Abstract: There is provided a gamma curve adjustment device for use in a gamma correction circuit that performs gamma correction of an image signal, wherein the device is used to adjust the gamma curve indicating the relationship of input tone values to output tone values. The gamma curve adjustment device comprises a user interface module configured to permit a user to specify, desired output tone values for a plurality of pre-established adjustment points on the gamma curve; and an adjustment module configured to adjust the gamma curve such that the output tone value at each adjustment point assumes the value specified through the user interface module. The plurality of adjustment points are established such that a differential of input tone values between a first set of two adjustment points situated adjacently on the gamma curve differs from a differential of input tone values between a second set of two adjustment points situated adjacently on the gamma curve.

Abstract: An exhaust gas purifying apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes a collector, which collects exhaust particles in exhaust gas. The apparatus computes a pressure-difference-based measured value of a collected amount of the particles based on a pressure difference, and computes a pressure-difference-based estimated value by correcting the measured value. The apparatus computes an operational-state-based estimated value of the collected amount. The apparatus regenerates the collector by burning the exhaust particles when one of the pressure-difference-based estimated value and the operational-state-based estimated value reaches a predetermined value.

Abstract: Cosmetic and personal care formulations with goniochromatic non-quarter wave multi-quadrant multi-layer effect materials includes a transparent substrate such as borosilicate, a layer of high refractive index material on the substrate, and alternating layers of low refractive index and high refractive index materials on the first layer, the total number of layers being an odd number of at least three, all adjacent layers differing in refractive index by at least about 0.2 and at least one of the layers having an optical thickness which is different from all of the other layers. The resulting multilayer effect pigment is not a quarter-wave stack. Further color intensity, dimension and depth is obtained by combining the goniochromatic effect material with combination pigment which is obtained by combining a transparent substrate, an interference pigment and an absorption colorant.

Abstract: A magnetic field detection apparatus capable of changing the detection range and detection sensitivity as desired for a specific application is disclosed. A magnetoresistance effect element is applied a bias magnetic field and an external magnetic field. The bias magnetic field and the external magnetic field are generated on the same straight line, and therefore the bias magnetic field functions to hamper the external magnetic field applied to the magnetoresistance effect element. Thus, the magnetization of the free layer of the magnetoresistance effect element is suppressed, and the rotational angle of the magnetized vector is reduced. As a result, the characteristic of the resistance value of the magnetoresistance effect element to the external magnetic field is shifted by an amount equivalent to the bias magnetic field.

The data reception and the data output to the reproducing unit from the buffer are stopped by a reproduction temporary stop instruction. The data reception is restarted by a reproduction temporary stop cancellation instruction. The received content data is written into the buffer. The reception of a disconnection signal from the server is discriminated after the restart of the data reception. If the signal is not received, a predetermined amount of received data is written into the buffer, the reading is started, the data is outputted to the reproducing unit, and the reproduction is restarted.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for selecting a serving cell/Node-B in a single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) system are disclosed. For intra-Node-B serving cell selection, a serving Node-B measures channel quality indicators (CQIs) of each subcarrier block in an uplink of each cell controlled by the serving Node-B and selects a new serving cell based on the CQIs. The serving Node-B reports the selected new serving cell to a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). For inter-Node-B serving cell selection, each of a plurality of Node-Bs measures a CQI of each of a plurality of subcarrier blocks in an uplink transmission in each cell controlled by each Node-B and forwards the CQIs to a serving cell selection entity. The serving cell selection entity selects a new serving cell/Node-B based on the CQIs. The serving cell selection entity may be a centralized access gateway, a current serving Node-B or a WTRU.

A user submits a project update request when the user creates a new project or modifies an existing project. The project update request is associated with an API that calls the server via a web service to update the project. Example APIs include a data retrieval call, an administrative call or a data update call. A processor compares the project update request to any existing project definition to identify update values. A set of calculations is performed using the update values and any existing project definition. The project is updated based on the calculation results and stored in a data store.

Abstract: A semiconductor fabrication method or process is provided for fabricating an integrated circuit (IC) originally having an Al backend design using a Cu BEOL fabrication process. The method converts the Al backend design to a Cu backend design without redesigning the IC for Cu BEOL fabrication process, and uses the resultant Cu design to fabricate the IC using Cu BEOL fabrication process. The Al-Cu conversion first determines layer construction of the Al design, and then matches metal resistances of the Al design with metal resistances of a Cu design, matches intra-metal capacitances of the Al design with intra-metal capacitances of the Cu design, and matches inter-metal capacitance of the Al design with inter-metal capacitances of the Cu design.
