The voltage dropping over the luminous element, which is proportional to the exposure time, is ascertained by means of a measuring mechanism. The luminous element is formed as luminous diode and in parallel therewith there is connected a current path containing the measuring mechanism fed from a constant current source for the compensation of the response voltage of the luminous diode and for the adaptation of the measuring mechanism to the characteristics of the luminous diode.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for the dehydration of cattle and horse manure, cow dung or pig droppings, characterized by the action of a flow of hot air and of ultrasonic radiation along the path of the matter to be dehydrated, and that of microwave radiation at a preferred frequency of 2450 MHz which produces internal heating, these actions taking place separately or in conjunction. Manure from which gas has previously been removed by aspiration at temperature lower than that of self-ignition, is utilized. Combustible gases are recovered and used preferably to the heating of the air.Two types of apparatus are envisaged, one incorporating a conveyor belt and the other a helical worm provided with a plurality of perforations for the hot air to pass through. The ultrasonic radiation accelerates evaporation and discourages matter from adhering to the surfaces.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing multilayer fibrous mats is provided which can form alternate short and long fiber layers continuously on a single forming endless wire cloth. The layers are brought together under the influence of suction air and are held together by interfiber bonds at their interfaces. The apparatus is composed of long fiber defibrators and a short fiber disperser unit placed above the forming endless wire cloth. First, a thin web of long fibers is formed on the forming wire cloth and then a short fiber mat is formed on top of the said long fiber web. At this point, the short fibers to a certain extent are pulled into and among the long fibers of the thin long fiber web by the use of suction air thus forming a long fiber layer, long-short fiber interface layer and a short fiber layer mat construction.
