Abstract: A bit for removing a broken security fastener having an elongated shaft with a longitudinal axis. The shaft has a first end and a second end. The first end terminates in a tip region having a recess for receipt of the post of the security fastener, the recess being disposed substantially along the longitudinal axis. The second end of the shaft is configured to be received by the chuck of a tool which provides rotational torque.
Abstract: A projection device (1) includes: a projector (2) adapted for projecting a mother image along a projection axis (11); and a convex mirror adapted for at least partially reflecting the mother image and projecting it onto a three-dimensional environment (7, 8a, 8b) such as the ground, a ceiling, one or more side walls and the content of a room. When combining the projector with a convex mirror, the mother image can for example be projected into a solid angle higher than 2? steradians (i.e. a half-sphere), or even substantially equal to or slightly lower than 4? steradians (i.e. a sphere). A method implemented by the device is also described. The field of the invention is particularly that of video projectors for virtual or mixed reality applications.

Abstract: Implementing a standardized interpretive engine includes externalizing a business requirement into a component class of a data control structure, defining a solution to the business requirement, entering the solution into metadata within the component class, and pulling data from a data warehouse into the component class based upon the business requirement. Pulling the data includes aggregating sub-tending data from the data warehouse. The aggregation is specified to a level requested via the component class. Implementing the standardized interpretive engine also includes performing a calculation on the data in accordance with the business requirement. The data is pulled away from the data warehouse and forward to the component class, such that a single data source associated with the data is usable multiple times for a plurality of component classes.
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed toward a compound relief tap, and more specifically, to a compound relief tap with domains made of a plurality of consecutive threads where each domain has different properties associated with variable thread parameters and variable geometrical arrangements such a variation of a taper angle and relief angles for different portions of domain threads or between domains. In a first embodiment, all of the threads in a domain have a given geometrical arrangement. In a second embodiment, several of the threads of the domain possess the geometrical arrangement. In a third embodiment, only the thread of the domain possesses the geometrical arrangement. And in a fourth embodiment, alternative threads in the domain possess the geometrical arrangement. What is also contemplated is a variation in geometrical arrangement between successive domains for any of these threaded domains.
Abstract: The disclosed substance restores normal co-expression and interaction between the LOX and NRAGE proteins. Particularly, an effective amount of the substance that modulates the expression and/or activity of LOX of SEQ ID NO: 1 and/or that modulates the expression and/or activity of NRAGE of SEQ ID NO: 2, may be used for the manufacture of a composition for modulating the interaction between the LOX and NRAGE proteins to regulate the balance between the cellular phenomena of proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis, particularly in cases where the balance between these phenomena is disturbed, and especially in cases where the interaction between LOX and NRAGE is absent or altered. The invention makes it possible especially to treat and/or prevent skin ageing, lichen planus, graft-versus-host reaction (GVH), eczema, psoriasis and a cancer, particularly an epithelial cancer and more particularly a cutaneous epithelial cancer of basocellular or spinocellular type.

Abstract: The subject invention provides materials and methods for improving alcohol metabolism in animals. In a preferred embodiment, the invention provides methods for increasing the ability of people to consume alcohol while reducing hangovers or other effects of intoxication. Specifically exemplified herein is the use of a cysteamine compound to reduce the adverse effects of alcohol consumption. For example, the undesirable and unpleasant symptoms association with hangovers can be reduced through consumption, according to the subject invention, of cysteamine hydrochloride.
Abstract: Aerogel-based optical elements are disclosed. The aerogel-based optical elements have an aerogel member having at least one surface, and at least one optical surface disposed on the at least one aerogel member surface. The at least one optical surface comprises an electroformed metal or at least one glass sheet. The at least one optical surface can be transmissive, reflective, or both. Different types of aerogel-based optical elements are presented, along with various methods of making the aerogel-based optical elements.
Abstract: A system and method for providing a view of a virtual space to a user in a banner ad of a webpage. This enables an advertiser to provide content that is not merely static or scripted, but instead enabled provision of content through a web ad that represents activity within a virtual space (e.g., interactions of other users with the virtual space, content that changes based on current or recent events, etc.) in real time (or near real time). The provision of a virtual space in a web ad may be more effective than conventional web ad content.
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments include coolant compositions, packages of such compositions, and articles of manufacture derived from coolant compositions. According to one embodiment disclosed a liquid coolant composition is disclosed that comprises: (a) glycerol, (b) an aqueous solution of menthol, (c) calcium hydroxide, (d) barium hydroxide, and (e) water. According to another embodiment, a gel coolant composition is disclosed that comprises: (a) glycerol, (b) an aqueous solution of menthol, (c) calcium hydroxide, (d) barium hydroxide, (e) water, and (f) sodium polyacrylate. Such gel coolant composition can be converted to solid form by adding paraffin.
Abstract: A combination of an implement-storing tool-handle and a sliding cover for the tool handle where the implement-storing tool-handle heel comprises one or more first apertures in the cover allows extension of a telescopic implement such as a pick-up magnetic wand stored in the handle heel when the cover is in any of one or more first predetermined positions. The sliding cover for the implement-storing tool-handle heel may further comprise one or more second apertures in the cover conformed to allow retrieval of a bit stored in the handle only when the cover is in any of one or more second predetermined positions, where the second predetermined positions coincide with one or more of the first predetermined positions.
Abstract: An office chair or office chair element, such as a backrest or seat, has a flat covering element, such as a fabric, cushioning or webbing element, secured to support elements, such as the arms of a support frame, and tensioned in between. The covering element is provided with a welt strip that, in the fitted state, is placed in an accommodating groove in the support element. The accommodating groove has two oppositely situated contact faces for the welt strip and one of the contact faces is provided with a projection that projects into the accommodating groove and extends in the longitudinal direction of the groove. The welt strip can be pressed into the accommodating groove, resiliently deforming the projection and/or the welt strip and the welt strip, in the fitted state, is positively locked and/or friction-locked in the groove with abutment against the contact faces, with the projection preventing the welt strip from escaping from the accommodating groove.
Abstract: The invention concerns a detection system (7) for measuring at least one characteristic of an inked zone (5) comprising at least one sensor adapted to sense a light radiation reflected by said inked zone (5) and to generate a measurement signal representing at least the characteristic of the inked zone (5). Such a system further comprises at least one first optic fiber (10), adapted to convey up to the neighborhood of the inked zone (5), a light radiation emitted by a light source (11).
