Abstract: A vise jaw assembly for supporting and securing an object to be worked upon in a vise is provided. The jaw assembly 10 has a block 14 with a plurality of apertures 16, a plurality of channels 40 passing through a portion of the block 14, a plurality of inlet holes 44, and a plurality of pins 48. Each pin 48 is located within an aperture 16 and is in slidable engagement with the aperture 16. The channels 40 can extend in a generally longitudinal direction of the block 14. Each channel has a first segment 42 in fluid communication with an inlet hole 44 and a second segment 45 in fluid communication with at least one aperture 16. At least one fluid passageway 46 extends from an inlet hole 44 to at least one aperture 16. Each pin 48 is independently deployable to a use position P1 and retractable to a non-use position P2. A plate 18 is secured to the rear surface 32 of the block 14 to enclose the channels 40.
Abstract: A device for the deionization of incoming water. The device includes a tank and a generally hollow distributor tube in that tank for ingress into and downward movement of the incoming water through that tank. Slots adjacent the bottom of the generally hollow tube and near the bottom of the tank are provided for distributing the incoming water out of the hollow tube. There is a bed of mixed bed ion exchange resin within the tank. This bed of resin surrounds the generally hollow tube, through which the incoming water travels upwardly. The water is deionized by the ion exchange resin, as it moves upwardly through the resin, after egress from the slots.
Abstract: An assembly for coupling a tractor to a trailer is disclosed. The assembly comprises a fifth wheel bearing plate and a trailer bearing plate assembly. The trailer bearing plate assembly includes a self-lubricating plate securely attached to an underside of said trailer by a chemical attachment means.
Abstract: An end member for a container. The end member has a central panel, a circumferential chuckwall, and a transition wall. The central panel is centered about a longitudinal axis and has a substantially planar peripheral edge. The curl defines an outer perimeter of the end member. The circumferential chuckwall extends downwardly from the curl to the transition wall. The transition wall connects the chuck wall with the substantially planar peripheral edge of the central panel. The transition wall has a folded portion extending outwardly relative to the longitudinal axis.

Abstract: A method for the production and control of merging continuous webs with variable data therein is described. The method provides for the printing of control codes preceding and antedating live variable data on the web. These control codes are used to match related webs so as to facilitate the matching of related webs during collation.
Abstract: A battery terminal connector having a body portion. The body portion has a front end and a back end, and a first and a second ferrule. The second ferrule is secured to the front end of the body portion, and the first ferrule is connected to the back end of the body portion. The first ferrule is separated from the second ferrule by an angle of between approximately 150-180 degrees. A line passing through the axis of the first ferrule and second ferrule passes through the battery terminal post to which the terminal connector is attached.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for assembling a fan grill to a shroud of a fan housing. The apparatus includes a support structure having a moveable carriage disposed in a horizontal plane. The moveable carriage is adapted to align and carry the fan grill and shroud combination. A clamping structure is moveably attached to the support structure and has clamps adapted to clamp the fan grill and shroud combination in a fixed position. A plurality of automatic drivers attached to the clamping structure are moveable in a direction transverse to the horizontal plane of the carriage. The automatic drivers drive a plurality of fasteners into the fan grill and shroud combination. The moveable carriage may be adapted to carry more than one fan grill and shroud combination to allow an operator to load a second fan grill and shroud combination onto the carriage while a first fan grill and shroud combination is engaged by the drivers.

Abstract: An ecology end member for a beverage container has a central panel wall with a product side, a public side, and an outer peripheral edge. A non-detachable tab is secured to the public side of the central panel wall by a rivet. A displaceable tear panel is located in the central panel wall adjacent the rivet. The tear panel is defined by a frangible score and a non-frangible hinge segment. The frangible score has a tear panel geometry with an outer periphery defied by a curvilinear score length. The tear panel geometry is asymmetrically skewed having a large radius of score curvature in a first outer quadrant of the tear panel to provide low resistance to opening the tear panel at the large radius. The tear panel has a radially outermost segment of the score located in a different quadrant of the tear panel.
Abstract: This invention relates to data communication equipment (DCE), more specifically, high speed transmission of electronic data between data terminal equipment (DTE). The invention sets forth a method and a device for transmitting a voltage signal waveform as a series of current pulses onto a communication line. The method requires converting an input voltage signal waveform to a current signal waveform and transmitting the resulting current pulses onto a communication line wherein a predetermined bias voltage is maintained.
Abstract: A slide lock assembly is provided. The slide lock assembly is primarily for a grab handle assembly having a mounting assembly comprising a cap with a tab and a base with an aperture for receiving the tab. However, the slide lock assembly of the present invention may be used with any mounting or similar assembly comprising a base and cap.
Abstract: A phase-shift modulation resonant inverter is turned on and off by built-in switches Q1 and Q2. An inductor L and a load capacitor C are used to produce vibration output from the inverter. A current sampling circuit is employed to take samples of resonant current. A controller is used to adjust the shift angle between the phase of switches Q1 and Q2 and that of resonance current. This invention features simple structure, flexible control and a wide range of voltage changes, with an efficiency up to 98%.
Abstract: The present invention provides a composition having biological activity. The composition includes from about 10 ppm to about 5000 parts iodonium salt. The composition also includes from about 100 ppm to about 300,000 ppm of a compound to act as a carrier of the iodonium compound. The carrier is selected from at least one of polyvinyl alcohols, polyvinyl acetates, polyethylene glycols, ethylene glycol and propylene glycol block copolymers, cellulosic polymers, polyesters, alkyd polymers. The composition also includes from about 50 ppm to about 50,000 ppm of a compound to render the composition compatible with a surface being treated. This component is selected from at least one of di-acids, acid anhydrides, polyfunctional acids, di-ethylene glycol, resorcinol and the like. The composition also includes an appropriate vehicle selected from at least one of water, acidified water, paint, primer, and petroleum distillates.

Abstract: A method for strengthening an end member for a container comprises the steps of providing an end member shell and reforming the end member shell. The finished the end member has a central panel wall with a product side and a public side. The public side has a means for opening a frangible panel segment. The end member shell has a central panel extending radially outwardly from a central axis, a panel radius along a peripheral edge of the central panel, a countersink integral with the panel radius, a chuckwall extending upwardly from the countersink having a bend with a radius of curvature and angled axially outwardly, and a seaming curl defining the outer perimeter of the end member shell and integral with the chuckwall. The chuckwall of the end member shell is reformed to decrease the radius of curvature of the bend.
