  • Patent number: 7102463
Abstract: This invention relates to semiconductor devices and to printed circuit boards (PCB) or circuit assemblies used to electrically connect components. Delay devices are associated with the conductive traces or with integrated circuits. Delay is used to offset then realign the wave edges of propagating signals so as to minimize electric field effects on nearby signals. Impedance controlling devices are used to minimize reflections. The effects of split planes may be minimized or negated.

  • Patent number: 7082514
Abstract: A method and memory controller for adaptive row management within a memory subsystem provides metrics for evaluating row access behavior and dynamically adjusting the row management policy of the memory subsystem in conformity with measured metrics to reduce the average latency of the memory subsystem. Counters provided within the memory controller track the number of consecutive row accesses and optionally the number of total accesses over a measurement interval. The number of counted consecutive row accesses can be used to control the closing of rows for subsequent accesses, reducing memory latency. The count may be validated using a second counter or storage for improved accuracy and alternatively the row close count may be set via program or logic control in conformity with a count of consecutive row hits in ratio with a total access count.

  • Patent number: 7074169
Abstract: A wheel-guiding device comprises a handle connected to a member of a U-shaped member and the handle is preferably essentially perpendicular to a plane of the U-shaped member for guiding the motion of a preferably wheel. The handle is extendable for adjusting the length of the wheel-guiding device. The wheel's motion is controlled with the wheel-guiding device by engaging the U-shaped member and pushing on the wheel with the wheel-guiding device causing the wheel to both rotate and move in various directions or to stop movement of the wheel.

  • Patent number: 7046094
Abstract: A method and ring oscillator circuit for measuring circuit delays over a wide operating range permits improved analysis of dynamic circuits. A pulse generator circuit provides a pulse to an input of a dynamic circuit under test, which may be a pre-charge or evaluation pulse that is triggered by a transition of an output of the dynamic circuit that occurs during the state opposite that of the state commanded by the pulse. The action of the circuit provides for measuring any amount of delay to the next transition in the opposite state irrespective of the pulse width. By providing a wide-range of operation, characteristics such as leakage, charge sharing, data dependent node capacitance, previous value dependence as well as other dynamic circuit behaviors may be determined. The ring oscillator circuit includes an enable start circuit that causes a first pulse to be generated by the one-shot when the ring oscillator circuit is enabled.

  • Patent number: 7042072
Abstract: A semiconductor package and method of producing the same has a semiconductor die having a first face and a second face. A coating material is coupled to the second face of the semiconductor die. A substrate having a cavity is provided wherein the semiconductor die is placed within the cavity. An encapsulant is used to encapsulate the second face of the semiconductor die placed in the cavity. Connection members are provided to couple the semiconductor die and the substrate in order to transfer signals between the semiconductor die and the substrate. Terminal members are couple to the substrate to connect the semiconductor package to an external device. In the semiconductor package, a thermal expansion coefficient of the coating material C and a thermal expansion coefficient of the encapsulant E should be approximately equal in value in order to limit the problems associated with warpage.

  • Patent number: 7028400
Abstract: An integrated circuit substrate having laser-exposed terminals provides a high-density and low cost mounting and interconnect structure for integrated circuits. The laser-exposed terminals can further provide a selective plating feature by using a dielectric layer of the substrate to prevent plating terminal conductors and subsequently exposing the terminals via laser ablation. A metal layer may be coated on one or both sides with a dielectric material, conductive material embedded within the dielectric to form conductive interconnects and then coating over the conductive material with a conformal protective coating. The protectant is then laser-ablated to expose the terminals. A dielectric film having a metal layer laminated on one side may be etched and plated. Terminals are then laser-exposed from the back side of the metal layer exposing unplated terminals.

  • Patent number: 7024733
Abstract: A device for securing a towel to ground so the towel will not be blown away has a first anchor device coupled to a first end of the towel and a second anchor device coupled to a second end of the towel. The first anchor device and the second anchor device are coupled to the ground to prevent the towel from being blown away. The first anchor device and the second anchor device each comprises a body section. A first arc member is formed on a first end of the body section. The first arc member is rolled in the ground so that ground elements rest inside the first arch member such that the weight of the ground elements prevents the beach towel from being blow away. A second arc member is formed at a second end of the body section. The second arc member partially touches the body section to form an enclosed oval channel, the oval channel used for securing the towel to the body section.
