Abstract: A terminal adapter, along with a value added network, is disclosed that interworks a plurality of terminals with a processing host to accomplish transaction processing. The terminals can use different protocols and typically incorporate card readers for completing financial or other types of transactions typically involving credit, debit, ATM or similar cards. The terminal adapter provides reliable and secure communication using a network based in part on the Internet as a primary form of communication. The terminal adapter also provides a secondary communication path in the event of a failure of the primary communication path, as well as automatic recognition of different terminal protocols, various security functions, error detection, and other network administration functions to ensure a flexible system and efficient transaction processing system.
Abstract: The present invention provides biomarkers for the diagnosis and prognosis of endometriosis. Generally, the methods of this invention find use in diagnosing or for providing a prognosis for endometriosis by detecting the expression levels of biomarkers, which are differentially expressed (up- or down-regulated) in endometrial cells from a patient with endometriosis. Similarly, these markers can be used to diagnose reduced fertility in a patient with endometriosis or to provide a prognosis for a fertility trial in a patient suffering from endometriosis. The present invention also provides methods of identifying a compound for treating or preventing endometriosis. Finally, the present invention provides kits for the diagnosis or prognosis of endometriosis.

Moreover, the present invention presents an agent for improving oral absorption that increases drug permeability of the digestive tract mucous membrane and/or mucous layer present on the surface of this membrane, whose active ingredient is aminoalkyl methacrylate copolymer E. In addition, the present invention presents an oral agent for improving absorption by increasing drug permeability of the digestive tract mucous membrane and/or the mucous layer distributed over this mucous membrane, whose effective component is aminoalkyl methacrylate copolymer E.
Abstract: The present invention provides for immunoliposomes that optimizes internalization of a drug into target cells bearing a characteristic cell surface marker. The immunoliposomes comprise an Fab? domain of an antibody that specifically binds the characteristic marker, an amphipathic vesicle-forming lipid, and a polyethylene glycol derivatized lipid. The invention also provides for growth-inhibiting immunoliposomes that lack growth-inhibiting therapeutic agents and yet are capable of inhibiting the growth and proliferation of target cells.

The semiconductor power module package includes a substrate, semiconductor chips arranged on a top surface of the substrate, and a temperature sensor mounted on a top surface of at least one of the semiconductor chips. The semiconductor chips and the temperature sensor are electrically connected to each other through leads. A sealing material covers the top surface of the substrate, the semiconductor chips, and the temperature sensor except for portions of the leads and a bottom surface of the substrate. The temperature sensor may include a thermistor, and the thermistor may include first and second electrode terminals connected to corresponding leads of the leads. A first wiring pattern may be in contact with the first electrode terminal, and a second wiring pattern may be in contact with the second electrode terminal.
Abstract: An image rendering method for a computer system includes identifying a point in space to be illuminated from at least one line light for the point, and determining an illumination direction of the line light. The method further includes generating a plane passing through the point, and projecting the line light onto the plane. The method further includes determining a brightness contribution for the point responsive to a function characterizing the brightness contribution.
Abstract: A computer system includes a composition enabler configured to enforce an execution policy associated with a responder in response to a request from a requestor, configured to send the request to the responder, and configured to compose a response with a function from the group: a function that must be executed before the request reaches the responder, a function that must be executed after a response from the responder.
Abstract: The present invention provides methods, systems, and code for accurately classifying whether a sample from an individual is associated with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) or a clinical subtype thereof. In particular, the present invention is useful for classifying a sample from an individual as an IBD sample using a statistical algorithm and/or empirical data. The present invention is also useful for differentiating between a clinical subtype of IBD such as Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) using a statistical algorithm and/or empirical data. Thus, the present invention provides an accurate diagnostic prediction of IBD or a clinical subtype thereof and prognostic information useful for guiding treatment decisions.

Abstract: Embodiments in accordance with the present invention allow a second end-point determination (EPD) system to actively control the end-pointing of a semiconductor process chamber, by leveraging a legacy EPD system that is already integrated with the chamber. In one embodiment, the second EPD system controls a shutter that regulates the amount of light transmitted between a plasma light source and an optical emission spectroscopy (OES) sensor of the legacy OES EPD system. In this embodiment, the legacy OES EPD system is pre-configured to call end-point when an artificial end-point condition occurs, i.e. the intensity of light falls below a pre-set threshold. When the second EPD system determines an actual end-point condition has been reached, it closes the shutter which, causes the light intensity being read by the OES sensor to fall below the pre-set threshold. This in turn triggers an end-point command to the chamber from the legacy OES EPD system.
