Abstract: A method and system for reporting short message (SM) capability over an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) using a session initiation protocol (SIP) are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) registers with a core network and sends a message indicating its SM capability via the IMS to the core network. The core network then updates the WTRU capabilities based on the message and routes an SM to the WTRU via the IMS.
Abstract: The device places filled and sealed collapsible containers. The device has a gripping unit with a number of finger pairs that correspond to the number of containers in a packing state. The gripping unit has a gripping state in which each finger is arranged to make a squeezing motion such that the contents of the container forms an inner counter-pressure structure to provide a well-defined grip.
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed to control one or more input output (I/O) pads. An input signal is translated to an output signal having a desired logic level using a first latch loop. The state of the first latch loop is maintained by a second latch loop, integrated with the first latch loop, when a latching indication is received. The integration between the first latch loop and the second latch loop is such that the second latch loop creates an input-output connection if transmission gates in the second latch loop are conductive, and disables the input-output connection if the transmission gates are not conductive.
Abstract: A reordering buffer of a medium access controller-high speed (MAC-hs) is flushed, in response to a high speed-downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) cell change. A status report is generated of at least one radio link control (RLC) instance mapped to the HS-DSCH. The status report indicates missing HS-DSCH packet data units (PDUs), in response to the HS-DSCH cell change.
Abstract: An anti-vibration unit has: an X-axis transducer generating elliptical vibration in drivers; a frame which is a fixing member having a holding portion for holding the X-axis transducer; an X frame having fixed thereto a slide element to which the drivers of the X-axis transducer are pressed and which moves in the X-axis direction with respect to the frame; a Y-axis transducer held by a holding portion provided in the X-frame and generating elliptical vibration in drivers; and a Y frame having fixed thereto a slide element to which the drivers of the Y-axis transducer are pressed and which moves in the Y-axis direction with respect to the X frame. The X-axis transducer and the Y-axis transducer have substantially same resonant frequency, and the slide elements differ in at least one of rigidity and density thereof, thereby providing a drive apparatus down-sized, large in driving force and high in efficiency.
Abstract: To minimize overhead in the allocation of channels, forward and reverse link time slots are automatically assigned in pairs. In particular, rather than requiring a separate process for allocating reverse link channels for the sending of acknowledgment messages in response to receipt of a forward link packet, a different scenario takes place. At the receiving end, such as for valid reception of data on a forward link channel at a central base station site, a reverse link time slot is automatically allocated in a time slot which depends upon the time slot allocation on the forward link. This assists with the rapid return of acknowledgment messages in a reverse link direction which is the predominant direction for such messages in a wireless system wherein most data traffic is Web page oriented.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for identifying a code group representative of a predetermined number of base stations is disclosed. A chip offset within a frame is input into a first correlator. A plurality of samples of chips at which a primary synchronization code (PSC) has been detected are input into the first correlator. Output of the first correlator is multiplied by the complex conjugate of the PSC to obtain a magnitude for the signals being transmitted at the chips inputted into the first correlator. The magnitude is summed over four frames. The summed signals view of a predetermined set of decision variables is evaluated. A case number, a code group, a timeslot location, and a system frame number are determined based on the evaluation and noise estimation.

Abstract: A profiled ridge vent for tile roofs is provided having a vent strip located on each side of a roof ridge. Each vent strip includes a vent material, formed from a non-woven mat, including a first surface, contoured to a profile to match a profile of the tile roof, and a second surface. An upper water barrier is attached to the second surface of at least one of the vent strips and extends over the roof ridge. A water dam is attached to the first surface and extends in an up-slope direction toward the roof ridge. In use, a first vent strip is located on a first side of a roof ridge pole, and a second vent strip is located on a second side of the roof ridge pole. The upper water barriers of the first and second vent strips overlap one another at the ridge pole. Preferably, adhesive is provided on at least one of the upper water barriers so that the two water barriers are connected together. Alternatively, a single water barrier is provided which bridges the ridge pole and joins the first and second vent strips.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for use by a first transceiver, (e.g., wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), access point (AP), node) for adjusting the transmission rate of packets transmitted to a second transceiver based on signals the first transceiver receives from the second transceiver. In one embodiment, a transmission packet error rate (Tx PER) process is used to adjust the packet transmission rate. In another embodiment, a relative signal strength indicator (RSSI)-based process is used to determine the RSSI of packets received at the first transceiver from the second transceiver for adjusting the packet transmission rate. In another embodiment, transmission quality indicators are measured at the second transceiver and are sent to the first transceiver, which derives a new packet transmission rate therefrom. The Tx PER and RSSI-based processes may be used individually, in combination, or in conjunction with other processes.
Abstract: A wireless user equipment (UE) configured to initiate a packet based session includes a reservation setup protocol (RSVP) message generator configured to transmit a RSVP PATH message. The RSVP PATH message includes a direction indication. The direction indicator indicates that reservations should be made for the UE to transmit only, to receive only or to both transmit and receive. The UE also includes an RSVP message receiver configured to receive an RSVP RESV message indicating that reservations have been made as a result of the RSVP PATH message.
Abstract: A high speed-downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) cell change is initialized. A status report is autonomously generated for at least one radio link control (RLC) instance mapped to the HS-DSCH by a user equipment (UE) in response to the initiation of the HS-DSCH cell change. The status report indicates missing HS-DSCH packet data units (PDUs).
Abstract: Data is estimated of a plurality of received spread spectrum signals by a wireless communication apparatus. The plurality of received communications are received in a shared spectrum. The received communications are sampled to produce a received vector of sequential samples. The received vector is processed to produce a plurality of segments. Each segment is processed separately to estimate data of the received communications.
Abstract: A method and apparatus that augments the traditional Phase Plane Correlation (PPC) approach incorporates image structure into the correlation process. In so doing, the energy in spurious peaks that can occur in the phase plane correlation surface are dramatically reduced.
Abstract: In response to initiation of a high speed-downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) cell change, a reordering buffer of a medium access controller-high speed (MAC-hs) is flushed. A user equipment (UE) for at least one radio link control (RLC) instance mapped to the HS-DSCH generates a status report. The status report indicates missing HS-DSCH packet data units (PDUs).
