  • Patent number: 3970345
Abstract: A seat with integral backrest attaches to a conventional cycle seat frame such that the seat adjusts forward and back on the frame. The frame attaches normally to the conventional cycle seat post. The backrest of the seat is peripherally configured and perforated to receive straps and anchor bands of accessories such as backpacks, bulk containers and sunshades. Horizontal racks on the underside of the seat movably anchor the seat frame to the cycle and afford attachment means for accessory platforms for either cargo or persons. Either is additionally supported from the back of the cycle frame above the rear wheel thereof. The front seat portion has a coupler securing the seat to the cycle frame bar to set the attitude of the seat and to stabilize the seat against transverse motion.

  • Patent number: 3970227
Abstract: A key keeper is held in a belt loop within a small closed bend thereof. The keeper has opposed small and large half loops. Straight side rods connect the loops, being tangent to both. One side rod is split to place keys on the keeper. A trough or clip fixed to a rod at the split releasably secures the rod in place. One loop is about twice the diameter of the other, the large half loop imparting resiliency to the keeper to reduce the need for expensive spring steel wire for the keeper. The keeper is made by winding a continuous wire on a mandrel wherein two end plates with pivots support a large and a small arbor. Each arbor has a cylindrical outer segment in contact with the wire. A clamping bar holds the wire in place after winding, insuring that the wire accepts the shape of the arbors. A cutter then severs the strands of wire on one side of the mandrel, separating the wound length into segments each having the configuration set forth above.

  • Patent number: 3937463
Abstract: A swing for both arcuate and rotational motion has a disc platform for passengers and multiple, congruently attached support strands adapted for securing to a horizontal support member. The bight of a strand passes around the support member such that two free ends of the strand may pass through the disc to locks to adjustably secure the ends to the disc. The strand pairs are fixed to the horizontal support member at spaced positions on the member congruent with the position of the strands on the disc. The disc is provided with a peripheral rim having top and bottom walls. Extending through the walls are a plurality of spaced apart vertical apertures. The lower wall is provided with a depression placed adjacent each aperture. Extending across the depression and spaced from the bottom of the depression is a rigidly attached lock bar.
