  • Patent number: 8215962
Abstract: A waterproof, swivel feature secondary plug and socket device suitable for use within a construction setting, for placement within an extension cord between an originating power source and a user end tool. The device allows a rotational movement between the plug and socket components such that cord twisting and buckling is eliminated, and strain on an operator is reduced. The device provides protection against cord damage or operator injury because, when too great a longitudinal traction force is applied along the cord, as when a cord becomes entrapped during use, the frictional fit between the plug and socket component allows an automatic separation of the unit with immediate withdrawal of electrical power from the cord.

  • Patent number: 7785402
Abstract: A support framework for containing a media that is used to remediate corrosive vaporous pollutants in an air stream. The support framework is situated within a plenum and comprises two concentric open-lattice weave frameworks made from corrosion resistant fiberglass reinforced plastic “FRP”. The frameworks are of differing diameters and the media is placed into and contained within the open space formed between the inside wall of the outer framework and the outside wall of the inner framework. The open-lattice weave design allows a greater radial flow through the media per unit of time, doing so with less pressure drop and using less energy than the prior art. The use of FRP to form the framework walls allows creation of large units that are suitable for use in municipal and industrial settings, which was not possible previously.

  • Patent number: 7731217
Abstract: A device for bringing the separated truck and trailer borne elements of a goose neck hitch arrangement fully into position for completing the mating of the two elements without requiring the vehicle operator to leave the vehicle; and then for completing the mating of the elements and locking the hitch into place with the vehicle. An open bottomed receiver well is located in the tow vehicle bed. The trailer borne hitch section that drops into the receiver well comprises a funnel shaped member having a rod shaped probe as its lower end. The rod shaped probe, dependent from the goose neck trailer tongue is used to visually align the hitch over the receiver well as the truck is backed beneath it. The driver then exits and the probe serves to guide the hitch into the receiver well as the trailer tongue is lowered toward the truck bed following which a pair of lock pins are used to complete the hitching.

  • Patent number: 6437580
Abstract: A cable continuity tester and tracer includes a cylindrical barrel housing a battery, a cable connector with two contacts, a bicolor LED and a detachable, tone-generating portion. A circuit board in continuity with the battery, LED and both contacts of the connector permits the LED to glow read upon encountering a short in a tested cable, and to glow green upon encountering a low-resistance terminator on the cable of from 50 to 75 ohms. The tone generating portion issues an audible signal when placed on an opposite end of a cable from the tester, when the cable has good continuity.
