  • Patent number: 5545182
Abstract: An implantable automatic cardioverter/defibrillator device for a cardiac patient is automatically responsive to sensing of electrical cardiac activity of the heart of a patient in which the device is implanted for detection and treatment of fibrillation. A prescribed electrical shock waveform regimen is generated as electrical defibrillation therapy for application to the heart in response to detection of fibrillation of the heart. A timing function circuit responds to the detection by timing the delivery of the generated prescribed electrical waveform regimen to be applied at a point in time at which the fibrillation ECG has substantially its highest amplitude and lowest frequency, as a point of high susceptibility to reversion to sinus rhythm upon application of a shock, and with low defibfillation threshold, to enhance the probability of successful defibrillation, and to synchronize the shock delivery to this sensed intracardiac event.

  • Patent number: 5545061
Abstract: A panel lock connector includes a connector housing having chambers formed therein for accommodating electrical terminals and a spacer inserted into the connector housing in a direction perpendicular to a direction along which the terminals are inserted into the chamber. The connector housing is provided in a peripheral wall with an opening and flexible lock arms each of which has an engagement projection to be engaged with a hole formed in the panel. Under condition that the spacer is inserted into the opening and the connector housing is engaged into the panel incompletely, an axial end of the spacer is positioned close to the panel in comparison with the engagement projection. Under condition that the spacer is inserted into the connector housing incompletely, the top of the base projects from the peripheral wall. In such a case, a further insertion of the connector into the panel is restricted by an interference of the base of the spacer with the panel.

  • Patent number: 5540117
Abstract: A locking system for articulated fittings of car seats with a free-swivelling backrest. In particular, a wobble fitting is used with the articulated fitting and is made up of at least one notch, with which a pawl engages in a locking position, and a first clamping surface as the contact surface for an operating and safety element. The operating and safety element can be rotated around a swivel axis so as to increase the clamping force exerted on the pawl and is spring-loaded to secure the pawl in the locking position by using a second clamping surface, which rests without self-locking against the first clamping surface of the pawl. The operating and safety element includes a catch surface such that, when the pawl rests against the first clamping surface, it prevents the pawl from exerting an opening moment on the operating and safety element.
