Abstract: An end member (130) for a container has a central panel (12) extending radially outwardly from a central axis. A first panel radius (114) is located along a peripheral edge of the central panel (12). A countersink (16) is integral with the first panel radius (114). A chuckwall (15) extends upwardly from the countersink (16) to a seaming curl (14) located at an outer perimeter of the end member (130). An approach point (134) is defined by a lower outer position of an axially stacked second end member (132). A bend (108) is located on the chuckwall (15). The bend (108) having an outwardly directed angle with a radius of curvature (RCW1) which adapted to position the chuckwall (15) radially outwardly of the approach point (134) and in spaced relationship thereto.

Abstract: A nestable mid-depth beverage case has a bottom wall with upstanding side and end walls around its periphery and a plurality of container seating areas on its top surface. A continuous peripheral band forms a vertical upper wall section, and a plurality of spaced apart V-shaped columns connected between the bottom wall and the band form a lower wall section inset relative to the upper section to enable nesting of the container. Buttresses extend upwardly from the columns and across the band. The columns have flat, angled vertical surfaces facing toward adjacent seating areas to contact containers over a substantial part of their height and provide support in lateral and longitudinal directions. Each end wall has two columns and associated buttresses, and a handle with a large access opening is formed in each end wall by cutting away adjacent side edges of adjacent columns and buttresses and the bottom edge of the band.

Abstract: A waste storage device includes a container (21) in which a cassette (1) is mounted. Tubing (2) is pulled through the center of the cassette (1) to store packages (35) separated by twists. The cassette (1) is rotated relative to the container (21) to provide the twists between packages (35) by virtue of a rotatable disk (100) and user grip portion (102). The package is gripped against rotation by a gripper diaphragm (120) and is guided towards a wall of the container by a guide diaphragm (122) to prevent untwisting between packages.

Abstract: A picture hanger for use with gypsum board comprises a strip of steel bent into a V to provide two legs. The first leg is arcuate and functions as an anchor upon insertion into the gypsum board. The second leg is straight, with a hook at its terminus for hanging pictures and the like. An installation tool is provided which enables the arcuate anchor leg to be driven into the gypsum board along an arcuate path corresponding to the arcuate anchor leg until the second leg is held firmly against the surface of the gypsum board.

Abstract: An outdoor smoking system including a smoking device coupled to a cooking vessel. The smoking device includes a feed chute for continuously supplying fuel to a burning chamber without user intervention. The feed chute is positioned above the burning chamber to gravity feed the fuel into the burning chamber. A grate positioned in the bottom wall of the burning chamber allows ash created by the burning to fall out of the chamber into an ash tray. As ash leaves the chamber through the grate, additional fuel in the feed chute is allowed to enter, maintaining a substantially constant burning mass in the burning chamber.

Abstract: A three level nestable stacking comprising a base, a pair of opposing sidewalls, a pair of opposing endwalls and at least two bail arms. Each of the opposing sidewalls comprises a plurality of peanut or kidney shaped receptacles, and in an alternative embodiment, a plurality of slot shaped receptacles. The receptacles allow for ease of rotational movement of the bail arms between any of at least three positions. The three positions for the bail arms provide three stacking configuration for a second, upper container, in regard to a first, lower container: a nearly fully nested configuration; a partially nested configuration; and a substantially un-nested configuration. The opposing sidewalls also comprise a sidewall interlock system, as well as a container stacking structure. The bails arms are completely contained within the area of the container, and mate with grooves in the base of the container.

Abstract: A filter element (10) is disclosed having a integral clamp (100) thereon. The adjustable clamp (100) is held against a sleeve (90) by attached tabs (91). The sleeve (90) covers a collar (70) with a plurality of fingers (72) thereon. A high head, e.g., the apex, formed by a bead (80) in the fingers (72) permits better sealing between the filter (10) and the filter's support housing.

Abstract: A device for adapting a cover for an existing air filter assembly to seal an end portion of a replacement cylindrical air filter having a round cross-sectional shape is disclosed. The cover has a plate with a radially inner convex guide separated from a radially outer convex guide by a concave receiver, a tightening member connected to the plate, and a catch having a first end movably connected to the tightening member, and the catch having a second end configured to engage a keeper, the tightening member adjustable to vary a distance between the catch and the plate. An adaptor is attachable to the plate of the cover. The adaptor has a first side for engagement with the plate and an opposing second side for engagement with an end portion of a cylindrical filter. The first side has a sealing surface extending radially inwardly from a peripheral edge.

Abstract: A system and method to improve the accuracy of the measure of constituent element(s) in a sample containing domains potentially including the constituent element(s) are described herein. For each domain, the volume of the domain is estimated and the concentration of the constituent element(s) in the domain is determined using LIBS. When all the domains have been analyzed, the volumetric concentration of the domains is summed and divided by the total volume of the sample. Accordingly, by limiting the concentration analysis to separate domains, it is possible to improve the accuracy of the concentration analysis.

Abstract: A wide angle display system, comprising a scanner having at least one reflective surface and an axis of rotation, a dome having a reflective inner surface, the inner surface having an axis of revolution which is coincident with the axis of rotation of the scanner, at least one linear arrangement of light sources producing beams of light. The reflective surface of the scanner reflects the beams of light towards the reflective inner surface of the dome which in turn collimates the beams of light and reflects them towards an observer positioned within the wide angle display system.

Abstract: A method of identifying the characteristics of an image such as an iris image or other biometric image comprises taking repeated scans across the image and determining the variability between those scans. By taking a sequence of scans, a two-dimensional variation code (70) is built up. This may then be compared with a stored library of similar variation codes to identify the individual.

Abstract: A can end member for a beverage container is disclosed. The end member has a curl at least substantially defining a perimeter of the can end, a chuck wall extending downwardly and radially inwardly from the curl, and a central panel wall centered about a longitudinal axis. The central panel wall has a product side and a public side. The public side has a means for opening a frangible panel segment. The end member also has a fold joining the chuck wall with the central panel wall. The fold has an opening. A fluid is located adjacent the opening.

Abstract: A modular electrical receptacle configured so that more than one of the modular electrical receptacles can be connected to form a larger receptacle connected to a single source of power. The modular electrical receptacle includes a housing having a front surface with a first and a second electrical outlet. The housing further includes a first tab extending from a first end and a second end extending from a second end for securing the modular receptacle to an in-wall electrical box. The housing further includes a power link, such as a conductive extension, for connecting directly to another module and providing the other module with access to the single source of power. The power link can be three links for connecting a positive line, a neutral line and a ground line to another module. The housing also includes a coupler for connecting the housing to a power link of another module. Again, three couplers can be provided for the positive, neutral and ground lines.

Abstract: A dryer (10) for an asphalt plant is disclosed. In one embodiment, the dryer (10) includes a generally cylindrical drum (12); a burner (20) having a burner head (22) at least partially disposed within the drum (12); a feeder (26) attached to a stationary portion of the dryer (10) for providing a recycled asphalt pavement; and an adjustable inlet (28) for introducing the recycled asphalt pavement from the feeder (26) into the drum (12) at a desired position. The adjustable inlet (28) is adjustable laterally between at least two positions.
