  • Patent number: 10956322
Abstract: In one embodiment, storage drive dependent track removal processing logic performs destage tasks for tracks cached in a cache as a function of whether the storage drive is classified as a fast class or as slow class of storage drives, for example. In one embodiment, a destage task configured for a slow class storage drive, transfers an entry for a track selected for destaging from a main cache list to a wait cache list to await destaging to the slow class drive. A destage task configured for a fast class storage drive allows the cache list entry for the selected track to remain on the main cache list while the selected track is being destaged to the fast class storage drive, thereby bypassing the transfer of the entry to a wait cache list. Other features and aspects may be realized, depending upon the particular application.

  • Patent number: 10956354
Abstract: Provided are techniques for detecting a type of storage adapter connected to an Input/Output (I/O) bay and miscabling of a microbay housing the storage adapter. Under control of an Input/Ouput (I/O) bay, cable sidebands are driven high for a predetermined period of time. It is determined whether a cable sidebands response has been detected that indicates that the cable sidebands have been driven low. In response to determining that the cable sidebands response has been detected, it is determined that the I/O bay is connected to a first storage adapter supporting a first protocol for the cable sidebands. In response to determining that the cable sidebands response has not been detected, it is determined that the I/O bay is connected to a second storage adapter supporting a second protocol for the cable sidebands. Moreover, I/O bay and port numbers stored by the microbay are used to determine miscabling.

  • Patent number: 10958475
Abstract: A repeater device in a communication network includes a microcomputer configured to determine whether the repeater device will function as a mirroring switch that generates and transfers a mirror frame, or as a mirror-transfer switch that transfers the mirror frame. When the repeater device functions as a mirror switch and performs port mirroring, the repeater device adds monitor port and destination port information of the mirroring switch to the mirror frame. When the repeater device functions as a mirror-transfer switch, the repeater device adds sender port and destination port information of the mirror-transfer switch to the mirror frame. A monitor device in the communication network uses information in the mirror frame to identify a mirror source device in the network.

  • Patent number: 10957810
Abstract: An electromagnetic wave detector comprises: p-type and n-type graphenes arranged side by side on an insulating layer; a first electrode and a second electrode opposing each other via the graphenes; a gate electrode for applying an operation voltage to the p-type and n-type graphenes; a balance circuit connected between two second electrodes; and a detection circuit. The p-type graphene has a Dirac point voltage higher than the operation voltage. The n-type graphene has a Dirac point voltage lower than the operation voltage. In a state in which no electromagnetic wave is incident on the graphenes, the balance circuit places the first electrode and the second electrode at the same potential. In a state in which an electromagnetic wave is incident on the p-type and n-type graphenes, the detection circuit detects an electric signal between the second electrodes, and outputs an electric signal in the state in which the electromagnetic wave is incident.
