Abstract: A seminconductor laser having at least a cavity, wherein the cacvity satisfies the following equations:
L=A+B×ln(1/Rf)

Abstract: A lens-fitted photo film unit is provided with a movable stop plate formed with small and middle stop apertures. The small stop aperture has a smaller diameter, and the middle stop aperture is larger than the small stop aperture. A fixed large stop aperture, which is larger than the middle stop aperture, is disposed behind the movable stop plate. The movable stop plate is moved to position the small stop aperture at a photographic optical axis when subject brightness is a predetermined reference value or more. Similarly, the middle stop aperture is positioned at the optical axis when the subject brightness is less than the reference value and a flash switch is turned off. Further, the fixed large stop aperture is set to the optical axis when the subject brightness is less than the reference value and the flash switch is turned on.
Abstract: Conductive hardening resin for a semiconductor device of the present invention contains metal powder for providing electric conduction between electrodes positioned on the front of a semiconductor chip and a wiring material including lead terminals via a conductive plate. The resin has a modulus of elasticity of 2.0×109 Pa or below when hardened. The resin prevents the contact resistance of the metal plate, lead terminals and semiconductor chip from increasing in the event of temperature cycling tests and a pressure cooker tests. Further, the resin frees the metal plate and chip from peel-off and corrosion, respectively.

Abstract: The antioxidant power of an organic or inorganic liquid is determined by causing it to enter into competition with bathocuproine (BC) in a copper sulphate solution. Bathocuproine (BC) forms stable complexes with the monovalent Cu. Such a reaction is specific for Cu(I) and not for divalent Cu(II). Cu(II) in solution can be reduced to Cu(I) by a number of reducing compositions belonging to a class of compositions consisting prevailingly of both liposoluble and water soluble non-enzymatic antioxidants. When the reaction occurs in a bathocuproine (BC) buffer, the complex being formed is characterized by the concentration of the reducing agents and then, by good approximation, of the antioxidants present in the system. The quantitative analysis of such a reaction can be easily made by spectrophotometry at 480 nm both by macro- and micromethods with the use of a number of reducing standard compositions with known concentrations.
Abstract: Method for correcting gaps between mail items Given that the actual gaps b of a mail stream are smaller than the minimum gaps c which are required for processing, every xth mail item, where x=(a+b)/(c−b), with a=the average mail item length, is ejected. The mail stream is then divided by alternately supplying the mail items to two gap-correcting units, in which said mail items are shifted to the ejection gaps in such a way that the required minimum gaps are attained after both partial mail streams have been combined.
Abstract: A method and related apparatus for measuring the adhesiveness of a slow-release tablet in which the tablet is adhered to a surface and a force necessary to initiate movement of the tablet parallel to the surface is measured. The measured force is used to determine the tablet's adhesiveness.
Abstract: The present invention provides a mask for measuring an optical aberration, the mask including at least a measuring pattern comprising plural pattern parts being separated from each other, wherein the plural pattern parts provide individual widths which are simply increased on first and second directional axes non-parallel to each other and vertical to a plane of the mask, provided that the width of each of the plural pattern parts is unchanged at least on the first and second directional axes.
Abstract: A vacuum operated lifting apparatus includes a piston having a pressure side and a suction side, respectively, and being movably received in a cylinder, wherein a piston shaft projects through a bottom of the cylinder from the pressure side of the piston and having a through passage for connecting the piston pressure side with the atmosphere. An axially compressible space is connected to a vacuum source for evacuation of the chamber and sealed in air-tight attachment to the piston suction side, the space being confined within the wall of a flexible bellows.
Abstract: Surface shape determination and an exact speed measurement of a moving object is undertaken with an arrangement including semiconductor elements and having two spaced semiconductor sensor lines. Illumination of the moving object occurs via at least one laser diode that is arranged in the proximity of the semiconductor sensor lines. The semiconductor sensor lines are used to perform a registration of cross-sectional profiles by integrating a number of range vectors calculated from sensed reflected light pulses at times when the moving object is not present and present. Successively registered cross-sectional profiles of a vehicle are converted into cross-sectional areas and into longitudinal profiles. The speed can be identified on the basis of the time-offset between identical registration in the first and second semiconductor sensor lines.
Abstract: A semiconductor device inspecting apparatus capable of a high-precision nondestructive inspection with a reduction of external noises, by using a value of an area having no hole as a background value for a correction when measuring an average current, measuring the current in a current differential input amplifier constitution, automatically judging whether a result of the measurement is caused by a defect of the device or of the equipment on the basis of a measured current waveform, measuring a current value of electron beams, and storing and reusing a waiting time between irradiation with electron beams and stabilization of the current measurement value.
Abstract: Disclosed is a feedback-type amplifier circuit including feedback-type charging means, which operates as a voltage follower, having a differential stage which receives an input-terminal voltage and an output-terminal voltage differentially as inputs and charging means for performing a charging operation at the output terminal based upon an output from the differential stage; and follower-type discharging means for performing a discharging operation at the output terminal by follower operation of an active element in accordance with a voltage difference between the input-terminal voltage and the output-terminal voltage.
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a semiconductor device: forming a seed layer 22 on a semiconductor substrate 10 having a pad electrode 14; forming a protective layer 24 on the seed layer 22; forming a mask 30 having an opening 40 on the protective layer 24 above the pad electrode; etching the protective layer 24 exposed in the opening 40 to expose the seed layer 22; depositing a plating film 50 serving as a barrier metal on the seed layer 22; and forming a solder bump on the plating film 50. The seed layer is covered with the protective layer, and the protective layer 24 is selectively removed with respect to the seed layer 22 immediately before the plating step. As a result, it is possible to prevent the oxidation of the seed layer 22 in the step after the formation of the protective layer.
