  • Patent number: 6306222
Abstract: A process for cleaning plastic materials is disclosed, in which foreign materials adhered on and internally intruded into the plastic materials are cleaned to recycle the plastic materials. The process for cleaning plastics to recycle them according to the present invention includes the following steps. (1) A first cleaning is carried out on roughly crushed plastics of a size of 2-3 cm by using a solvent within a dumbler. (2) The solvent is discharged out of the dumbler after the first cleaning. (3) A second cleaning is carried out on the plastics by using a solvent within the dumbler after the first cleaning. (4) The solvent is discharged out of the dumbler after the second cleaning. (5) The plastics are dried after the second cleaning by injecting a heated nitrogen gas into the dumbler. (6) The nitrogen gas is discharged out of the dumbler under a reduced pressure, whereby contamination materials adhered on surfaces and internally intruded are cleaned.

  • Patent number: 6307710
Abstract: A storage disk cartridge comprises a storage disk, a shell, a linear shutter, and a compression spring. The shell has first and second main walls generally parallel to the storage disk and encasing the storage disk there between. The storage disk is rotatable within the shell. The shell also has a side wall extending between the first and second main walls. A head access aperture is formed in the side wall. The aperture enables a head to be inserted into the shell to be positioned in operative relationship with respect to the storage disk. The linear shutter is mounted to the shell, and is generally linearly movable between a closed position where the shutter covers the aperture and an open position where the shutter exposes the aperture. A compression spring is coupled to the shell and to the linear shutter and biases the shutter to the closed position.

  • Patent number: 6304728
Abstract: The camera of this invention may include a first viewfinder lens disposed in the front of the camera and a second viewfinder lens disposed in the back of the camera. Preferably, these viewfinder lenses are affixed to the camera and are non-moveable. A camera of this invention may further include a flash that is moveable between a stored position and an operable position. The stored position is preferably defined by a viewfinder air space and is defined at least in part by a space between the first and second viewfinder lenses. In its operable position, the flash moves relative to the viewfinder air space so that a camera user can focus on an object whose picture is being taken through the viewfinder lenses. The camera may further include a lens and a lens cover. The lens cover is preferably moveable between a covered position, in which it covers the lens and an uncovered position, in which it does not obstruct the path of light through the lens.

  • Patent number: 6302536
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for preventing clogging in impulse inkjet printers. It has been found in accordance with the invention that ink clogging during quiescent periods can be prevented by providing an ink that has the property of forming a barrier of higher viscosity ink where the ink contacts the ambient air. As a result, the viscous barrier shields the remaining ink from the effects of air exposure during the quiescent period. Thereafter, the barrier is removed by a series of sub-pulses that re-homogenize the viscosity barrier and clear the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 6304986
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting defects on a surface of a recording medium in a magnetic disk apparatus. An idling state of the magnetic disk apparatus is detected and a determination is made of the duration that the recording medium has been in use. The presence/absence of defects on the surface of the recording medium is then sequentially detected, responsive to the duration and the idling state, beginning at a start location of the recording medium. Data located at a detected defect is reallocated to a predetermined storage area, and the detected defect is mapped in a defect location map.
