  • Patent number: 4665107
Abstract: A process for modifying colorants which comprise an active ingredient of solid primary particles in the submicron range by an encapsulation with polymer starting materials that are not substantially altered during the process. Writing fluids, textile colorants and cosmetic inks are disclosed wherein the intrinsic physical qualities of a solid active material are modified to create a stable aqueous dispersion with performance and rheology characteristic of the polymer, and not of the active ingredient.

  • Patent number: 4662769
Abstract: In a tip of a tubular writing pen having a writing tube (2) secured in a forepart a (1) joined to a pen body and an axially movable fluid conductor (3) extending into the writing tube, of the type wherein the projecting length of a writing fluid conductor (3), beyond the forward end of the writing tube (2), is adjustable. To this end, a writing pen tip forepart (1) is non-dislocatably joined to the pen body, while a coupler element (6) is secured about a portion of the writing fluid conductor (3), inside of the forepart. As the tubular writing pen tip is raised from the drawing surface, a surface of the coupler engages against a bearing surface of an adjuster element (7, 8). The adjuster element (7, 8) is in screw-like engagement with an axially non-dislocatable actuating socket (16), so that the adjuster element axially is shifted, simply by rotating the actuating socket (16).

  • Patent number: 4663269
Abstract: Method of forming highly sensitive, high resolution positive photoresist compositions that are developed from polycarbonates derived from t-diols and various diphenols and homopolycarbonates from t-diols, mixed with 2-10% of onium salts wtih complex metal halide counterions. The high sensitivity of the photoresist compositions is due to the thermodynamic stabilities of the resulting incipient dicarbocations and dienes.

  • Patent number: 4662987
Abstract: Method of transporting and processing of substrates, including wafers of the type used for semiconductors. Particularly, a method of flowing fluid medium longitudinally within a confined passageway so that the substrate is supported, transported and processed in a double floating condition without touching the walls of the passageway. The method is characterized by the restricting of flowing of fluid medium into the passageway, so as to guide the substrate during transport and processing by injecting pressurized coating medium into the passageway at a series of processing stations defined intermediate transport sections of said passageway.

  • Patent number: 4657820
Abstract: Hydrophilic coating of plastics, particularly an enhanced aqueous solution of a polysaccharide which flows uniformly over the surface of an anchor film applied to the plastic. The aqueous solution of a polysaccharide from the group consisting of hyaluronic acid and its salts, chondroitin sulfate and agarose is enhanced by the addition of albumin to provide uniform wetting over the anchor film on the plastic.

  • Patent number: 4656235
Abstract: Siloxane-containing polyimides, useful as conformal coatings for electrical devices, can be synthesized via a novel Diels-Alder reaction in which bis-maleimide derivatives are polymerized with siloxane-containing bis-furan derivatives. The Diels-Alder adduct can be aromatized, and applied as a coating to a mineral substrate. The aromatized, polyimide coating can be cured thermally without additional cyclization on the substrate.

  • Patent number: 4654479
Abstract: Dot matrix method of entering and transmitting script. For example, Chinese script in the form of a character or ideograph is written upon a dot matrix "keyboard", then registered and stored within a conventional computer memory. As desired, the computer may print the individual Chinese character or a plurality of Chinese characters, constituting the entire memory, upon a dot matrix printer. The present method is characterized by its capability of registering the entered script or character as digital information within a latch matrix, then transferring the digital information from the latch matrix as groups of bytes into an input/output control. The accepted digital information may be transmitted from input/output control to random access memory, read only memory, a microprocessor controller or external communications.

  • Patent number: 4653716
Abstract: A synthetic resin holder in which a pair of embracing arms having inner ends connected by a hinge and outer ends butted in an opening and closing manner are integrally connected by hinges on opposite ends of a circular spring plate having a support leg projected in the central portion thereof, and when a connected portion between the embracing arms is moved outwardly from a border-line which connects both ends of the spring plate, the embracing arms are opened, and conversely, when it is moved inwardly, the arms are closed. The present invention provides such a holder as described which can solve the opening of the embracing arms of themselves due to the flexure of the spring plate resulting from the load, vibrations or shocks of an article being held, by the upward provision of the embracing arms along with the spring plate on the base plate.

  • Patent number: 4642022
Abstract: A chain turbine system of the type including pairs of chains supporting a plurality of pivoted deflection buckets. The pairs of chains are suspended across a moving stream, so that a lower portion of the chains and the deflection buckets travel through the stream at right angles to the current and an upper or returning portion of the chains and deflection buckets is out of contact with the stream. Modifications of the invention include affixing one or more guide wheels to the discharge ends of the deflection buckets such that the guide wheels engage a stabilizing track, while traversing the stream bed as the lower driving portion of the chain, and on the return upper portion of the chains the guide wheels engage a stabilizing cable or rod. Also, when the stream current is scant, the system may be built with a pressure or accumulation tank across the stream so that the flowing stream may be accumulated, then discharged downwardly through discharge ducts to the deflection buckets.

  • Patent number: 4622918
Abstract: Module for processing advancing substrates including an elongated housing enclosing pairs of superposed transporters defining a longitudinal passage; a source of pressurized gaseous transport medium communicating with the longitudinal passage, so as to provide a free floating transport of the substrates through the passage; and a series of processing chambers interposed between the pairs of transporters, so that a non-processing side and a processing side of the advancing substrates are exposed within the processing chamber. A plurality of gaseous transport medium discharge ducts extends laterally across the longitudinal passage above and below the substrates so as to collect and remove excess gaseous transport medium, while assisting the advance of the substrates in the passage.
