Abstract: An identification band and method for fitting the same to an individual's wrist. The ends of the band overlap when the band is applied around an individual's wrist. The band is constructed so the band can be adjusted to fit different sizes of wrists and allow the end to overlap without requiring that one of the ends be cut to size the band.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for assembling a drip irrigation system includes a drip irrigation member with a connector and includes a length of tubing. The tubing has an end. A securing member is mounted on the end of the tubing. The end is slidably forced over the connector. The securing member is rolled along the tubing to a position at which the securing member elastically circumferentially compresses the tubing against the connector.
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for video conferencing. The method and apparatus continuously receive frames from a plurality of video channels and alternately continuously transmit to each of a plurality of participants in a video conference individual frames containing information concerning each of the video channels. The method and apparatus only transmits at any given instant new picture data for one of the participants in the video conference.
Abstract: A stand stores long-handled garden tools. The tools are removed from the stand to be used. The stand is unusually compact and permits a plurality of garden tools to be stored in close proximity to one another. The distal end of a garden tool is slidably received by a sleeve formed in the stand. The sleeve is shaped to contact the distal end of the tool and maintain the tool in a substantially vertical orientation while permitting the tool to generate a force which forces the stand against the ground.
Abstract: A method and apparatus mounts one or more optical fibers in a channel in a track along the periphery of a pool. The method and apparatus prevent slurry from entering the channel during the construction of a coping along the pool periphery. The track is mounted in the coping.
Abstract: A method is provided for dispersing pigeons from a building structure in which the pigeons roost. The method utilizes a horizontally oriented light beam. The light beam is positioned two to six inches above the surface on which the pigeons roost. The beam, when it is normal to a pigeon's eye and strikes the eye, causes the pigeon discomfort and makes it fly away from the building structure. The beam is utilized for at least three consecutive days.

Abstract: Pitching apparatus delivers a sequence of different kinds of pitches to a batter and prevents a batter from ascertaining from the position of the pitching apparatus the kind of pitch which the apparatus will deliver.
Abstract: A washed sand drying and handling plant (100) includes a belt feed hopper (1), a conveyor belt (2), a sand rinsing unit (3), a dewatering apparatus (4), a radial conveyor (5) and a sand drying and handling apparatus (6). The sand drying and handling apparatus (6) includes four vesssels or tanks (7). Each tank (7) is generally cylindrically shaped and has a cone-shaped base. Sand is held in the tanks (7) for a predetermined amount of time sufficient to allow the sand to dry to the desired level by gravity.
Abstract: Apparatus for abstracting heat comprises a container charged with a first liquid and with small auxiliary containers free to circulate in the first liquid. Each of the small auxiliary containers is charged with a second liquid. The freezing point of the first liquid is less than the second liquid such that when the second liquid is frozen, the first liquid is not, is free to circulate, and permits the auxiliary containers to circulate in the first liquid.
Abstract: A method for soldering pipes configures the pipes being soldered such that water running through the pipes is not permitted to pool in the pipes. The method also configures the pipes to facilitate sealing of the pipes after the soldering is completed.
Abstract: A method and apparatus forms stacks of paper sheets. Each stack is offset from adjacent stacks. The method and apparatus prevent the top sheet of a first stack of paper from being frictionally dragged out of position when the initial sheet of paper in a second stack slides over the top sheet of the first stack. The method and apparatus clamp the forward edge of the top sheet in the first stack to hold the top sheet in position when the initial sheet of paper in the second stack slides over the top sheet.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for promoting the sale of a showerhead enables a prospective customer to evaluate the showerhead in a relaxed setting and separate from competing showerheads, while at the same time providing in a fixed, permanent, readily viewed location the information necessary to contact the manufacturer or seller of the showerhead.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for texturing a wall. The method selects a texture pattern and provides a corner bead with the selected texture. After the corner bead is mounted, the same texture pattern is formed on drywall adjacent the corner bead, after which the texture pattern on the drywall is painted along with the corner bead.
Abstract: A water resistant covering covers a part of the body, prevents water from penetrating the covering, and can be emplaced on the body with a single hand.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing the risk that a thrown toy will injure an animal. The apparatus consists of a toy which when thrown bounces erratically, which compressively elastically deforms, which includes a soft fabric outer surface that compresses to absorb blows, and which can withstand being bitten or chewed by a dog.
Abstract: A bearing sleeve and method for manufacturing the same enable a bearing to be placed in a captive position in the sleeve by inserting the bearing into a slot in the sleeve and then slidably rotating the bearing to the captive position.
Abstract: A kit for assembly into a wall-mounted decor unit. The kit includes a laminate board, a fabric cover, and fasteners for attaching the laminate board to a wall. The laminate board includes sections folded in zig-zag fashion along lines of weakening. The sections of the laminate board can only be folded away from the lines of weakening. The fabric cover is slidably, removably mounted on the laminate board after the laminate board is unfolded and mounted on a wall.
Abstract: A utility knife include a handle, a neck pivotally mounted on the handle, and a blade mounted in the neck. The neck can be folded into the handle to transport the utility knife. The blade is slidably removably inserted into and from the handle without requiring disassembly of the handle.
Abstract: A business form is disassembled and manipulated to prepare a plurality of different labels each utilizing a different structure to attach the label to an object. The labels facilitate the correlation of a vehicle and the keys for the vehicle.
