Abstract: A kit of components for providing a final resting place for a deceased pet. The kit comprises a moisture sealed, burial receptacle for receiving a burial basket containing a blanket, and a plastic bag sized to receive the deceased pet positioned within the burial basket, wherein the plastic bag can be tied to effect closure of the plastic.
Abstract: An optical fiber sensor, disposed in the insulation of a wire or cable, provides a means of detecting damage to the insulation of the wire or cable. An optical measurement device, such as an optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR), coupled to the sensor, detects the presence and location of a sensor fault or stress. The sensor is positioned between the conductor and the outside surface of the conductor so that the OTDR will sense damage before the conductor is exposed or contacted by a damage element.

Abstract: An automated and adjustable air diffuser assembly for placement in a floor opening in a raised access flooring system having an air distribution plenum under the floor. The assembly comprises a fixed circular hanging frame member, a suspendable fixed frame member secured thereto, a removable grill member mounting a floating debris/liquid retention basin, and an electric motor operating a plurality of push rods to raise and lower the retention basin.
Abstract: A portable, extendable and collapsible tunnel cover that is removably secured to a conventional slide, such as may be found in one's backyard. The tunnel cover includes front and rear members, and plural U-shaped rods for mounting therebetween, and a flexible cover, such as made from vinyl, extending between the front and rear members and in contact with the respective U-shaped rods. For stability in the operable and extended position, plural, rigid stabilizing arms are provided to extend between adjacent U-shaped rods, and the rods adjacent the front and rear members. When it is desired to store the tunnel cover in winter, for example, the cover may be collapsed bringing the front and rear members in close proximity to one another.
Abstract: A biodegradable seed pouch having in a preferred embodiment the ability to partially penetrate the ground when delivered by a slow moving airborne system. The pouch is a small package which contains the tree seed or seeds, along with their soil and nutrients. These are contained in a biodegradable skin which is dropped from the slow flying airborne system from altitudes just high enough to avoid contact with the local terrain. The inside of the pouch skin may be coated with a mixture of ground cover seeds and nutrients immersed within a biodegradable adhesive. The pouch, spherical or conical in shape, includes a flared open end formed by constricting the skin. Additionally, contained within the pouch, in a first embodiment, is an elongated member vertically oriented therein, where the lower end is pointed to facilitate penetration of the ground. The upper end is flared essentially laterally to facilitate maintaining the member within said soil and to assist in releasing the skin at impact.
Abstract: A reforestation and nourishing practice by the use of a lighter-than-air airship system, for dispersing and planting tree saplings, primarily in remote regions which may have been devastated by fire, where access to such regions by personnel and ground equipment is difficult. The airship system comprises an aerodynamically configured structure having a semi-rigid keel or skeleton, where lift is provided by helium, with the keel mounting a liquid management mechanism consisting of a reservoir open to the outside for resupply of liquid or water, a conduit leading to a holding tank, and a piping distribution and nozzle assembly below the airship system to spray or dispense the liquid or water over selected areas to water or nourish the newly planted trees. The mechanism for temporarily storing and eventually dispensing the tree saplings is a rack mounting at least one cylindrical canister containing plural compartments.

Abstract: A disposable, toilet flush handle protection device, and mountable dispensing mechanism for minimizing the spread of germs in public facilities, from one user to another. The device comprises an elongated disposable tubular member of a diametric size to be removably placed on and off a conventional, perpendicularly mounted flush handle member of a toilet. A first end of the device is closed, while the second end includes an outwardly flared portion, where the flared portion is preferably formed by plural longitudinal slots to segment the second end. The dispensing mechanism comprises a semi-rigid tube, such as may be formed of a thin walled plastic, open at the top end for receiving a plurality of nestable devices, and open at the bottom end. The bottom end includes an inwardly directed flange to selectively contact and temporarily retain the flared portions of the devices so as to limit the dispensing of a single device at desired intervals.
Abstract: A safety valve assembly for use with a portable container, such as for dispensing fuel to a vehicular gas tank, where the valve assembly features a pair of fluid sealing members to be manually activated to effect dispensing of the fluid from the container. A first of said sealing members includes a magnetizable float member that further functions to automatically shut-off the fluid dispensing procedure before the receiving receptacle overflows, thus avoiding a problem with unwanted spillage. The second sealing member is activated by applying pressure to the container against the receiving receptacle, whereby premature spillage is further avoided during transporation of the fluid filled container. Finally, a rotatable lock mechanism, in the form of a camming system, is provided.
Abstract: A portable and personal exercising device that may be stored and transported as a kit of intermatable components, then readily assembled and removably secured to a hinged door of a structure. The kit essentially comprises three telescopically engaging cylindrical members, where a pair of the members mount pulleys, a sliding weight member for vertical movement along the mated cylindrical members, and a cable in cooperation with the pulleys sliding weight member to effect such vertical movement by the person seeking exercise.
Abstract: A remotely controlled water line shut off system having particular utility as a convenient means to avoid internal water damage to a dwelling, or to the excessive use of water through a sprinkler system, where the dwelling is not occupied continuously, such as a summer rental. System includes a housing or enclosure mounted between a water intake and water discharge lines, where the housing includes a water meter, a water cut off valve, a preset quantity control metering mechanism, a solid state radio transceiver, and an electrical power source, where controlling thereof may be by wireless communication with the solid state radio transceiver.
Abstract: An automatic shut-off valve assembly having particular utility in a portable container of the type for dispensing fluid, such as fuel into a vehicle gas tank, where speed, safety and convenience are prime requirements. The valve assembly includes a spring biasing mechanism to effect opening and closing of the valve assembly. The assembly further includes a generally circular, hollow housing containing a slidably movable insert, which receives the spring, where the spring effects an automatic closing of the assembly, but yields upon the application of axial pressure to open the assembly.
Abstract: The combination of a pair of eyeglasses featuring a pair of temple arms, and a highly buoyant, hollow tubing of 100% natural latex extending between the temple arms. The hollow tubing, preferably about seventeen inches in length, with an outside diameter of about ¼ inch and a wall thickness of about {fraction (3/64)} inch, is formed by a hot dipping process to produce multiple layers. When secured to the temple arms, the hollow tubing forms an airtight chamber therebetween to provide buoyancy to the combination to help prevent loss thereof when loose or free in water.
Abstract: A brush assembly, such as for cleaning and sanitizing toilet bowls, having a removable and disposable applicator head. The brush assembly comprises an elongated handle with a broadening diverging end and an applicator head for removable attachment thereto. Dual locking means for the applicator head are provided, where the locking means may be manually released without having to physically handle a soiled applicator head.
Abstract: An incubator, especially adapted for premature infants, and supporting system to control, monitor, and communicate data and images to remote locations. The incubator has been modified by the inclusion of a ventilation system, weight scale, plural cameras, microphone/speaker means, and X-ray means. Externally, the incubator includes a control console, touchscreen display panel with processor and a primary display panel. Operation of the incubator is controlled by a hub interface, a central server and modem, and an internet server with modem.
Abstract: The combination of a global positioning satellite system (GPS) and a radar detection unit, in wireless communication with the GPU, for tracking and determining the speed of a vehicle. The system may be manually activated, or more preferably activated by an external source of radar signals, such as may be emitted by a police “speed trap”. The unit includes means for recording and storing speed data of the vehicle, and to alerting the operator of the vehicle to a “speed trap” situation.
Abstract: A portable and table mounted, wall paper pasting apparatus. The apparatus includes a housing containing a trough for receiving and transferring paste to the back side of wall paper. Abstract: A system for stimulating the production of hydrocarbon containing substances, such as from oil and gas wells, by the use of a generally cylindrical, high energy producing transducer mechanism. The transducer comprises a series of aligned transducer elements, preferably formed of doped ceramic piezoelectric materials, encased in a housing maintained under controlled pressure by a pressure compensator to equalize the pressure within the housing to that of the surrounding strata containing the hydrocarbon substance. When energized, the respective transducer elements transmit a very narrow, horizontal beam of ultrasonic energy radiating omni directionally, preferably in a narrow band of about 2 to 3°, to thereby focus the energy horizontally for maximum penetration into the surrounding strata.

Abstract: A portable, illuminated, drinking vessel assembly for receiving a variety of sizes of liquid containing drinking vessels, such as an infant's bottle. The assembly comprises a generally circular, vessel receiving housing formed of a light-weight material, such as may be molded of a semi-rigid foam. The housing includes a base having a central cavity mounting a light and power source. Further, the housing includes an upstanding circular side wall terminating in an annular surface to define a vessel receiving recess. Within the wall are plural radially and upwardly extending, light transmitting, fiber optic filament segments. The respective segments extend from positions in close proximity to the light to the annular surface. By the use of a movable wheel, having different color filters, between the light and the respective filament segments, movement of the wheel effects a changing color light pattern about the annular surface.
