  • Patent number: 6466397
Abstract: A cassette plate is provided with a bendable bottom plate, right and left side walls, and upper plates extending toward an inward direction from said side walls. The bottom plate includes a platform having a function for pushing up a backside of a tape cassette when the tape cassette is inserted into the cassette plate through a front mouth. Owing to this construction, the bottom plate convexly bends downward, and the tape cassette is kept at a distance from the bottom plate of the cassette plate. In this state, the tape cassette is supported by the platform and upper plates of the cassette plate. Therefore, this assimilates variations of the components in size, and eliminates a need of a conventional pushing spring. The constitution can decrease the number of the component in a simple construction, thereby reducing the cost in a tape cassette loading device, and a tape deck having the same.

  • Patent number: 5557101
Abstract: The detector comprises a disc-like reel table adapted to support a tape reel thereon, the reel table having a reflective underneath surface and an array of concentric spaced-apart cutouts uniformly disposed on the reflective surface along a common imaginary circle whose center coincides with a rotational axis of the tape reel, each of the cutouts having a light scattering surface capable of reducing the intensity of a light beam incident thereupon to an appreciable level. A light emitter is located in an opposing relationship with respect to the reel table for projecting the light beam toward the reflective underneath surface and the light scattering surface of the reel table. Positioned adjacent to the light emitter is a light receiver for receiving the light beam reflected back from the reel table to produce a pulse signal when the intensity of the received light beam varies over time in a pulse pattern.

  • Patent number: 5541660
Abstract: A motion compensated interpolation filter calculates an interpolated frame between two input frames of video signals having moving objects therein. The interpolation filter includes two 2-dimensional filter which are identical in structure. Each of the 2-dimensional filters has a 2-dimensional systolic array structure for providing a weighted sum of 4 pixels of each of the input frames, respectively. Each of the 2-dimensional filter includes (2N+1).multidot.(2N+1) identical processing elements, and each of a block of (2N+1).multidot.(2N+1) pixels is inputted to each of the processing elements, and each of the processing elements generates filter coefficients, to be multiplied to a corresponding pixel values. Since the systolic array structure inherently incorporates modularity and regularity therein, the interpolation filter is suitable for real-time processing with easy hardware implementation.

  • Patent number: 5521642
Abstract: A simplified decoding system for providing a reduced image frame to a high definition television receiver with a small size screen through the use of d.c. transform coefficients. The decoding system selectively decodes and inverse quantizes d.c. transform coefficients to produce a set of difference data, each of which represents an average of pixel differences between a block of two-dimensional pixels of a current frame and a corresponding block of its preceding frame. Each of two-dimensional motion vectors is also decoded and modified to derive a pixel data from the previous reduced image frame. The derived pixel data and the average pixel difference value are successively combined so as to generate the reduced frame.

  • Patent number: 5502489
Abstract: The present invention is a motion adaptive spatial filtering(MASF) method for use with a image coding apparatus, which proceeds the temporal band-limitation of the video frame signals on spatial domain along the trajectory of a moving component without temporal aliasing by using a filter having a band-limitation characteristic according to a cutoff frequency. It is well known that video signal may contain a lot of temporal aliasing components because of insufficient frame sampling rate. And it is impossible to design band-limiting temporal filter simply by convolving a sequence of frames along the temporal direction. From a signal processing point of view, the aliasing degrades filter characteristics. This filtering method takes advantage of the fact that, if motion of each pixel is known, the temporal filtering can be performed in the spatial domain filtering along its trajectory. That results in de-aliasing characteristic.
