Abstract: The present invention concerns a package that includes (i) a container with a body and a neck, a container opening with an opening diameter (d), a screw thread, and a flange extending outwardly and having a flange diameter (D), and (ii) a removable closure adapted to be unscrewed from the screw threads of the container, with the closure having a top, a skirt and a tamper-evident ring attached to the lower edge of the skirt and is adapted to catch the flange of the container's neck when the closure is first screwed onto the neck. The ring is detachable from the skirt upon first removal of the closure from the neck. The container has a top load resistance inferior or equal to 30 daN, and the height h between the neck top edge and the lower part of the flange is such that it satisfies the relationship h?(d/3).
Abstract: The invention provides methods which can be applied during the epitaxial growth of two or more layers of Group III-nitride semiconductor materials so that the qualities of successive layer are successively improved. In preferred embodiments, surface defects interact with a protective layer of a protective material to form amorphous complex regions capable of preventing the further propagation of defects and dislocations. The invention also includes semiconductor structures fabricated by these methods.

Abstract: The present invention relates to prodrug molecules comprising conjugates of an antiproliferative drug, a protease specific cleavable peptide, and, optionally, a targeting peptide, with the prodrugs being substantially inactive prior to degradation of the cleavable sequence by proteolytic enzymes abundant within or in close proximity to the target cancer cell. Also, pharmaceutical compositions of the conjugates and the use of these compositions for treatment of cancer are disclosed.
Abstract: A flavoring composition for a minced-fish product comprises from 0.1 to 30 wt % of dimethyl sulphide, based on the total weight of the flavoring composition, and a cellulose ether derivative, wherein the weight ratio of dimethyl sulphide to cellulose ether derivative is 8:1 or less and the cellulose ether derivative comprises at least 2.5% by weight of hydroxyalkyl substituents.

Abstract: The present invention provides methods for the manufacture of a trench structure in a multilayer wafer that comprises a substrate, an oxide layer on the substrate and a semiconductor layer on the oxide layer. These methods include the steps of forming a trench through the semiconductor layer and the oxide layer and extending into the substrate, and of performing an anneal treatment of the formed trench such that at the inner surface of the trench some material of the semiconductor layer flows at least over a portion of the part of the oxide layer exposed at the inner surface of the trench. Substrates manufactured according to this invention are advantageous for fabricating various semiconductor devices, e.g., MOSFETs, trench capacitors, and the like.
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner attachment and a method of control of the vacuum cleaner attachment are described. The vacuum cleaner attachment comprises an ultraviolet light source to irradiate and disinfect various cleaning surfaces. Various embodiments of the attachment include one or more safety features concerning activation, enabling, and disabling of the ultraviolet light source based on various parameters such as distance between the attachment and a cleaning surface, time that such a distance is greater than a predetermined time period, and temperature of the ultraviolet light source in order to enable safe and effective operation of the attachment.

Abstract: The invention relates to a memory cell having an FET transistor with a source, a drain and a floating body between the source and the drain, and an injector that can be controlled to inject a charge into the floating body of the FET transistor. The injector includes a bipolar transistor having an emitter, a base and a collector formed by the body of the FET transistor. Specifically, in the memory cell, the emitter of the bipolar transistor is arranged so that the source of the FET transistor serves as the base for the bipolar transistor. The invention also includes a memory array comprising a plurality of memory cells according to the first aspect of the invention, and to methods of controlling such memory cells.

Methods and agents are provided for modulating dopamine transporter activity and modulating dopaminergic neurotransmission. Agents of the present invention include fragments of D2 receptor or dopamine transporter (DAT) that can disrupt D2-DAT coupling.
Abstract: A method for producing a beverage from an ingredient-containing capsule by inserting a sealed capsule into a capsule enclosure space of a beverage production device, enclosing the capsule by a relative displacement of at least two enclosing members which define the capsule enclosure space, and opening an inlet face of the capsule and injecting a fluid under pressure into the capsule in order to open an outlet face of the capsule. The capsule is provided at its outer surface with sealing material which is exposed to the fluid pressure in the capsule enclosure space. After enclosing the capsule, the fluid pressure in the capsule at least partially acts on the sealing material, such that in turn the sealing material is pressed against one of the enclosing members thus constituting a flow resistance that is sufficient to guarantee a pressure build-up inside the capsule sufficient for the pressure-assisted opening of the outlet face of the capsule.

Abstract: The invention provides various embodiments of a memory cell formed on a semiconductor-on-insulator (SeOI) substrate and comprising one or more FET transistors. Each FET transistor has a source region and a drain region at least portions of which are arranged in the thin layer of the SeOI substrate, a channel region in which a trench is made, and a gate region formed in the trench. Specifically, the source, drain and channel regions also have portions which are arranged also beneath the insulating layer of the SeOI substrate; the portion of channel region beneath the insulating layer extends between the portions of the source and drain regions also beneath the insulating layer; and the trench in the channel region extends into the depth of the base substrate beyond the insulating layer. Abstract: A method, system and software to dynamically allocate bandwidth on an application flow basis in a non-Internet-Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (non-IMS) environment is described. The method includes: receiving a request to create an application flow for an Internet Protocol (IP) filter with desired Quality of Service (QoS) properties; searching for an access bearer that is comparable to the desired QoS properties; when a comparable access bearer is not found, creating the access bearer adapted to support the IP filter and the desired QoS properties; and associating the application flow with the access bearer.
Abstract: The invention relates to improvements in the polishing of a layer of germanium by a method which includes a first step of chemical-mechanical polishing of the surface of the germanium layer that is carried out with a first polishing solution having an acidic pH. The first polishing step is then followed by a second step of chemical-mechanical polishing of the surface of the germanium layer carried out with a second polishing solution having an alkaline pH. The polished heteroepitaxial germanium layer has a surface microroughness of less than 0.1 nm RMS and a surface macroroughness corresponding to a surface haze level of less than 0.5 ppm.
Abstract: The substance application bar includes an application portion having an exterior surface and an interior surface and configured for applying a substance to a receiving surface and at least one blocking extension extending adjacent the interior surface of the application portion to define a retaining recess therebetween. The blocking extension and the interior surface are associated to cooperatively substantially block movement of an object received in the retaining recess in a direction generally along the interior surface against the blocking extension. The substance application bar may also include at least one bar-preserving extension associated with the interior surface to maintain a portion of the recess open to the atmosphere. This facilitates air flow through and drying of the recess for resisting deterioration of the bar. An assembly of application bars in stacked association also is included.
