Abstract: A traffic safety control system is described in which connection of standard information signs, standard flags and staffs, standard barricade rope and standard barricade tape, and standard chemical light sticks to standard traffic cones is facilitated by the use of special adapters. Battery operated warning lamps connected directly to standard traffic cones provide an additional safety factor when the system is utilized to perimeterize a traffic control area.
Abstract: An elastic wrap is described for covering plant materials of virtually any size and shape, having an elastic opening within the wrapping material. Combining this elastic wrap with a secondary wrap permits the simultaneous utilization of two wrapping materials at the same time. In addition the secondary wrap forms a pot cover when the elastic wrap and secondary wrap are used to cover potted plants.
Abstract: An improved cover for potted plants and method for covering potted plants is described. The cover provides a water tight seal at its base while at the same time protecting the plant from contact with water leaking out of the plant. The cover is in the form of a flat, tear-away bag that customers of florists and plant nurseries can use themselves without assistance.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for stripping and removing external and internal waste automatically from previously die-cut blanks is described. By pressing on the cover member, a paste portion is extruded from the tube. The hinges are adjustable to suit the tube, when full or one-half full, or near empty. The support portion and cover portion have respective resilient liners for providing a spring rate and for snugly holding the tube.
Abstract: A closure for a container for use in resisting child opening thereof and for recording an act of tampering therewith. This closure has an outer cap and a liner and an inner cap coaxially disposed along a common axis. The inner cap has an outer surface with peripheral groove portions and axial groove portions. The outer cap has an inner surface with a pair of radially protruding spikes which are received and travel in the groove portions for resisting child opening thereof. The liner has a shearable, indicia-marked top foil and a top adhesive attached to the interior surface of a top transparent end wall of the outer cap, and has a bottom, indicia-marked foil with a bottom adhesive attached to the exterior surface of a top end wall of the inner cap, and has an adhesive strip disposed between the two foils, for recording an act of tampering therewith.
Abstract: A floral bottle device for use as a gift of a coordinated bottle and flower display means is provided. The device includes, a bottle, such as a wine bottle, and at least one annular coaxial flower display means which has a foam insert in which stems of flowers are embedded, and interconnecting means for attaching the flower display means to the bottle. The interconnecting means includes a plurality of elongate fingers which grip the tapered neck of the bottle and includes a circular bearing surface on the flower display means which bears against the tapered neck of the bottle.
Abstract: An exercising device for use by a child or an adult. This device includes a hollow plastic crossbar, and one or more hoops preferably hollow. Each hoop has an outer curved portion and two elongate straight portions with respective end portions. Each end portion has a fixed connection to the crossbar. The fixed connection is a pair of holes in the hollow crossbar, which receive a part of the straight portion with a press fit. The straight portion is adjustable relative to the crossbar by applying more than a preselected force thereon. The hoops are spaced apart at an equal angle spacing in a peripheral direction.

Abstract: A window structure for use as a new or a replacement window in a wall opening is provided. This window structure includes, a tubular interior frame unit, a tubular exterior frame unit, insulating glass units, and seal means between the frame units. The tubular exterior frame unit overlaps and has substantially the same projected member width as the tubular interior frame unit for providing a slim appearance to the metal parts and for providing a large appearance to the glass parts. The tubular interior frame unit has a first tubular frame portion, and has a second flange frame portion, and has a third heat-barrier frame portion therebetween, for minimizing heat loss. Each insulating glass unit has two spaced glass sheets with a sealed air space therebetween. The seal means has a continuous primary seal member mounted on the first tubular frame portion for engaging a tubular exterior operable outswing casement frame of the tubular exterior frame unit.
Abstract: A stump cutting machine having an improved tooth and holder assembly for use in removing tree stumps. This machine has a rotatable circular blade supported by journal members. The improved cutting assemblies, each have a pair of teeth and a pair of tooth holders. Each tooth has a head portion for cutting, and a shank portion fixedly connected to the holder. The holder is fixedly connected to the blade. The head portion has a collar portion, an arch portion, and a shoulder portion. The collar portion includes a carbide tip with a front inclined surface. The arch portion includes a rear cutting face with a selected angle. The arch portion extends from the tip portion to the shoulder portion, which bears against the holder. The holder has a surface which faces the circular blade and which has a slot. The slot receives the tooth shank portion. The blade and holder are connected by bolts which apply opposite clamping forces on the shank portion.
Abstract: A transfer fluid for spirit fluid type duplicating systems is disclosed which comprises, generally a polyhydric alcohol, 20 to 90% by weight; and water, 10 to 80% by weight. For certain machines, a wetting agent 0 to 2% by weight, can be used with an adjustment accordingly in the amounts of the other materials.

Abstract: A baseball game for playing on a flat support in miniature fashion is provided. The baseball game includes a field such as indoor outdoor carpet or the like, having marked thereon an outfield area and an infield area and a pitcher mound area and a base runner area. The field also has a first base area, a second base area, a third base area and a home base area. The game also includes outfield fence portions each made of a relatively rigid sheet including adjacent flexible portions, four infielder pieces and three outfielder pieces. Each fielder piece has an upright wall member formed from a transparent flexible sheet of plastic material having opposite end portions with respective wall openings, and an elongate cloth strip having opposite end strip portions respectively received in the opposite wall openings and connecting to the opposite wall portions.
Abstract: A fabric device useful in facilitating the movement of a person's body while lying on a bed, resting surface, examining table or the like. The fabric device comprises a first fabric made from a non-woven material similar to HANDI-WIPE material. This first fabric is secured to an identically sized and shaped second fabric of relatively frictionless material such as woven, synthetic material or even a plastic sheet. Two such fabric devices can be utilized in combination with an OB/GYN physician's examining table, bed or other resting surface. A first fabric device is positioned on the table or bed with the non-woven material face down and secured to the table top if it would slip thereon. The second fabric device is positioned with its frictionless material contacting the frictionless material of the first fabric device. For the examining table, application, typically the examining paper would then be interposed between the patient's body and the non-woven material of the second fabric device.
Abstract: Improvements to an upflow biological reactor (UBR) waste water treatment system include preoxygenating the waste water in a separate vessel before submitting the preoxygenated waste to the biological reaction tower. A unique distribution means is described which maximizes the distribution of the preoxygenated waste across the cross-sectional area of the UBR tower. This results in an optimization of the reaction process between the bacteria culture in the tower and the contaminants contained in the waste water. Anaerobic conditions are thus inhibited and to a large extent, eliminated. Further, the invention provides for a "polishing" system which permits for maximum elimination of the contaminant by bubbling through any remaining oxygen containing air after the process in the UBR tower is complete.
Abstract: A protective device, for a hypodermic needle having a cylinder with a plunger coaxial along an axis, and an end wall with a projecting needle, is provided. The device has an annular, radially projecting web portion of fabric or plastic material, which has a radially inner edge and a radially outer edge. The device has a collar, which is joined to the radially inner edge. The collar is mounted on the cylinder end wall. The device also has a closing drawstring, which is threaded inside a turned-in edge portion of the radially outer edge of the web portion. The web portion has first, second third, and fourth rigid members, composed of a plastic material or the like. The first rigid member has a bent end portion. The rigid members form a box-like structure around the needle, when the web portion is in a closed condition. The rigid portions each have beveled side edges. The cylinder has an adhesive tape for holding taut the drawstring, when the web portion is in a closed condition.
