Abstract: An apparatus and method for replacing the gripping member of the handle of a bucket. The replacement gripping member includes a plurality of interfitting pieces which can be installed on the handle of a bucket without requiring that the handle be removed from the bucket.
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for exercising a hand. A doughnut-shaped elastomer is provided. The elastomer is held with the bottom portion nested in the bottom of the palm of the hand and with the top portion gripped by the four fingers of the hand. As the fingers squeeze the elastomer, the top portion of the elastomer rolls or twists while the bottom portion of the elastomer remains stationary in the palm of the hand. The twisting of the top portion causes the elastomer to bow or arch into the hand, supporting the hand and generating a comfortable sensation in the hand while the elastomer is compressed with the fingers.
Abstract: A method and apparatus facilitate the efficient, safe use of storage space in a building structure. The apparatus stores hand tools of differing shape and dimension in a compact area in nested, canted storage units shaped to receive the handles of tools.
Abstract: A surveillance system for the entryway of a residence utilizes an existing peephole in a door to install a camera and utilizes the existing telephones in a residence to communicate from within the residence with an individual standing in the entryway.
Abstract: An access system for a building structure includes an access opening formed in the structure and a horizontally oriented track extending across the opening. Panels are slidably mounted on the track. A pulley—track system opens and closes the panels. The system is controlled with a manually operated control panel mounted on the building structure.
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for drilling for petroleum. The method and apparatus circulate drilling mud through a particle separation apparatus that rapidly removes clay and other chemical additives. The drilling method and apparatus of the invention drastically reduces the amount of water required to drill a petroleum well, processes drilling mud at the well site, and produces water that can be broadcast on ground adjacent the well site, that can be introduced into deep water injection wells, or that can be given to livestock.
Abstract: An improved landscape watering system is provided that simplifies the installation and maintenance of multiple underground water control valves, that permits the on-site configuration of valve-electrical boxes, that limits egress of insects and other living creatures into a valve-electrical boxes, and that facilitates labeling of a valve-electrical box. The box includes configurable, sealable openings and a water permeable bottom that prevents egress of insects and other living creatures.
Abstract: A construction system includes a building structure, grounds adjacent the building structure, and artificial structures in the grounds. The artificial structures includes a water system with a valve box. The valve box includes a cover. The system also includes means for dissimulating the cover, and for preventing stones and other particles from penetrating and accumulating in the box to adversely affect operation of valves in the box.
Abstract: Food dispensing apparatus minimizes the likelihood that food particles dispensed into an aquarium will contaminate the water filtration system or will stick to the sides of the aquarium. The food dispensing system suspends a hollow food dispensing member in water in the aquarium such that the food dispensing member guides food to the bottom of the aquarium free from being transported by prevailing currents in the aquarium.
Abstract: A high efficiency heat-dissipating dome lamp utilizes convex centralized optics and tiered venting to house concurrently inwardly canted compact fluorescent lights, ballast for the lights, and an emergency ballast system.

Abstract: Apparatus for abstracting heat comprises a container charged with a first liquid and with small auxiliary containers free to circulate in the first liquid. Each of the small auxiliary containers is charged with a second liquid. The first and second liquids each have a selected temperature of transformation that facilitates use of the apparatus to heat or cool a substance contacted by the apparatus.
Abstract: Apparatus for storing and dispensing kitchen articles includes an upstanding grate adapted to hang kitchen articles, to house kitchen articles, and to dispense kitchen articles. The kitchen articles can be stored and dispensed from locations inside of and outside of the grate.
Abstract: A system for sealing one end of a first air duct with an adjacent overlapping end of a second air duct incorporates multiple sealing components. One of the sealing components interacts and activates another of the sealing components. One of the sealing components mechanically compressively elastically deforms another of the sealing components.
Abstract: A power trowel is provided for finishing concrete. The trowel can be used to finish concrete at different stages of hardening. The handle of the trowel is rotated both to adjust the speed of rotation of the trowel blades and the cant of the trowel blades.
Abstract: A water resistant covering covers a part of the body, prevents water from penetrating the covering, and can be emplaced on the body with a single hand.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for collecting and processing granular material admixes granular material with a fluid to produce a slurry and then removes and processes the slurry. The apparatus enables fluid flowing into the apparatus to be directed substantially simultaneously between a first conduit for admixing granular material with the fluid to produce a slurry and a second conduit for producing suction to remove the slurry.
Abstract: A system for processing a product includes a sequence of process steps, at least one machine in each of the process steps, and a plurality of lots in the queue of the first machine. Each lot includes at least one unit of the product, a memory, and a first transmitter-receiver operatively associated with the memory. The memory identifies at least one of a pair including the lot, a unit of product. The system also includes a second transmitter-receiver device and a control operatively associated the second transmitter receiver device and the first machine to generate signals causing the second transmitter-receiver device to communicate with the first transmitter-receiver device and the memory in each of the lots to provide the memory with the time required for the first machine to process the lot.
Abstract: A improved method and apparatus is provided for encapsulating earthworm cocoons. The method and apparatus coat the cocoons with a Histosol soil to produce an encapsulated cocoon having a size and weight comparable to that of a selected crop seed. The method and apparatus of the invention decrease the mortality of earthworm eggs and help prevent the separation of encapsulated cocoons from crop seed after the cocoons are admixed therewith.
Abstract: A method is provided for servicing a telecommunication junction box. The method enables a reduced number of tools to be utilized to service a telecommunication junction box.
