  • Patent number: 7692527
Abstract: A common mode choke coil is provided with first and second coil conductors that are magnetically coupled to each other, a third coil conductor that is electrically connected in series to the first coil conductor and substantially not magnetically coupled to the first coil conductor, a fourth coil conductor that is electrically connected in series to the second coil conductor and substantially not magnetically coupled to the second coil conductor, a first contact conductor for connecting the third coil conductor with the inner end of the first coil conductor, and a second contact conductor for connecting the fourth coil conductor with the inner end of the second coil conductor. The third coil conductor and the fourth coil conductor are substantially not magnetically coupled, and are in a linear symmetrical relationship based on a prescribed center line.

  • Patent number: 7646280
Abstract: A common mode choke coil includes two extraction conductors formed on a resin insulating layer, and a concave portion is formed in the resin insulating layer in an area between a first portion covered with one of the extraction conductors and a second portion covered with the other extraction conductor. An upper resin insulating layer is embedded inside the concave portion. Accordingly, because the resin insulating layer is not flat in the portion where the extraction conductors are formed, a distance between the extraction conductors along the surface of the resin insulating layer increases. Therefore, a current path generated due to ion migration along the surface of the insulating layer is hardly formed, thereby enabling to obtain high withstand voltage, even if the distance between the extraction conductors is short.

  • Patent number: 7616085
Abstract: A common mode choke coil includes two laminated coil conductors, a first magnetic substrate arranged on one of the coil conductors, and a second magnetic substrate arranged on the other coil conductor. When it is assumed that a distance from a conductor center of the one coil conductor to the surface of the first magnetic substrate is designated as A, a distance from a conductor center of the other coil conductor to the surface of the second magnetic substrate is designated as B, and a distance from the conductor center of the one coil conductor to the conductor center of the other coil conductor is designated as C, C<(A+B)/2 is satisfied. Accordingly, because a difference in the distances between the magnetic substrates and the coil conductors becomes relatively small, a leakage inductance due to the difference in the distance decreases, and the cut-off frequency with respect to a differential mode signal can be increased.

  • Patent number: 7565353
Abstract: A public access kiosk for conducting trusted lightweight e-commerce transactions. A trusted transactional cache and the associated transactional protocol allow e-commerce transactions to be committed to a remote server extremely quickly and with little network overhead. The end-to-end transactions are completed is just a few seconds allowing users to carry out e-commerce transactions without having to stand in front of the a display for minutes as is usually the case when making purchases on the Internet. The invention operates equally well on robust private networks as on unpredictable Internet or wireless networks, avoiding upsetting shoppers who would otherwise have to wait for the transaction to complete in the case of a temporary communication failure with the remote server or other failure. The methods and devices described herein may advantageously be used to offer large scale and cost-effective micro-payments solutions.

  • Patent number: 7553310
Abstract: A method of marking an orientation of a cut specimen of tissue prior to excision thereof from a body includes steps of disposing a tissue-marking probe in the body adjacent the cut specimen, the tissue-marking probe including a tissue-marking tool configured to selectively mark the cut specimen. A surface of the cut specimen is then marked with the tissue-marking tool such that the orientation of the cut specimen within the body is discernable after the cut specimen is excised from the body. The tissue-marking tool may be configured to selectively bow out of and back into a window defined near a distal tip of the probe and the marking step may include a step of selectively bowing the tissue-marking tool out of the window and following the surface of the cut specimen while rotating the probe. The tissue-marking tool may include an RF cutting tool and the marking step may include a step of coagulating or cauterizing a selected portion of the surface of the cut specimen with the RF cutting tool.

  • Patent number: 7542487
Abstract: A method to manage the secure download of data (102) to a very large number of network connected client devices (104, 110, 112, 114, 116, 118, 1120, 122) distributed within large geographic areas. The method provides adaptive data throttling and makes optimal use of network data bandwidth. The method can be advantageously applied for managing simultaneous data downloading to millions of network connected remote devices (104, 110, 112, 114, 116, 118, 1120, 122) via private networks, public networks and the Internet (124). A close-loop download regulation algorithm achieves the highest download capacity for the files without exceeding the maximum network capacity and without degrading the transactional and operational traffic performance between the server and the connected client devices.
