Abstract: A depth limiting device includes a stop collar having a an open end portion and an workpiece engaging portion extending along the open end portion thereof for contacting a workpiece; a spindle extending axially through the shell, the spindle including a first end extending from the exterior of the stop collar for attachment to a hole forming apparatus, and an second end interior to the stop collar for attachment to a hole forming bit, wherein the attached hole forming bit projects through the open end portion of the stop collar at a predetermined length corresponding to the desired depth of the hole in the workpiece; and a bearing assembly operatively associated with the stop collar and the spindle for isolating the rotation of the spindle from the stop collar whereby the stop collar ceases to rotate when contacting the workpiece without generating sufficient frictional contact to mar or otherwise damage the workpiece.
Abstract: A method and system for removing contaminants from contaminated soil at a site utilizes particle size segregation and particle density segregation to yield a plurality of fractions, whereby each of the fractions are tested and identified for the presence of unacceptable levels of contaminants, and the soil fractions from the contaminated soil at the site corresponding to the identified contaminated fractions are collected for subsequent disposal or treatment, while the remaining untainted soil fractions are homogenized and returned to the site.

Abstract: A method and system for delivering programmed textual and graphical material to computer network based users includes a central computer system including software controlled central processor unit (CPU) for operating a memory to establish access to one or more databases in which profiles of a plurality of users are stored and updated, and textual and graphical material content are classified and matched. A user uses a personal computer for selecting information and receiving information over the computer network from the database of the remote computer system for display or viewing.
Abstract: A tissue microarray imaging system autonomously images, analyzes, and stores data for samples in a tissue microarray. The system may include a tissue microarray, a robotic microscope, and an imaging workstation that executes software to automatically control operation of the microscope to capture images from the microarray and analyze image results. A low magnification may be used to register samples within the microarray and obtain coordinates for each tissue specimen. Progressively higher magnifications may be used to analyze images of each registered specimen. Where multiple dyes are used to stain specimens, color separation techniques may be applied to independently measure and analyze each staining intensity. Images and quantitative data from the images may then be stored in a relational database for subsequent review. The system may be local, or may be Web-based for distributed control and sharing of results.
