within the catalyst bed.
Abstract: The infrared dual beam hydrogen fluoride (HF) gas detector comprises a light source for generating a light beam, a reference filter which passes light at a wavelength in the infrared range, such wavelength light being highly not absorbed by HF gas, an HF sensing filter which passes light at a wavelength in the infrared range, such wavelength light being highly absorbed by HF gas, structure for directing the light beam through a space containing vapor under investigation and alternately through each filter, a first sensor for sensing the light transmitted through the reference filter and for generating a first signal, a second sensor for sensing the light transmitted through the HF sensing filter and for generating a second signal, first circuitry for demodulating and amplifying the first signal generated by light transmitted through the reference filter, second circuitry for demodulating and amplifying the second signal generated by light transmitted through the HF sensing filter, and a comparator for compari
Abstract: A water purifier comprising a primary filter for removing residual chlorine and other impurities, a secondary filter disposed downstream of the primary filter for removing microorganisms and antimicrobial means disposed between the primary filter and the secondary filter. The water purifier of the invention can be used for long time since the proliferation of microorganism, which causes clogging of the secondary filter, is effectively prevented.
Abstract: Effective quenching is provided in a catalytic cracking process to increase product yield and decrease thermal cracking. To this end, the quench is injected at special locations and a special quench is used. In the illustrated embodiment, the quench is injected into the oil product immediately downstream of an external gross cut separator before the product enters a disengaging vessel and the quench comprises cycle oil.

Abstract: An aquatic exercise boot is provided for interchangeable and comfortable use by men, women and children alike. The aquatic exercise boot permits a large range of movement and increased resistive forces, torque and torsion. The aquatic exercise boot serves as fluid resistors to water flow as the aquatic boot is moved through the water. The aquatic exercise boot can have internally padded aquatic foot, ankle, and leg assemblies with symmetrical Z-shaped fins. The aquatic foot, ankle, and leg assemblies can be pivotally connected to each other by vertical hinges and can be strapped, sewn, fastened, glued, or otherwise connected to a zippered elastomeric aquatic sock with an open toe portion.
Abstract: The anti-theft device for use in a liquid storage tank having an opening in an upper wall of the tank for receiving and mounting an access fill pipe which receives therein a drop tube having an access port. The anti-theft device comprises a mounting ring; a plug; a truncated porous hollow cone having a larger upper end fixed to the mounting ring and a smaller lower end fixed to the plug which is disposed generally concentric with the elongate axis of the drop tube. The plug may also be provided with a shaped key-way opening to allow gauging of liquid contents of a storage tank with a gauge level stick. The mounting ring of the truncated porous hollow cone is attached to the drop tube within the access fill pipe at a point below the access port of the drop tube and above the upper wall of the storage tank. The key-way opening of the plug can be T-shaped, cross-shape, C-shape, or of a circular-shape.

Abstract: An early meltdown process of wax sweating is provided which enhances the efficiency, quality, product yield, and throughput of wax. In the early meltdown process, slack wax is crystallized. The crystallized was is then sweated while simultaneously draining the liquid drippings from the sweating oven. The congealing point of the liquid drippings are monitored. When the congealing point of the liquid drippings indicate that the melting temperature of the desired wax product has been obtained, sweating and drainage are stopped, and the remaining solid bed of wax in the sweating oven is rapidly melted and subsequently upgraded.

Abstract: A process of concurrently dedusting and upgrading particulate laden raw, whole retort oil is provided which comprises the steps of: retorting solid hydrocarbon-containing material such as oil shale to liberate an effluent stream of dust laden hydrocarbons; injecting the dust-laden retort effluent product stream into a catalytic hydrotreater; agitating the product stream in the hydrotreater to constantly maintain the particulates in suspension within the oil; catalytically hydrotreating the agitated product stream in the presence of a hydroprocessing gas at a pressure of from 500 to 3000 psi, a temperature of from 650.degree. to 850.degree. F. and a space velocity of from 0.1 to 6.0 hr.sup.-1, whereby the suspended particulates are agglomerated to facilitate solid-liquid separation and substantial amounts of sulfur and nitrogen contaminants are simultaneously removed from the resulting ungraded oil; and mechanically separating the agglomerated particulates from the upgraded whole oil.
