  • Patent number: 6360258
Abstract: A method is provided for providing multiple variable retrievals and setting within one SnmpRequest. The method forms packet data units with object identifiers (OIDs). The OIDs are packet specific for a particular request in an object management system using SNMP (simple network management protocol) attributes, the object management system including a plurality of objects and procedures for accessing the objects. The object management system is accessible over a network and associated with a network-attached device. The method includes providing the object management system with a plurality of classes providing descriptions of things that can be accessed. A SnmpSessions class establishing connection between the object management system and connected devices is also provided. Call back arguments are received at the network management station from the device. A SNMP application programmer interface (API) provides elements needed for connection.

  • Patent number: 6354214
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to prevent waste when printing is made on a paper web threaded through a detour web path from a printing unit to a folding unit via other printing units in such a manner that printing images are changed while the web is being transported by changing over a plurality of printing units through which the web is passed. The control section of each printing units having a detour web path is adapted so that it can produce a phase correction value so as to correct a drive reference speed signal with a signal relating to the difference between a drive reference phase and a corrected phase and a feedback speed signal.

  • Patent number: 6356806
Abstract: A method for handling the voltage drop, at least in the control unit of a robot with a PC control is provided that minimizes the time of a plant stoppage and avoids wasteful process interruptions. The PC control has a real time operating system for the time critical control and regulation of the robot movement and a standard PC operating system for communication with an operator. In the case of a voltage drop a battery/accumulator operation takes place with running robot movement and optionally application operations broken off or ended in a clearly defined manner. Then, working processes of the control are terminated. The contents of the working memory at the termination time concerning the real time operating system and robot control programs are stored, particularly as an image, in at least one mass memory. For restarting the robot after such a stoppage thereof the standard PC operating system is loaded in the conventional manner into the working memory and started.
