  • Patent number: 8267691
Abstract: A firearm training simulation system for simulating the impact of one or more projectiles impacting a user includes an electrical impulse element configured for physical contact with the user. A controller is in communication with the electrical impulse element. The controller enables receipt of a signal for activating the electrical impulse element to deliver one or more electrical pulses to the user. Each electrical pulse simulates an impact of a projectile on the user.

  • Patent number: 8234943
Abstract: Disclosed is a combination of six substantially identical interconnected rotating masses, with a pair each of the rotating masses being configured to rotate in one of each of the three planes (X, Y, and Z). Regardless of the orientation of the six masses, each pair of the six interconnected rotating masses may share substantially the same center of gravity and generate a separate yet interactive kinetic energy and angular momentum in each of the three planes, thereby providing resistance to rotational forces from external sources. This is known as “equal force presence. In one embodiment, the rotating masses are ring-like masses. In alternative embodiment, the rotating masses are solid masses, similar to flywheels.

  • Patent number: 8194274
Abstract: The present invention provides for automated capture of metadata associated with paper-based documents. A “reservation” for the metadata and a digital image of the paper-based document is created whenever a digital image of a paper-based document is to be associated with a computer record. The relevant metadata is automatically captured from a computer screen and is then stored in a previously created database record associated with the reservation. The metadata can also be associated with a later-captured digital image of the paper-based document by placing a label on the paper-based document. The label contains identifying information for the reservation and this information becomes embedded in the digital image of the paper-based document, which is subsequently created by scanning the paper-based document and label. The subsequently created digital image can then be related to the appropriate metadata by extracting the reservation identification information from the label embedded in the digital image.

  • Patent number: 8066460
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a unique system providing for the quick and efficient movement of cargo such as pallets, containerized loads, and the like while providing enhanced safety measures to reduce or eliminate some of the injuries that are typically associated with cargo transport. By deploying a cargo transport system constructed from a fiberglass cargo loading grid with one or more cargo restraining latches, the movement of cargo within the trailer or bed of the truck can be more efficiently restrained, thereby minimizing inadvertent exposure of personnel to accidents associated with the movement of the cargo and damage to the cargo during transport. The cargo restraining latch is a spring-loaded, multi-fingered mechanism that is selectively and removably inserted into a portion of the cargo transport system, thereby restraining any undesired movement of the cargo.

  • Patent number: 8021523
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an electrostatic fluid filtration system suitable for removing sub micron insoluble contaminants known to cause varnish from fluids such as dielectric fluids. The electrostatic fluid filtration system is configured to remove both water and other contaminants from a target fluid (e.g. a dielectric fluid) and comprises a cabinet, a computer control unit, and one or more substantially cylindrical filtration units, including at least one of a water filtration unit and an electrostatic contaminant filtration unit. In the contaminant filtration unit, the target fluid flows radially through the filtration media that is positioned between the electrode plates in a generally horizontal flow pattern. This forces the target fluid to traverse multiple energy fields in a serpentine fashion and in a single pass through the contaminant filtration unit. After flowing through each layer of the filtration media, the target fluid is discharged from the electrostatic contaminant filtration unit.

  • Patent number: 8011539
Abstract: A bulk tank source of pressurized gas supplies gas to a consumption device, such as a beverage dispenser. A control valve is located between the bulk tank and the consumption device. A pressure monitoring system is connected to monitor the gas pressure between the bulk tank and the control valve. The pressure monitor system closes the valve when pressure drops below a first predetermined threshold, and opens the valve when the monitored pressure exceeds a second predetermined threshold greater than the first predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 7918367
Abstract: A system for monitoring and controlling the delivery of CO2 from a bulk storage tank to at least one gas-driven pump is disclosed. By monitoring certain conditions, the flow of CO2 can be quickly and easily terminated if necessary, thereby reducing or eliminating undesirable consequences of CO2 gas flow in abnormal operational scenarios. The invention is particularly well suited for deployment in conjunction with beverage dispensing machines and can be configured to shut down the flow of CO2 if a drop in pressure occurs due to a leak in the system or if a syrup delivery system runs out of product.

  • Patent number: 7733522
Abstract: The present invention is configured to provide optimization of printed output transmitted by a facsimile machine. By generating and comparing a baseline quality score with a companion quality score, optimization decisions can enhance the quality of facsimile transmissions. Optimization is also enhanced by recognizing the type of facsimile machine used and the optimal configuration settings for the facsimile. The settings for multiple facsimile machines are stored in a database, along with optimal settings for each facsimile machine. To further enhance the results of a facsimile transmission, a database of printers may also be consulted. By utilizing the best possible output from a printer, combined with the optimal settings for a fax machine, the optimal results for can be obtained. Additionally, the use of bar-coded identification for facsimile transmission provides a method of automating the optimization, thereby increasing efficiency by reporting the results of the optimization.
