    Abstract: A cabinet structure having an improved user-mountable foot pedal-operated door opener. The pivot rod of the door opener may be mounted by the user to brackets previously mounted to the cabinet by the manufacturer, permitting completed installation of the door opener by the user without the need for tools. In one form, the door opener acts against a slide plate carried on the lower edge portion of the door of the cabinet, and in another form, a roller is provided on the pivot rod for directly engaging the door lower edge portion. The pivot rod may be readily removed from the cabinet construction, when desired, such as during subsequent shipment of the cabinet structure.

    Abstract: The measuring apparatus serves for measuring the distance of an object from a measurement surface. The apparatus contains an illumination unit, which is preferably a laser. Furthermore the apparatus contains an optical image reproduction system with which a light ray projected onto the object by the illumination unit is imaged, after reflection, on an optical sensor. A two-dimensional charge-coupled semiconductor sensor should be used as optical sensor, which sensor has a plurality of electrodes arranged in the form of a matrix. To evaluate the position of a light spot-point of concentration on the image region of the charge-coupled semiconductor sensor all pulse trains should be evaluated which can be retrieved from illuminated electrode series. In this way a high resolution is achieved despite a relatively small number of electrodes in any one series.

The pumps (46) are driven by hydraulic motors (50) which may receive hydraulic fluid under pressure through electrically operated control valves (76) from a pressure compensated, variable displacement pump (60) driven by the engine (64) for the vehicle. The use of the pressure compensated variable displacement pump (60) achieves operating efficiencies.

    Abstract: A unidirectional no-back device having an input shaft and an output shaft and grounded releasable brake structure for holding the output shaft against rotation. A drive train between the input and output shafts has first and second ball and ramp structures. The first ball and ramp structure is operable upon rotation of the input shaft in either direction by a prime mover to release the brake structure and enable driving of the output shaft by the input shaft. The second ball and ramp structure is responsive to torque flow from rotation of the output shaft in one direction to release the brake structure to permit backdriving of the input shaft and prime mover from the output shaft and is inoperative in response to torque flowing in an opposite direction of rotation of the output shaft so as to not release the brake structure and thus preclude rotation of the output shaft.

    Abstract: A latching failure detection mechanism for a rotary drive system is disclosed. A pair of mating clutch jaws are provided, with each jaw torsionally connected to a respective one of a pair of input members, such as the ends of a closed loop drive line. The jaws are relatively axially and rotatably movable. The jaws are movable from a first, inoperative position wherein the jaws simply rotate with the input members and a second, latching position wherein the jaws relatively rotatably move to a latched condition in response to relative failure rotation of the input members, thereby providing a torque path through the jaws in the latching position. An indicator is provided operatively associated with a movable one of the clutch jaws for providing a positive indication that the jaws have moved to the latching position.

    Abstract: A method of making a bearing composed of a bronze preform having aluminum or aluminum alloy cast thereabout. The method includes the step of placing the bronze preform in a mold so as to be supported at one end thereof. The bronze preform is formed of a bronze having lead with a determining melting point and boiling point. The method also includes the step of providing molten aluminum or aluminum alloy to be fed into the mold after the bronze preform has been placed therein. The molten aluminum or aluminum alloy is at a temperature between the melting point and boiling point of lead in the bronze of the bronze preform. The method further includes the step of feeding the molten aluminum or aluminum alloy into the mold under pressure after the bronze preform has been placed therein. The molten aluminum or aluminum alloy contacts the bronze preform and produces a molten lead during partial erosion of the surface thereof.

    Abstract: A secondary locking mechanism having a lock mountable to a sliding closure, such as a sliding window or sliding patio door, and a stop block mountable to a frame member which mounts the sliding closure. The lock has a pivotable stop arm which is spring-retained in an inactive position wherein a foot of the stop arm travels in a path of movement along with the sliding closure which is out of interfering relation with the stop block and an active position wherein the foot of the stop arm is positioned to engage beneath an inclined end of the stop block to prevent further movement of the sliding closure in a direction toward the stop block. One or more stop blocks can be mounted in various positions on the frame member to assist in locking the sliding closure in a fully-closed position and to prevent further opening movement of the sliding closure when it is in a partially-open vent position.

    Abstract: A casting type fishing reel is disclosed and includes a spool having a transverse spool shaft and a frame about the area of the spool. The frame includes a plurality of spacer posts joining a pair of side frame plates and interengaged to maintain the frame plates in conjoint alignment and to provide easy separation and assembly of the frame plates. A clutch mechanism is provided for selective actuation to move a spool pinion gear out of engagement with the spool shaft, and automatically re-engages the pinion gear in response to rotation of the reel handle. A magnetic drag mechanism is provided and recessed within a side cover of the reel. The reel handle, the main gear train of the reel and an anti-reverse ratchet-pawl mechanism all are mounted as a unitary assembly on a side cover for the reel whereby the cover can be removed from the reel for access to the gear train and other interior reel components without removing the handle.

A liquid conduit communicates between the pump chamber and the accumulator chamber on one side of the expandable and contractable reservoir whereby expansion and contraction of the coolant is accommodated by the reservoir.     Abstract: An air baffle for a refrigeration apparatus is provided with means for preventing freeze up of the baffle. The baffle includes a fixed plate and a movable plate each having corresponding apertures therethrough for permitting the control of air flow to a fresh food compartment. The fixed plate is provided with a heating device molded therein which is operable to maintain the fixed plate above the freezing temperature to prevent moisture from freezing thereon. Additionally, spacer means are provided for maintaining the movable plate in spaced relation with the fixed plate, and for preventing the movable plate from coming into contact with an actuator device. The spacer means add to the prevention of freeze up problems as by minimizing moisture which might bridge and freeze up between the movable plates and the fixed plate, or the movable plate and the actuator device.

    Abstract: An integrated hydrostatic transaxle having a common housing for a hydrostatic transmission and a pair of oppositely-extending differentially-connected axles to have the common housing provide a common sump therefor and with a specifically-shaped center section interconnecting the pair of hydraulic displacement units constituting the hydrostatic transmission. The center section is a unitary member separate from the common housing, with the exterior thereof exposed to the common sump. The center section has passages and arcuate ports which are interconnected by certain of said passages and which are located whereby the center section may be cast to minimize any machining required to finish the center section. Such casting can result in a porous center section with possible leakage from a passage having high pressure fluid.

A spring biases the second sheave half axially of the first sheave to vary the width of a belt receiving groove. The torque cam forces the second sheave half in the same direction as the spring when the torque of a load operatively connected into the pulley assembly is increased. A centrifugal thrust arrangement urges the second sheave half in a direction reverse to the direction caused by the spring responsive to the rotational speed of the pulley.
