Abstract: A self-actuated linearly retractable and extendible hose for use in transporting fluids (liquids, gases, solid particles, and combinations of these) between a source location and an output location can be implemented as an extendible hose comprising a biasing means, a sealing layer, and a reinforced cover layer. The sealing layer forms a sealed conduit for transporting the fluids, and the reinforced cover layer on the outside provides radial and longitudinal strength for the sealing layer. The hose can be operated by increasing internal pressure within the hose relative to ambient pressure. When the hose is pressurized by a fluid source, the internal pressure of the hose overcomes the retracting force of the biasing means and the hose extends. When the fluid source is turned off or disconnected from the hose, internal pressure is reduced and the biasing means exerts a tension force on the hose causing the hose to retract.

Abstract: A noise filter is assembled to an electric power conversion device and has a metal housing casing and two capacitors connected to an external terminal of the device through which an electric power conversion circuit is connected to an external device. The two capacitors, the housing casing and the external terminal make a current loop. A magnetic flux of an alternating magnetic field generated in a part of the electric power conversion circuit penetrates in a first area and a second area formed in the current loop. A first induced noise current is induced in the current loop when the magnetic flux of the generated magnetic field penetrates in the first area. A second induced noise current is induced in the current loop when the magnetic flux penetrates in the second area so that the first induced noise current flows in a reverse direction to the second induced noise current.

The device driver calculates a first tile size based on the storage capacity of the first cache memory and one or more additional characteristics. The device driver calculates a storage capacity of a second cache memory. The device driver calculates a second tile size based on the storage capacity of the second cache memory and one or more additional characteristics, where the second tile size is different than the first tile size. The device driver transmits the second tile size to a second coalescing binning unit. One advantage of the disclosed techniques is that data locality and cache memory hit rates are improved where tile size is optimized for each cache level in the cache hierarchy.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for determining optimal column widths used in the rendering of data tables displayed in a graphical user interface. The method includes receiving a table parameter associated with the contents of the table and determining if the table parameter has changed. If the table parameter has changed, statistical values are calculated for visible columns of the table. A user choice for a run time column width and a default column width are received for each of the columns. A readability index for data displayed in the visible columns is calculated. A maximum readability index for visible columns is calculated. The optimal column widths based on the maximum readability index are determined. The column widths are set to the optimal column widths. The optimal column widths are stored as meta-data. The table of data is displayed using the optimal column widths.

Abstract: An FPD is provided with an ammeter for measuring current on a wired connection of a bias line that applies a bias voltage to pixels. A control circuit compares the measured value of the ammeter and a threshold value. When the measured value of the ammeter is equal to or larger than the threshold value, the control circuit judges that an emission of X-rays from an X-ray source is started. Until before the start of the X-ray irradiation is detected, the control circuit stops supplying electric power to a signal processing circuit, and turns on all TFTs. Once the start of the X-ray irradiation is detected, the control circuit turns off all the TFTs, and makes the FPD shift to a charge accumulation operation. Thereafter, the control circuit turns on a processing power source to start supplying the electric power to the signal processing circuit.
