    Abstract: An AM/FM/CB/cellular telephone antenna includes a first frequency self-resonant circuit at a position above the lower end of the antenna such that the electrical length of the lower section of the antenna is equivalent to one-quarter wavelength for a frequency in the FM frequency range and a second frequency self-resonant circuit disposed below the first frequency self-resonant circuit. The first self-resonant circuit presents a high impedance in the FM frequency band and the second self-resonant circuit presents a high impedance in the cellular frequency range. The entire length of the antenna is equivalent to one-quarter wavelength in a frequency in the CB frequency band. The antenna wire is wound around a fiberglass core, and the FM self-resonant circuit is formed by a tightly wound, coiled section of the wire together with a thin-walled brass tube extending over the core in the area of the tightly wound section.

    Abstract: A mobile communication system employs moving base stations moving in the direction of flow of traffic moving along a roadway. The moving base station communicates with fixed radio ports connected to a gateway office. A plurality of moving base stations are spaced apart on a closed loop and move with the flow of traffic along one roadway on one leg of the loop and with a flow of traffic on another roadway in another leg of the loop. The moving base stations communicate with a plurality of fixed radio ports connected by a signal transmission link to a gateway office which, in turn, is connected to the wire line network. The moving base stations are each provided with a pair of directional antennas with one antenna directed toward the flow of traffic and another antenna directed to the fixed radio ports.

    Abstract: A roller conveyor is provided with a rotating turning wheel disposed along one side of the conveyor and engaging and turning products as the products are moved along the conveyor. The rotating wheel is provided with a conically-shaped upper surface having a lower edged disposed below the level of the plane of the conveyor. An adjustable guide bar directs products to an area of the wheel displaced from the outer edge of the wheel by a selected distance. As the product engages the wheel, a portion of the product is raised to facilitate turning of the product and a force extending in the direction of travel is applied to the product in the area of contact with the wheel. The wheel is mounted on a vertically extending shaft further having a drive disc mounted thereon. A drive wheel mounted on a horizontally extending shaft rotates the drive disc. A pulley mounted on the horizontal shaft is driven by the conveyor roller drive belt.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a system and method for the automated spin-casting production of molded articles. The system includes a casting turntable and a processing turntable which are rotatively mounted, immediately adjacent to one another. The casting turntable has several spin modules mounted thereon for rotatively supporting mold assemblies. Casting preparation and pouring mechanisms are mounted around the periphery of the casting turntable. The turntable indexes the mold assemblies and positions the assemblies for preparation, pouring and solidification of the cast products. The processing turntable receives the mold assemblies and solidified castings from the casting turntable. Multiple processing stations are mounted around the periphery of the processing table for the removal of the castings from the mold assemblies and preparation of the mold assemblies for additional casting operations. The mold assemblies are returned to the casting table from the processing table for additional casting processes.

The apparatus (200) comprises a source light (254) and a reflection optics assembly (264, 268). Signals representative of reflected light are analyzed and data provided to an operator representative of the spectral response characteristics of the object sample (252). The apparatus (200) further comprises a side sensor (276) having a fixed spectral response characteristic for compensating the reflectance measurements in accordance with the light intensity emanating from the lamp. For purposes of calibration, a series of time-sequenced measurements are made of a reference sample. Utilizing these measurements, the apparatus (200) provides computations of compensation coefficients for each spectral segment.

The tray further provides support for the headliner during installation of the headliner into the vehicle. Thus, the headliner can be manufactured without structural supports reinforced areas because the headliner is structurally supported by the tray during shipping and installation.

    Abstract: The socket member for mounting within a faucet and special fittings for water leads are disclosed which enable the fittings on the water leads to be quickly and easily mounted to the socket member within the faucet without the use of tools is disclosed. The socket member comprises a generally cylindrical or semicylindrical body which mounts a conventional valve assembly in the faucet. The socket member further contains several sockets on one axial end which mount corresponding fittings on a water lead via a resilient locking ring located within an annular groove within each socket which abuts against a shoulder located on each fitting to provide a locking engagement between the water lead and the socket member. A fitting is also disclosed having a polygonal circumference which prevents the installed water leads from rotating within the sockets via the abutment of the polygonal circumference against a fitting on another water lead or against upstanding walls adjacent the sockets.

An actuator shaft, having a first end and a second end, is disposed coaxially in the valve bore for reciprocal movement between an actuating position and a rest position, and is biased toward the rest position. A valve block fixes within the valve bore and has an internal end and an external end. A coaxial bore extends from the internal end to the external end and slidably receives the actuator shaft second end. A stop chamber is disposed between the external end and the internal end. The valve block has a seat on the external end at the coaxial bore. An air passage communicates with the port and the coaxial bore.

    Abstract: A refrigeration system is disclosed in which negative energy storage is provided to significantly reduce electrical energy consumption during peak air conditioning hours. A transfer pump is provided in the system for pumping condensed and mixed phase refrigerant from the negative energy storage to an evaporator coil where it absorbs heat energy from an air conditioned space. The transfer pump is a positive displacement pump employing a rotor and vanes rotating in a pumping chamber. Dual inlets and discharges from the pumping chamber are located to balance forces on the rotor. The inlets enter the pumping chamber radially. A hermetic enclosure seals the pump and an electric drive motor to eliminate dynamic seals within the pump and thereby greatly reduce leakage of refrigeration from the system. A refrigeration overfeed system using a hermetically sealed pump according to the invention is also disclosed.

The chain has as a specific property that the front edge and the rear edge of the bearing surface of the chain link are of curved, preferably elliptically-shaped, design in the plane of the bearing surface, that the single hinge eye at the rear edge of the bearing surface has an upper surface which extends in the same plane as the bearing surface and which engages through a convexly shaped end in a correspondingly shaped recess in the bearing surface of the adjacent link coupled thereto through the hinge pin. By these measures the transition of products to and from the chain proceeds extremely smoothly at high speeds too.

In another aspect, uncooked cherry products could be used in preparing a meat product for curing. The meat products produced according to the invention have the benefits of enhanced lipid oxidation resistance, enhanced flavor, better natural color retention, and a reduction of undesirable elements, such as fat or sodium.

    Abstract: A combined AM/FM/cellular telephone antenna system comprises a coaxial cable with an upper portion of the inner conductor of the coaxial cable and an adjacent section of the coaxial cable together forming a cellular telephone dipole antenna. The coaxial cable forms a transmission line connecting the cellular dipole antenna to cellular telephone equipment. The outer conductor of a portion of the coaxial cable below the cellular dipole antenna serves as the AM/FM antenna. The combined antenna is encaged in a fiberglass housing and mounted on a metallic base having an upper shell and a lower shell. The upper shell is electrically connected to the outer conductor of the coaxial cable forming the antenna and the lower shell is connected to a ground plane. A coaxial cable having a center conductor connected to the upper shell and an outer conductor connected to the lower shield provides connection to AM/FM receiver equipment.
