Patent number: 10956422Abstract: Large quantities of data can be processed and/or queried relatively quickly using a combination of continuous event processing and a Map-Reduce algorithmic tool. The continuous event processor can continuously produce real-time results by merging (a) CQL query results from events received since a currently executing Map-Reduce job was started with (b) a most recent query result produced by a most recently completed Map-Reduce job. When the currently executing Map-Reduce job completes, its query result can be stored and made accessible to the continuous event processor, and a new Map-Reduce job can be started relative to event data that has grown in size since the execution of the last Map-Reduce job. The Map-Reduce algorithmic tool provides a convenient mechanism for analyzing and processing large quantities of data.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2013Date of Patent: March 23, 2021Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventor: Alexandre de Castro Alves

Patent number: 10958595Abstract: A system includes a cut-through bridge including a plurality of stages within a controller for communication packet transmission to transfer data and one or more control signals successively between the stages. The system also includes a control signal interceptor within the controller operable to intercept control signals between a first stage and a second stage of the cut-through bridge. The control signal interceptor is further operable to generate a forced valid control signal for each of the control signals regardless of an error condition of the control signals. The control signal interceptor outputs the forced valid control signal for each of the control signals to the second stage of the cut-through bridge. The forced valid control signal for each of the control signals is propagated through one or more successive stages of the cut-through bridge to an end stage to prevent an invalid state at the end stage.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 2019Date of Patent: March 23, 2021Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Tynan J. Patent number: 10958742Abstract: Methods, computer program products, and systems are presented. The methods include, for instance: predicting a reaction by a user that may be caused from receiving social media content. An activity that may be affected by the predicted reaction is consequently predicted. A measure of impact by the social media content on the user performing the activity as predicted is quantified as a performance impact score based on numerous factors including the activity and the reaction predicted. If the performance impact score is within a certain range of threshold, the social media content would be delivered according to a delivery regime associated with the range.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 2017Date of Patent: March 23, 2021Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: James E.
