Abstract: A screening apparatus is provided for removing cartiledge, gristle and bone fragments from a ground moist product such as ground meat, the screening process comprising a form of extrusion between closely spaced helically corrugated revolving cylinders. The corrugations have sinusoidal contours with the contours of adjacent cylinders displaced 180 degrees from each other. The cylinders all revolve in the same direction so that spacing between the adjacent cylinders remains fixed and uniform while the advancing ridges of the corrugated surfaces move the retained cartiledge, gristle and bone fragments to one end of the cylinders to be exhausted from the apparatus.
Abstract: A headrest for securing to the window in the cab of a truck, or to any supporting surface in other types of vehicles, employing a cushion of porous plastic material surrounded by a nonporous material. The cushion has a port extending through the casing and into the porous material. A valve is mounted on the casing to control air flow through the port upon head impact with the cushion and substantially closing the port upon inflow of air through the port and into the cushion after impact. Means are mounted on the cushion for affixing it to the window of the cab of the truck or other surfaces in other types of vehicles.
Abstract: A conical spacer assembly for supporting and spacing one member relative to another member comprising a conical housing having a smooth outer surface and hole extending axially therethrough for receiving at one or both ends thereof a bolt in threaded arrangement therewith. A flat circular shaped clamp having an aperture extending laterally therethrough is provided for receiving through its aperture the housing of the spacer which clamp snugly engages the housing at a point along its length laterally thereof and engages and supports a rebar at one or more point around its periphery.
Abstract: A process for temperature treating a granular material such as sand by the use of ambient air moving through the material, as it drops under gravity from a screen, at a wind velocity high enough to invoke forced convection as an aid in accomplishing the temperature controlling function.
Abstract: A hand held weapon simulating a rifle, shotgun or pistol having a camera pivotally mounted in the area of the usual projectile insertion and ejecting mechanism which has its shutter, focus and f adjustment means mounted in or adjacent the firing chamber which camera is actuated by trigger action of the weapon for taking pictures through the barrel of the weapon.
Abstract: A portable tool for compressing a fitting on a high pressure hose comprising identical forged and machined parts that are held in alignment by parallelly positioned bolts that extend therethrough. The parts moved toward each other when a hammer or the like is applied to the outside surface of one of the parts. The parts have aligned mating surfaces each defining a die in their opposed surfaces for compressing a fitting to a hose when the hammer or like force is applied thereto. Shims are used to reduce the size of each die so that the tool can be used with an assortment of hose fittings on a variety of hose sizes.
Abstract: An elongated longitudinally interlocking cluster of absorbent pads held together by a tear away adhesive strip of material for use in a nail polish removing wand.
Abstract: An hermetically sealed, air-less multi-chambered structure for cooling semiconductor chips mounted on a substrate or printed circuit board which employs means for selectively providing a boiling-coolant generation of vapor bubbles for cooling purposes.
Abstract: A ground fault detector and locator for use in servicing ungrounded d-c or a-c power distribution systems. A pulsating ground current is introduced between the unfaulted side of the distribution system and earth ground. A current probe and associated sensing circuits are then employed to identify the faulted branch circuit without interrupting service to unfaulted branch circuits.
Abstract: An electronic device actuated by a manually generated movement to generate two independent and random set of electronic pulses resulting in a display of two independent sets of dots or digits from one to six inclusive representative of a dice display.
Abstract: An improved nail polish removing wand comprising an elongated tubular device containing a stack of absorbent pads that are driven toward an open end of the tubular device by selective operator manipulation of the wand. The forward pad in the stack is moved to the end of the tubular device where it is held until ejected by a flange at the open end of the wand that cooperates with the geometric configuration of the pad. After the pad is used for removing nail polish, it is ejected by further manipulative action of the wand by the operator.
Abstract: A high chair comprising a seat component, a tray and a supporting leg structure with the leg structure being detachably connected to the seat component. The seat component comprises a hook-on type baby seat with a forwardly projecting anchor member which anchor member is telescopically and detachably connected to the tray when the high chair is used and when the tray is detached therefrom the anchor member is adapted to overlie a table. A pair of gripping members are mounted below the anchor member for gripping a bottom surface of the table with a latch extending between the gripping member and the anchor member for latching the gripping members in position.
Abstract: A wood burning air augmented stove for reclaiming heat from the discharge gases employing a plurality of spaced catalytic combustors, one combustor being detachably mounted on the edge of a smoke baffle, and another combustor being positioned in a portion of the chimney flue which may be selectively moved from a gas intercepting position to a gas bypassing position. The catalytic combustors are so arranged that if one combustor is overheated, the second combustor will provide the additional gas heating and cleansing function needed. These combustors act in series to magnify temperature and heat increases.
Abstract: A blower attachment for rotation with a filament line spool of a conventional filament line trimmer which attachment is provided with at least a pair of blades that are selectively extendable from the spool for providing a blower function.
Abstract: An adjustable movable guard mechanism for a saw bar of a chain saw over which an endless chain travels which guard mechanism having a first part which covers at least a part of the forward end of the contoured plate and a second part which forms a ski for guiding the chain saw along a surface to be cut.
