  • Patent number: 4008668
Abstract: The circuits comprise a first part located at a control station where the trolley lies when not operated, and a second part located on the trolley. The first part comprises a three phase power circuit and a control circuit for the trolley. The connection between two parts is effected by only three active conductors, although the power supply is of the three phase type, the control signals being transferred to the second part when only two of the three phase conductors are coupled to the second part. To this end, a time lag contact controlled by a relay of said control circuit is inserted in the coupling of one of the three conductors and the circuit of the second part includes a memory relay which is energized by means of the two other conductors and which is no longer energized when the third phase is applied to the second part.

  • Patent number: 4007563
Abstract: A deck anchor, for securing in a hole in a metal plate in concrete building structures, has a stem with a connector at one end, and an assembly slidable on said stem and urged by spring loading towards the connector. The assembly includes a washer, and a collar portion, initially integrally joined by rupturable bridging means. When the anchor is driven, by force applied on the stem, to thrust the assembly through a hole in a deck plate, the collar portion is separated from the washer, such that the anchor becomes retained in the hole of the deck plate with the washer spring-urged against one major face of the deck plate, and the collar urged against the other major face of the deck plate.

  • Patent number: 4006452
Abstract: For use as an anti-theft alarm for a motorcycle, an electrical alarm device has a casing for securing to the frame of the motorcycle. The casing contains a rechargeable battery, an electric horn, a mercury tilt-switch, and a key-operable switch accessible from the exterior of the casing. The circuit can be set to "live" by use of a key, and the mercury tilt-switch is so disposed in relation to the frame of the motorcycle that, when the motorcycle is raised into an upright position, the mercury tilt-switch is closed to complete the current circuit to the horn. The key-operable switch may have a second position in which it disconnects the horn circuit, and connects the battery across a current outlet in the wall of the casing, for take-off of current or for connection of means for charging the battery. The casing may include an amp-hour meter connected, in the second position of the switch, in parallel across the poles of the battery.

  • Patent number: 4002283
Abstract: One of a member to be reinforced and a reinforcing material is rotated relative to the other and both are made to contact with each other. Under a considerably high initial pressure, the penetration of the reinforcing material into the member to be reinforced is effectuated and under a reduced pressure, frictional welding is done at the contacting portions of the member to be reinforced and the reinforcing material. As the result of the stop of the relative rotation, the welded portion is cooled to be coagulated and the unification of the member and the material results. Before the stop of the relative rotation, the pressure may be raised again.
