Abstract: A process for operating an incubator particularly suitable for a certain type of care (“kangaroo care”) is disclosed. The process is activated by device of an input element at a time t0. A measuring and control unit controls the heating device as a function of the temperature measured by the temperature sensor, of which there is at least one, in the interior space of the incubator such that the temperature measured in the interior space of the incubator during a preceding time period t0-t1 is used as the set point for the temperature in the interior space of the incubator. The skin temperature of the patient, which is determined by the second temperature sensor is compared with preset upper and/or lower temperature limit values for the skin temperature and an alarm is triggered by the measuring and control unit when these limit values are overshoot and/or undershot.
Abstract: A variable spring constant type damper filed with visco fluid which has a great damping effect over a wide frequency band from a low frequency band to a high frequency band and to suppress a resonance magnification at a resonance frequency of a supported body. It is such constituted that the changes are given to a flexible portion (9) made of an elastic body like rubber connecting the flexible portion (9) and a cylindrical portion (8), whereby a spring constant is allowed to depend upon an amplitude.
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a high-gloss, heat-resistant paint composition that can form a paint film having high gloss, hiding power, heat resistance and adhesion, a method for manufacturing the same, a method for applying a high-gloss, heat-resistant paint, and a high-gloss, heat-resistant paint film. The heat-resistant paint composition is prepared by combining inorganic pigment powder having hiding power and a binder solution chiefly consisting of an alcoholic solution of polysilicon alcoxide; the binder solution containing an effective amount of aluminum ingredient; the composition contains 8˜50 wt. % of hydrophilic organic solvent having a boiling point of not less than 100° C. and not more than 220° C.; the average particle size of primary particles of the inorganic pigment powder dispersed in the binder solution being not more than 0.3 &mgr;m; and the solidified paint film obtained when the composition has been dried and baked contains not less than 60 vol.

Abstract: A gearshift lever (1) for an automatic transmission in a motor vehicle is provided with a knob (4) arranged at the top end of the gearshift lever member. A locking bar (2) is guided axially on the gearshift lever. A manually movable mechanism (5, 7) actuates the locking bar (2) relative to the gearshift lever (1). Two parts of the mechanism (5, 7) have teeth (6, 8) engaging one another. These parts are arranged such that a movement of at least one of the parts (5) toward the locking bar (2) brings about an axial movement of the locking bar (2). At least one of the two toothed segments (6; 8) extends along a curve, and the effective power ratio through a first of two curve radii is greater than the power ratio of the second radius.

Abstract: A brake power booster with a brake power booster housing has at least one vacuum chamber and at least an additional pressure chamber, into which ambient pressure can be admitted during the actuation of an actuating pedal for the brake system of the motor vehicle. The actuating pedal is connected to the brake power booster. A vacuum can be established in the pressure chamber in the non-operative position of the actuating pedal, wherein the vacuum chamber and the pressure chamber are separated from one another by a displaceable piston. The brake power booster has at least one additional vacuum chamber, which can be connected to the pressure chamber via a switching device. The switching device establishes the connection between the pressure chamber and the additional vacuum chamber during the return of the actuating pedal after the actuation process.
Abstract: A breathing gas mixture is provided for the treatment of lung diseases, containing an amount of perfluorocarbon and oxygen containing 5 vol. % to 40 vol. % of perfluorocarbon relative to the amount of perfluorocarbon and oxygen. The amount of perfluorocarbon and oxygen in the breathing gas mixture ranges from about 20 vol. % to a maximum of 100 vol. % of the breathing gas mixture, and the remaining amount of up to about 80 vol. % contains one or more of the gases nitrogen, nitrogen monoxide and/or one or more anesthesia gases or noble gases, especially xenon. Perfluorohexane is an especially preferred perfluorocarbon.

Abstract: A heater, especially a liquid fuel-operated water heater (10) or air heater of a motor vehicle in the form of an auxiliary heater or a parking heater has a housing jacket (1) and a heat exchanger (2) as well as with a control device (11) for regulating or monitoring the heating operation via at least one temperature sensor (3), especially a regulating temperature sensor and/or overheating sensor. The temperature sensor (3) is arranged on the underside of a control device bottom plate (4) facing the temperature sensor (3) on the housing jacket (1), wherein the temperature sensor (3) extends through an opening of the housing jacket (1), especially a water jacket, in the direction of the heat exchanger (2) and is preferably pretensioned by a spring. As a result, the temperature sensor can be mounted on the control device bottom plate already during the manufacture of the control device and finally mounted together with the control device bottom plate rapidly and reliably.

Abstract: A universal joint yoke with two parallel yoke legs, which have a partial area for a bearing eye hole, is presented, in which the inner sides of the yoke legs facing one another have areas of thickened material in the unfinished state in the areas of the bearing eye holes. Due to this feature according to the present invention, it is possible to obtain a sufficient mounting overlap for the needle bearings arranged in the bearing eye holes, on the one hand, and a maximum possible passage is obtained at the same time for a through hole necessary for the connection to connection profiles in the universal joint yoke.

Abstract: A heating system (1) is provided mounted in a motor vehicle with an internal combustion engine. The system (1) includes an additional heating system (2 or 3) or an auxiliary heating system (4). At the same time a reflection mirror 15 is positioned with a reflection mirror mounting member 8 formed with the V-shaped form in front of the object lens 30 and a reflection mirror holding frame 8 at the position of the incidence point. This arrangement is useful fir example to observe a soldered section 52 of an IC chip 50 by inserting this reflection mirror 15 into the ultramicropore space.
