  • Patent number: 4930189
Abstract: A screening apparatus is provided for removing cartiledge, gristle and bone fragments from a ground moist product such as ground meat, the screening process comprising a form of extrusion between closely spaced helically corrugated revolving cylinders. The corrugations have sinusoidal contours with the contours of adjacent cylinders displaced 180 degrees from each other. The cylinders all revolve in the same direction so that spacing between the adjacent cylinders remains fixed and uniform while the advancing ridges of the corrugated surfaces move the retained cartiledge, gristle and bone fragments to one end of the cylinders to be exhausted from the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4919483
Abstract: A headrest for securing to the window in the cab of a truck, or to any supporting surface in other types of vehicles, employing a cushion of porous plastic material surrounded by a nonporous material. The cushion has a port extending through the casing and into the porous material. A valve is mounted on the casing to control air flow through the port upon head impact with the cushion and substantially closing the port upon inflow of air through the port and into the cushion after impact. Means are mounted on the cushion for affixing it to the window of the cab of the truck or other surfaces in other types of vehicles.

  • Patent number: 4891877
Abstract: A portable tool for compressing a fitting on a high pressure hose comprising identical forged and machined parts that are held in alignment by parallelly positioned bolts that extend therethrough. The parts moved toward each other when a hammer or the like is applied to the outside surface of one of the parts. The parts have aligned mating surfaces each defining a die in their opposed surfaces for compressing a fitting to a hose when the hammer or like force is applied thereto. Shims are used to reduce the size of each die so that the tool can be used with an assortment of hose fittings on a variety of hose sizes.

  • Patent number: 4884034
Abstract: A ground fault detector and locator for use in servicing ungrounded d-c or a-c power distribution systems. A pulsating ground current is introduced between the unfaulted side of the distribution system and earth ground. A current probe and associated sensing circuits are then employed to identify the faulted branch circuit without interrupting service to unfaulted branch circuits.

  • Patent number: 4854761
Abstract: An improved nail polish removing wand comprising an elongated tubular device containing a stack of absorbent pads that are driven toward an open end of the tubular device by selective operator manipulation of the wand. The forward pad in the stack is moved to the end of the tubular device where it is held until ejected by a flange at the open end of the wand that cooperates with the geometric configuration of the pad. After the pad is used for removing nail polish, it is ejected by further manipulative action of the wand by the operator.

  • Patent number: 4844051
Abstract: A wood burning air augmented stove for reclaiming heat from the discharge gases employing a plurality of spaced catalytic combustors, one combustor being detachably mounted on the edge of a smoke baffle, and another combustor being positioned in a portion of the chimney flue which may be selectively moved from a gas intercepting position to a gas bypassing position. The catalytic combustors are so arranged that if one combustor is overheated, the second combustor will provide the additional gas heating and cleansing function needed. These combustors act in series to magnify temperature and heat increases.
