Abstract: The present invention describes an aircraft having a rotating engine. The aircraft comprises a means for rotating the engine 360° to allow directional control of the aircraft via rotation of the engine's thrust output. The aircraft can further comprise a plurality of flap members located on the wings of the aircraft and in communication with the rotating gas turbine engine to further control and stabilize flight of the aircraft. The gas turbine engine of the aircraft can comprise a compressor, a combustion chamber, and at least two turbines mounted oppositely to the combustion chamber, such that the gas turbine engine is capable of generating more thrust from a single engine.
Abstract: A method of using a framing system for adjustably connecting building components comprising an outer stud, an interior support member, and a connecting clip.
Abstract: A device and method for providing a support for framing an opening. The device comprises generally a first stud, a second stud, and a connector to form a jamb stud connection assembly. Each of the first stud and the second stud comprises a web, a pair of flanges, and a pair of returns. The connector comprises an elevation, a pair of side flanges, and a pair of terminal flanges. The first stud and the second stud are secured together by the connector such that the elevation of the connector is flush with and attached to the web of the first stud, and the terminal flanges of the connector are flush with and attached to the web of the second stud. The jamb stud connection assembly may be vertically installed inside a wall adjacent to the opening.
Abstract: This invention characterizes the selective apoptotic activity of specially prepared zinc charged alpha 1-acid glycoprotein, alpha 2-HS glycoprotein, and alpha 1-antitrypsin. These proteins cause apoptosis in cancer cells while leaving normal cells intact. In addition, active fragments of zinc charged alpha 1-acid glycoprotein and alpha 2-HS glycoprotein, whether manufactured from the modification of natural alpha 1-acid glycoprotein or alpha 2-HS glycoprotein, recombinantly, or synthetically, selectively induce apoptosis.
Abstract: A blender blade assembly, blade unit, and blade assembly for mixing materials. Blender blade assembly includes a center portion that defines an axis of rotation for the assembly. The assembly includes a lower double-sided blade coupled to the center portion. The lower blade includes blade sections that extend from the center portion. In addition, the assembly includes an upper double-sided blade coupled to the center portion. The upper blade includes blade sections that extend from the center portion. The lower and upper blades are separated by a partition. One blade section of the upper blade has a top sheered portion and the other blade section has a bottom sheered portion. One blade section of the lower blade has a top sheered portion along with a blade tip pointed downwards, while the other blade section has a bottom sheered portion along with a blade tip pointed upwards.
Abstract: A low profile high power Schottky barrier bypass diode for solar cells and panels with the cathode and anode electrodes on the same side of the diode and a method of fabrication thereof are disclosed for generating a thin chip with both electrodes being on the same side of the chip. In an embodiment, a mesa isolation with a Zener diode over the annular region surrounding the central region of the mesa anode in the Epi of the substrate is formed. In an embodiment, a P-type Boron dopant layer is ion implanted in the annular region for the Zener Diode. This controls recovery from high voltage spikes from the diode rated voltage. A Schottky barrier contact for the anode and a contact for the cathode are simultaneously created on the same side of the chip.
Abstract: A device and method for mixing and applying hair coloring chemicals to a user's hair. The device comprises a brush applicator, a first compartment capable of holding the brush applicator in a locked position, a second compartment containing a first hair coloring chemical, a third compartment containing a second hair coloring chemical, and a membrane. The membrane is located between the second compartment and the third compartment such that the first hair coloring chemical is separated from the second hair coloring chemical by the membrane when the brush applicator is in the locked position. When the brush applicator is released from the locked position, the brush applicator is movable toward the membrane to puncture the membrane. Upon puncture, the membrane retracts to a peripheral edge of the membrane to cause the first hair coloring chemical and the second hair coloring chemical to be mixed together.

Abstract: A green phosphor for emitting light, a spectrum of which is sharp, in an ultraviolet and visible light region, which has higher green light brightness than the conventional rare earth-activated sialon phosphor and has higher durability than the conventional oxide phosphor, is provided. The phosphor being characterized in that Al and a metal element M (here, M is Eu) are incorporated into a crystal of a nitride or oxynitride having a ?-type Si3N4 crystal structure as a solid solution, the content of oxygen in the crystal does not exceed 0.8% by mass, and the phosphor emits a visible light having a luminescence peak wavelength in the range of 450 nm to 650 nm upon exposure to an excitation source is provided. This luminescence spectrum has a sharp spectrum shape. A manufacturing method of the phosphor, a lighting device and an image display device utilizing the phosphor are also provided.

Abstract: A blue fluorescent material having excellent durability and a high luminance, especially one emitting a high-luminance light by the action of electron rays. The fluorescent material comprises inorganic crystals having a crystal structure which is an AlN crystalline, AlN polycrystalline, or AlN solid-solution crystalline structure. It is characterized in that the inorganic crystals contain at least europium in solution and have an oxygen content of 0.4 mass % or lower and that the fluorescent material emits fluorescence derived from divalent europium ions upon irradiation with an excitation source. More preferably, the fluorescent material contains a given metallic element and silicon. Also provided are a process for producing the fluorescent material and an illuminator including the blue fluorescent material.

Abstract: A bracketing system is provided having two brackets joined by a flexible adhesive material that allows bridging or backing members of variable lengths and widths to be mounted between vertical studs to enhance stability of the wall construction. A wall construction assembly according to an embodiment of the invention comprises two vertical studs and a bridge backing member mounted there between by a bracketing system, which includes a left bracket and a right bracket connected by a flexible adhesive material. Because the bridge backing member can be adjustably sized to be secured on the brackets, it can be sized to fit between studs regardless of any variation in the spacing of the studs. This obviates the need to prefabricate bridge backing members to fit between variably spaced studs. The bridge backing member can be mounted flush with the stud to eliminate unevenness in the wall structure. Bridge or backing members of various widths and lengths can be mounted to the bracketing system.
