    Abstract: The present invention is an assembly layer for a flexible device. The assembly layer is derived from precursors that include an alkyl(meth)acrylate ester having 1 to 24 carbon atoms in the alkyl group and a free-radical generating initiator. Within a temperature range of between ?30° C. to 90° C., the assembly layer has a shear storage modulus at a frequency of 1 Hz that does not exceed 2 MPa, a shear creep compliance (J) of at least 6×10?6 1/Pa measured at 5 seconds with an applied shear stress between 50 kPa and 500 kPa, and a strain recovery of at least 50% at at least one point of applied shear stress within the range of 5 kPa to 500 kPa within 1 minute after removing the applied shear stress. In a preferred embodiment, the flexible device is a flexible electronic display.

The separation liquid can have a density greater than that of the supernatant of the sample, and an interfacial tension with the supernatant of at least 0.05 N/m. The separation liquid can be non-toxic and inert. The method can include adding the separation liquid to the sample detection container, after centrifuging the sample detection container, to displace the supernatant located outside of the microcavity from the microcavity.

The notch may have raised edges along at least a portion of a perimeter of the notch.

    Abstract: Low loss, high reflectivity wide band mirror films provide a desired mix of specular reflection and diffuse reflection or scattering to provide semi-specular reflectivity. The mirror films generally include both a specularly reflective multilayer optical film (MOF) having a wide reflection band, and a scattering layer. In some cases a low refractive index TIR layer is sandwiched between the MOF and the scattering layer. In other cases the scattering layer contacts the MOF directly. In embodiments that include the TIR layer, the TIR layer preferably has a nanovoided morphology and includes a plurality of particles and a polymer binder. In embodiments wherein the scattering layer contacts the MOF directly, the scattering layer preferably also has a nanovoided morphology and includes a plurality of particles and a polymer binder.
