Abstract: A practical bonding technique is provided for solid-phase room-temperature bonding which does not require a profile irregularity of the order of several nanometers, in which a high-vacuum energy wave treatment and continuous high-vacuum bonding are not required. Since an adhering substance layer is thin immediately after a surface activating treatment using an energy wave, a bonding interface is spread by crushing the adhering substance layer to perform bonding, so that a new surface appears on a bonding surface, and objects to be bonded are bonded together. In order to crush the adhering substance layer more easily, a bonding metal of a bonding portion of the object to be bonded needs to have a low hardness. According to the results of various experiments conducted by the present inventors, it was found that the hardness of the bonding portion which is a Vickers hardness of 200 Hv or less is particularly effective for room-temperature bonding.
Abstract: The present invention provides a various methods, systems and devices for controlling light modulating elements and/or spatial light modulators. In some embodiments of the present invention, a recursive feedback method is used to control light modulating elements and/or spatial light modulators.

The iron holder holds the iron by the iron's base and can be adjusted to accommodate different sizes of irons. The frame is also made of heat-resistant, coated, welded wire that allows for the manufacture of a light, cost-effective device. The device is also equipped with large hooks to hold most types of ironing boards and arms designed to hold extra products used during ironing.
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for testing a modified specimen such as a dried blood spot, plasma or serum specimen, for an analyte of interest, such as cholesterol. In accordance with the disclosed subject matter, the level of the analyte of interest in the medium from which the modified specimen was obtained (e.g., from a patient's blood) is determined based on the level of an analyte in a solution formed from the modified specimen and on the level of at least one normalizing analyte. The analyte and normalizing analyte each may be an ion, compound, biochemical entity, or property of the specimen. Also disclosed are a fluid collector and a fluid collection device.

Abstract: The present invention provides loading and unloading mechanisms, and data drives for data storage cartridges. Embodiments of the cartridge loading and unloading mechanisms for a data storage cartridge may: operate in a manner such that the drive door of the data drive may be fully closed before the disk medium is exposed, e.g., before opening of the associated shutter of the cartridge; be powered by the same drive motor assembly that is used to move or transport the cartridge to the optical head assembly used for writing and/or reading of data from the disk medium of the cartridge; and may fit within a standard configuration for a data drive. Embodiments of the cartridge loading and unloading mechanisms, as well as the data drives, may provide reliable operation, ease of assembly, and of the parts and components necessary for the reliable operation, and positive data cartridge positioning, as well as minimizing backlash in the drive motor/gear assembly.

Abstract: A distributed architecture and method for MBMS delivery is disclosed. The various embodiments enable selection combining and soft combining by UEs for MBMS transmissions. An MBMS service notification (509) is sent to all E-Nodes (503). The E-Nodes proceed to request counting (511) from the UEs (501). A transmission request (513) is then sent to the anchor MBMS-Transmission Control Function (TCF) (505) from the E-Nodes (503). The anchor MBMS-TCF (505) generates resource allocation and scheduling profiles and segmentation and reassembly (SAR) profiles for the E-Nodes and sends the profiles (515) to the E-Nodes. The E-Nodes (503) use the profiles for resource allocation and configuration (517) and transmit MBMS data (519) in accordance with the profiles. The anchor MBMS-TCF (505) may then coordinate.
Abstract: The invention relates to compounds of general formula (I); 1a, 1 b, 1 c and 1 d. Abstract: An electromagnetic shielding device includes a metal frame mounted on a circuit board and having a looped surrounding wall configured with an inner space divided into first and second space portions by a partition wall unit. A cover is mounted fittingly into the inner space in the metal frame, and includes a dielectric cover body, and a conductive material layer attached to an outer surface of the cover body. The cover body has a looped surrounding wall extending downwardly from a periphery of a top wall and disposed in proximity to the looped surrounding wall of the metal frame such that the conductive material layer is in electrical contact with the looped surrounding wall of the metal frame. The cover cooperates with the metal frame to define first and second cavities having different depths and corresponding respectively to the first and second space portions.
Abstract: A control mechanism for a lawn spreader controls output flow of granular material out of the spreader hopper by adjusting the position of a control cable anchor point. The control mechanism includes a clamping portion for clamping to a tubular handle of the spreader. A top surface of the clamp portion, adjacent to the handle, provides a slide for a slideable cable anchor shuttle, which internally provides the anchor point for a control cable. The shuttle may be made from a plastic material. A dial housed within a dial housing, adjacent to the slide portion of the clamp, may be rotated to various indicated positions which in turn controls the position of the shuttle on the metal slide portion of the clamp, thereby adjusting the position of the control cable anchor point. The control cable extends from the end of the shuttle anchor mechanism to a hopper spring-loaded aperture cover.

Abstract: A method for providing electronic message authentication employs an article, such as a card, sticker, or any other suitable article, that includes sender authentication information and location information such as row and column headings. In one example, each recipient of interest is issued an article that embodies unique sender authentication information that is identifiable by corresponding location information such as column and row identifiers. In both an apparatus and method, when the sender of an electronic message wants to send a message to a recipient of interest, the sender sends the electronic message and both location information and corresponding desired sender authentication information located at the coordinate identified by the location coordinate information. If the sent desired sender authentication information matches authentication information found on the article, the sender of the message is trusted.

Abstract: An integrated video clock signal generator in which a master phase-locked loop (PLL) control circuit uses an off-chip voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) to produce an on-chip oscillator signal in synchronization with a horizontal reference signal related to a horizontal video synchronization signal. This on-chip oscillator signal drives one or more slave PLL circuits which provide respective one or more on-chip PLL signals synchronized with the on-chip oscillator signal. In accordance with a preferred embodiment, each on-chip PLL signal is a pixel clock signal with a plurality of clock signal pulses which is synchronized with a vertical reference signal related to a vertical video synchronization signal.
